Looks very useful, as GS is NOT used on cooldown, but often to compliment Evasion. A very solid Glyph for a Sub rogue

Ghostly Strike, like most other abilities, is normalized. This means that it uses a fixed attack speed (depending on the type of weapon you use) to figure out how much it benifits from Attack Power.

Daggers are normalized to 1.7 speed while swords/fists/maces are normalized to 2.4 speed (2-handers are normalized to 3.3 speed and ranged weapons 2.8 speed, if it interests you). This was implemented in patch 1.8 to make weapons with slow attack speeds less powerful (a good example is the old Barman Shanker being better than Gutgore Ripper if you stacked enough Attack Power). Note that Weapon Normalization only applies to some specials and has no effect on white hits.

Your math is also off, since Ghostly Strike does 125% of your Weapon Damage, but you have it calculated as 140%.

Since you will probably always be using a sword, fist, or a mace in your mainhand with a spec that has Ghostly Strike (going for Hemorrhage, that is - which is also normalized as of patch 2.3) the speed you should be using is 2.4 speed, and it would look like this:

((( AP / 14 ) * 2.4 ) + avg.WpnDmg ) * 1.25 = Your average non-crit Ghostly Strike damage.

This glyph should change the formula to this:

(((( AP / 14 ) * 2.4 ) + avg.WpnDmg ) * 1.25 ) * 1.4 = Your average non-crit Ghostly Strike damage, with the Glyph (multiplicative).

Assuming the Glyph is an additive 40% damage and not multiplicative, like almost every other talent in the game, it would be like this:

((( AP / 14 ) * 2.4 ) + avg.WpnDmg ) * 1.65 = Your average non-crit Ghostly Strike damage, with the Glyph (additive).

With a dagger, it would look like this:

(( AP / 14 ) * 1.7 ) + avg.WpnDmg ) * 1.25 = Your average non-crit Ghostly Strike damage.

((( AP / 14 ) * 1.7 ) + avg.WpnDmg ) * 1.25) * 1.4 = Your average non-crit Ghostly Strike damage, with the Glyph (multiplicative).

I think this makes Ghostly Strike worth the Energy now. Unless you're taking on instance bosses or elites, you probably wouldn't use GS more than once per combat anyway, so the cooldown doesn't really mean much.

This rocks when coupled with Evasion/Evasion Glyph, and if you have it, Preparation.
