I'm stunned no one has commented on this.

This elixir alone is a brilliant sign for what alchemy should be. A weak tank is a bad, bad thing, and for some of us, that jump from regular 70 five-mans to heroics, and then on to raids, was pretty rough in terms of gear (especially for protadins pre-3.0.2).

Got a hole in your armour because you needed some HP and sacrificed some defense, but really want to tank that heroic? Good thing you know an alchemist. I'd be very interested to know what 45 rating converts to at 80, but I'm sure it's enough to turn a tank that's "almost good enough" to tank a heroic into a sufficient tank, at least in terms of gearing.

This will be truly awesome for tanks to use if you're not defense-capped at level 80 (540 defense, quite a lot).

Although note, Lesser Flask of Toughness gives ~0.6% crit reduction, so if you're severely lacking in crit reduction, this flask might be a better choice.

With alchemist's Mixology this elixir provides 61 Defense Rating, a 35.6% increased effect over the 45 Defense Rating intended.

Since there's no defense cap (540 or otherwise) this is awesome for Tanks period. None of the other Guardian elixirs really compare.

Even after 540, this is the elixir for tanking.
