Movement speed increased by 15%. (Does not affect mounted speed.)

Fate Rune of Nigh Invincibility

Decreases all damage taken by 5%.

Fate Rune of Primal Energy

Regain 1% of your total mana any time that you deal a critical with a spell.

Fate Rune of Unsurpassed Vigor

Heal 2% of your total health any time that you deal a critical hit with a melee or ranged weapon.

All of the Fate Runes effects stack.
All of the Fate Runes have a 30 minute duration.
Fate runes are attained via Vrykul Bones. These drop off any Vrykul mob and have a 100% drop rate.

When Icecrown is introduced it is likely that either:

The currency for these runes will be changed to non-BoP similar to the Storm Peaks currency. This would make sense as both can be used to buy pots that work in instances, and are used in repeatable reputation hand ins. Also the cost could be reduced
The runes might be changed to not work in instances... which would be a pity.

Either way this would balance things in some way: The first takes away the need to farm, and as these are so common these would quickly become fairly cheap, the second simply removes their use.

Given the mass amounts of bones you will collect while questing in Icecrown, these are not hard to get. They can be used to buff up raids and heroics a bit, so I'd reccomend stacking up on them according to your spec (+damage for DPSers and mana regen for casters, +defense for tanks and health regen) for future raids such as Ulduar and Icecrown Citadel (although, as noted above, there will likely be restrictions on the runes for the Citadel).

In addition to the usefulness of the buffs, you also gain a small amount of Knights of the Ebon Blade reputation for doing the repeatable quest.

Enhancement shaman, be aware: Shamanistic Rage will overwrite this buff.

I picked up one of these just to try it out while doing my Icecrown dailies. Ten minutes later, I looked up at my buffs, and Baneful Intent was still there, but Nigh Invincibility was gone. It took me a while to figure out what happened, but I believe Shamanistic Rage's 30% damage reduction caused it to boot this one out.

I stepped into a normal 5man ToC and it doesn't work in there. Told me i need to be in icecrown. As of Aug, 15 2009
GM reply: That is because you are inside of an instance server that does not count as Icecrown. I do apologize about that, it's simply a matter of zoning.

Out of interest, I think this item is a reference to Ben Edlund's The Tick - who is "Nigh Invincible".
