The crit bonus seems to apply to melee crit only. My alchemist warlock did not see any change in his spell crit. Although I thought crit bonuses were no longer seperated into melee/spell type.

Edit: I just tried this on my Pally and it did show an increase in both melee and spell crit. I do not know why it originally did not show any change in my Warlocks spell crit. I figure it must have been lag or something.

After reading the above comments and the detailed information about the buff itself, I was disappointed that it only was for physical(melee and ranged?) attacks. However, I doubted this and I tried it out myself.

It does give spell crit as well as melee and ranged crit.

Additionally, with mixology bonus, this elixir gives 61 critical strike rating. An increase of 35.56%.

I learned this via Northrend Alchemy Research. Can find Goldclover all over & Adder's Tongue all over Sholazar even at 70. There's plenty to pick without getting anywhere near aggressive mobs.
