This is likely to be a big upgrade to any caster who sees it drop. This trinket makes up for approx. one-third of the hit a Shadow Priest needs to be capped, and a similar amount for other classes. Since Violet Hold is short and not too hard, it's worth adding to your wishlist.

This is a very nice trinket if you need hit cap casters need bout 370 hit which = 14% +3% from talent.

This is a decent item to use to get to hit cap on melee until you get hit capped through gems, enchants, etc. I would NOT suggest you roll on this as melee if there is a caster in the group, that would be lame.

For all of you mages out there with the 2 set piece of T7, you can stack the two spell power effects. I use a macro for all of my cds, combustion, icy veins, and then /use mark of the war prisoner /use mana sapphire. Also, i'm curious as to if anyone has seen the upgraded version of this trinket, more hit, more spell power click? Thanks.

Heroic violet hold. I play arcane/fire mage this trinket is the bomb. 2pc heroes or valorous mana gem spellpower stacked with this trinkets use feature is a nice front load of on demand burst damage. No other trinket like it in the game currently. THIS TRINKET ROCKS! so much so in fact I logged in to make a comment about it if you happen to obtain this trinket hold onto it.

It's probably my bad luck, but this thing seems to have a horrible drop chance. Then again, I know of guildies who had to do VH more then 15 times to get the bracers.

Ah well, lucky me that I have a Naxx 25 guild, so I can get a Dying Curse if all else fails.

I can see this being as good as the melee version from H Nexus for certain builds of Enhc. Shaman. Not a popular view probably, but an enhc. shaman can get up to 65-70% of their damage from spell-dmg effects before including fire totems. Also, flametongue weapon (spell effect) will not proc off white dmg misses, which makes 'white damage' misses include a good bit more dmg than just white dmg.

Ideal, actually, would be to get both and the H. Nexus melee version.

I use it on my shaman when I'm enhancment speced, and it's perfect for filling the +hit gap normally closed by having a SP in your raid. So whenever I'm raiding without a SP I use this - I have yet to see a balance druid to take Imp FF unless forced to do so, but if he keep it up I'll use a more suited one :)

IMO, this trinket is even better than Dying Curse ( https://www.cuckhead.com/wotlk/item=40255 ) because it gives you the ability to stack your buffs at the same time, instead of the random proc of a lot of other trinkets you see in WotLK. As a raiding mage, stacking ~340 more spell power while BL and Icy Veins is up is very nice.

I wish there were an epic upgrade that was 'use' instead of random proc.

Battlemaster's Accuracy has 95 hit and a reasonably useless health function. Mark of the war prisoner has 73 hit and 346 sp for 20 sec (every 2 min). By my cipher, the use function is worth (at best) 58 sp. Isn't 73 hit plus 58 sp better than 95 hit, even if one is not quite hit-capped by missing that last 22 hit?

Why would Blizz make a blue heroic (easy-mode) trinket so much better than an epic team-rating-required trinket?

Currently I have this and Sundail of the Exiled as my trinkets. Im a raid specced frost mage and I was wondering what the next step up (Im assuming there is one) is for me. I looked at the Illustration of the dragon soul but it doesn't seem to be better than either of these. Can someone help point me in the right direction and give their opinions? Thanx.

Such a desirable trinket for fresh caster 80s who need to reach the hit cap.

I saw it drop twice, only once when I was on one of my caster characters. My elemental shaman, his first time in heroic VH... There was a poorly geared arcane mage in the group who died 3 times. Needless to say, his friend was the group leader and master looted the last boss. I was told I couldn't have the caster bracers or the enhancement gloves for offspec. I was told the trinket was mine regardless, no one wanted it.

Trinket drops, he gives it to the mage... They put me on ignore and thats that.

Have yet to see this trinket drop again :(
