This could be great for PvP. Keep this up at all times for dispell fodder, to protect something more important, like Icy Veins.

Minor glyph monopoly = ftw. i got lucky enough to get this on my first cd of Minor Inscription Research and was, at the time, the only person with it on my server Hordeside. Needless to say, it's quite useful and every PvP mage wanted one. 2.5k gold in 24 hours ain't bad :-D

This is the best minor glyph. In every way, it's dispel/purge fodder.. Slowfall becomes really useful when you can use it all the time. Go to the top of Wyrmrest Temple and put on your rocket boots, set course for Warsong Hold and Swwooosh.

This is by far the best minor glyph a mage can get. Any and every spec should have this.

It saves you an inventory spot, but mostly it saves you the hassle of having to get feathers which can only be found in certain places or the AH.

Slow Fall is used plenty in PvP - for example, jumping from the Lumber Mill to the Blacksmith or down into the Gold Mine in Arathi Basin. Without Slow Fall, you would only survive that with a well timed blink.

It's also useful for jumping down to Rutheran Village after having explored Teldrassil as a Horde player ;-)

Lol, i totally see the usefulness of this glyph. But what if you are floating down from the Lumber Mill or to the Gold Mine And a DK has come just in time to Death Grip you to him? (DK's are pretty good at killing cloth wearers.) But still, a DK could DG you while you are still in mid air. There might be a few instant cast spells that you could use while still floating though :)

In my opinion, this is an extremely overrated glyph. I think there is maybe a place for it for AB fiends, you can definitely see the LM to BS hackery being very useful, but beyond that, its only strength is using it on other people, and I'm not really sure that I can think of a time when I've wished I'd been able to.

Every mage should learn the Blink-when-landing timing, which I think renders this glyph pretty much useless. Falling without Slow Fall is so much faster (duh), so you can mount up so much sooner. I don't think you cover much extra ground with Slow Fall. I think maybe the reason I'm so biased is that the Blink hax is so incredibly elegant that I want to see more mages doing it! Plus, I think it can only be a good thing to practice your judgement and timing in this way. It's blatantly a transferable skill!

Further, I think some of the alternative minor gloves do have more direct utility. I would even rate the Fire and Frost Ward glyphs as more useful than Slow Fall, and of course you have Arcane Intellect and, err... Penguin / Bear. Kinda difficult for me to argue that those two have more utility, though.

This is my favorite mage glyph! It has saved my life many times and is just plan fun to use lol. I love jumping off the pillars in thousand needles and jumping straight from Tanaris into the middle of Un'Goro :D

The only reason this glyph is considered the best one (and rightly so) is because all the other minor mage glyphs are completely useless (except for Blast Wave which has its pve purposes).

Slow Fall is awesome. I was PvPing in Nagrand against a Boomkin who decided to Typhoon me off the mountain for an embarassing falling death. NOT TODAY! I used Slow Fall and escaped. Two other very useful situations - any raid bosses that cause fall damage, and any abominations that use the NPC version of Death Grip.

On a serious note, this is like the only really good/useful minor mage glyph. In fact it is probably the best one. On the other hand Polymorph: Penguin is cool, but it is only a cosmetic effect. Albeit an awesome one.

Insanely useful glyph. EVERY mage should have this. Prior to WotLK, I never used the spell (because I'm cheap). Now, with this, I use it all the time!

Uses include:

Slowfalling from LM to BS, like a boss!
Jumping off of really tall things while mounted to see how far you float!
Not having to pray to various gods that server lag will cause you to blink upwards 40 feet and refall to your death!
Saving yourself from fall damage in encounters, such as Archimonde and Malygos! No more grunting in pain like the unwashed masses for YOU!

AND SO MUCH MORE!

Save gold!
Own a bird other than a phoenix!
Free up an inventory space!

But most importantly, have fun! Featherfall is an iconic ability of the magi, and by god now that you have hit level 15 you are going to use it!
