The old repair bot, the 74A is much less expensive.

However, this one appears to have several charges,5 to be exact as well as selling high level reagents, vials, poisons, ammo etc.

also note it's name is 110G, as it costs approximately that much to make it.

In case anyone is wondering how long it will take them to farm the recipe, I got mine in about 25 kills. Wowhead droprates are skewed low for recipes that only a person with the appropriate profession can get. Judge the droprate for yourself.

Probably take a little farming to pick up your schematic unless you're pretty lucky. Day 1 on my server they were farmed pretty heavily. This morning was better. I was able to circle the camps. Between yesterday and today I probably killed about 50 of the little dudes. But I did get the schematic. Farm in the morning, you'll have better luck.

Took me 1 hour to farm. Sometimes the Gan'arg Analyzer turned friendly, so I couldn't kill them, if that happens, fly to next camp.

The mats are really cheap, because it creates 5 repair bots, not 1 like the old one.

I got my schematic after about the 8th kill. And it does make 5 charges i went and made one right away. If you are a miner it doesnt cost 110G to make you can farm all the mats easily. The primal fire is mined out of fel iron ore which you need for the handfuls of fel iron bolts.

I'd say it's worth it to make at least one for repair *and* reagent emergencies and you don't have time/rep to visit vendors outside. Having group buff and battle res reagents would be extremely useful.

Went up to BE with my rogue friend that is also an engineer. We went through 6-8 "clusters" of Gan'arg Analyzers and got the first one (20-30 min) - Then decided to try for one more drop. 4 "clusters" later and he has the drop also.

8 x 6 pr cluster = 48mobs to get it first time approx.

Just got this to drop after doing 3 sets of analyzers so we're talking about 15ish kills. Seems to be a pretty high drop rate and not too hard to farm. I leveled up from 370 to 375 making the bots.

Also, it's BoP. The robots are not BoP pretty usefull if you have several eng in your group and you spoiled the CD for any reason (struture bugs like in ZA for example). Also, as Uglie mentionned it takes you to 375 for a cheap price.

6th mob for me. It dropped and my smile shined :)
So now i'm selling this in AH like hell.
It appears that in my server there are many lazy engineers.
So 60-100g per 5 bots isn't that bad since i'm miner and mats are easy to get for me...
Also skill is easily increased from 365 to 370. It goes yellow at 370 but i was lucky that every bot i make gave me 1 skill.
So this mechanical bastard is not just handy in raids but also in peaceful times standning in AH and waiting to be taken by the lazy ones i mentioned earlier..

If you're wondering about the horribly low dropchance, it's probably because non-engineers can't see the drop, meaning that only engineers with the wowhead client, have reported the schematic drop.

I think the drop rate may be slightly scewed since peple were looting this mob long before Schematic: Field Repair Bot 110G was added. Personally I got the drop after six mobs, I may just be lucky but it would seem the drop rate is well above 0.2%

I don't know why people down rated the comments that said it took a while for it to drop. I -JUST- got mine on my third trip out. Each time I killed all 6 Gan'arg Analyzers at each of the four Apexis Monuments (that would be 24 per day).

Today I killed all of them at each monument and did 3 and a half full laps.

Took roughly 130 kills. (Maybe 2hours in total). Don't worry too much though - it will drop eventually.^^

That might be 18-20 kills before I got it.

This drop has to be the easiest way to level engineering from 360 to 375. I picked it up after hitting 360 with the normal grind of goggles, flight machine, more goggles, mats, etc....

Truth be told pairing up with a bud while grinding these mobs really helps because they have a nasty explosion that hits melee when they die (dunno if it hits ranged too). Took us about an hour or so to grind the mobs till we found a drop but totally worth going back there for 3 days imo; if it hadn't dropped in that hour I would have gone back till it did.

Not only does it help you hit 375, but you can do a big favor for your guild at the same time too! 75 Repairbots, anyone?

I became an Engineer three days ago, powerlevelled it to 300, gonna do to 375 as soon as the auctionhouse gets the mats restocked, I really cleaned it out >.> but I digress, I found this schematic on the first Gan'arg Analyzer that I killed on my way to do that Apexis Relic quest. The schematic drop percentage is wrong because it also counts non-engineers drops and since only engineers can see this it makes the drop rate seem lower.

In fact I asked a friend to summon me up there and after three kills I'm the proud owner of a Field Repair bot schematic.

I dont think the drop chance is quite as low as 0.3%, the other day while I was doing my BEM dailies It dropped for me. I am assuming based on this that the drop chance is a little bit higher than 0.3% as I tend to avoid those mobs because of their nasty explosion when they die and so have only killed a handful of them. Maybe it was luck or maybe the drop chance is a lot higher than people think?

This is really easy for a Protection Paladin to get, as the only ability those mobs have got is the explosion for like 400-ish damage upon death, took me about half and hour and 72 kills to get it :)

Yesterday I killed 165 of the Analyzers, today I killed 240 so far. Considering I'm exalted with Ogri'la and Shat'ari Skyguard I must have killed tons of these guys before but it has never dropped.

As a budding engineer, I got this on my 3rd cluster of the mobs. I think there are about 7 or 8 per cluster, so maybe after 15 kills or so? Really simple to get and well worth it. Not just for grinding those last points of engineering, but the item created is extremely useful. And they aren't soulbound so they are great to distribute to other engineering guildies!

I have been farming for this every other day for about 2 weeks. Takes me (lvl 80 fire mage) about 20 mins or less to make the round, including time for respawn from last round and drink/eat breaks. Oh, and the occasional sparkly (ore vein). I'd do 5-6 rounds.

So tonight, while on round 3 and waiting for a respawn, I decide to check my engineering list. Everyone seemed to have such good results with drop rate. Sure enough, there it was. No clue when I'd gotten it. I don't think I'd ever been there before. My fellow guildies talked me into dropping quests and going to Northrend as soon as I hit 68. I've only done 2 quests in that zone.

Normally, when I have looted a schematic, it gives me the warning of "soulbound" when I loot it.

And it only drops from the Analyzer guys?

Got this today after 3 kills. I pulled an entire camp without meaning to and it dropped off the third one.
I know a lot of people have farmed this, my friend spent a whole day farming for it and got it after 5 or so hours later.

The mobs that drop this can be found in 4 locations, here they are fom north to south:
28.7, 46.5
33.4, 51.7
31.7, 63.7
27.3, 68.4
All of which are found at the Vortex Pinnacle in Blade's Edge Mountains.

I got mine in about 5 minutes, killing the mobs starting at the farthest north and ending after killing about half of them at the last one.

Got mine after about the 7th kill. Wasn't counting. All I know is I cleared them once (In a group of five), didn't drop, came back after they respawned and killed about 2-3 more and it dropped. Either I'm joining the ranks of the lucky ones or the drop rate isn't that bad.

I started farming this item shortly after I had finished getting the Felsteel Boomstick over on the other side of the zone. Considering I spent an aggregate of possibly 12-15 hours camping the other I was expecting this one to take forever to drop, but it dropped on about the 20th mob. It's a handy item to have, even in one's 70's, at least until you get the Scrapbot. And it stacks in groups of 5, unlike the older 74A which was good only for one use. :)

The drop rate stated by Thottbot is for ALL kills on that mob <> it does not seperate it from Kills made by engineers > and THOSE are the only ppl that will see that no drop recipie.
there are many examples of this ... like the adamantite arrow maker recipie off sunfury archers..says 0% but engineers usualy get it in 2-20 kills

Confirmed that a couple of the Gan'Arg Analyzers were mysteriously friendly, while the others were unfriendly and attackable. Too bad one of the friendly ones couldn't just sell me the schematic! ;)

the drop rates is worst than the Khorium Scope, I have been killing these things for days and nothing. Hoping by voicing my complaint on Thottbot that the Thottbot gods will grant me my schematic....it worked for the Khorium Scope schematic :P

the best thing about this one over the old 74a bots is that they are vendor npcs that have all the regeants necessary for raiding, carries imbued vials and crystal vials, some rogue poison items ( not certain as to the quality of the items but presuming it is endgame), and occasionally has mana pots, health health pots, and scrolls for very cheap prices. whereares the old 74 a just repaired and vendored stuff and had some useless engineering items for sell.

GAH! A whole day killing these things, waiting for the respawns (which suck). 449 engineering, cleared each spot at least 6 times. No dice. :(

Well I got the jeeves schematic yesterday, and got all the parts to make it except the 20 110g repair bots. I tried farming this last night to no avail. Maybe posting might bring some luck? >.>

EDIT: Wtf? 2 mins after I post, it drops off my 6th kill. DUDE :D

Confirmed dropping in phase one of TBC classic. The demons are up there even though none of the ogri'la faction members are. Took me about fifty kills just looping around and clearing all the Simon Says machines.

Okay so I tried to kill the Gan'arg guys for about 30 minutes and didn't get the pattern to drop. I was low in my engineering skill, 335 or so. I came back at 370 and it dropped on the first mob.
May be engineering skill reliant.

Confirmed to drop off of Gan'arg Analyzer Blades Edge Mountain in TBC Classic, they are located in the Orgi'la area, took about 20 minutes of farming to get mine.

They drop from Gan´arg Analyzer, so you dont have to just look for simon unit.

Got this in P1 Classic TBC at 34,51 off a Gan'arg Analyzer (Ogrila - Vortex Pinnacle). I'd just been up to The Crystal Spine but all the mobs near the "simon" game crystals are ethereals. 370 Gnomish Engineer at the time of the kill

I used the unitscan addon to see if this would work. i kept getting a scan hit for "Simon Unit" at the North western camp. Even when all the Gan'arg Analyzer were killed and you did a /reload, unitscan would still disocover a "Simon Unit" but you couldn't target what it was scanning. idk if its related but on the 2nd clearing of that camp the Schematic dropped.

Maybe unitscan can detect which camp it'll spawn at, or maybe unitscan just scans a untargetable item listed as "Simon Unit" at that camp.
*Edit - Went back to that camp and now unit scan isn't hitting anything. maybe it CAN predict the spawn location.

Very high drop chance (At least on TBC Classic). Literally killed 5 mobs and got it in less than a minute.

Im at about 175 kills with no drop yet.... Not sure on the drop percent, any opinion I could give would just be anecdotal, but I feel like I'm terribly unlucky based on others drops. If you are having $%^&ty luck and are reading this at a later date, you are not alone.

Summoned my Level 58 Paladin to Blade's Edge, 319 Engineering.
With help from a level 70, after about 20 kills my Paladin looted the schematic. This should confirm that neither low player level nor low engineering level should interfere with the drop rate.

Got it in about 5-7 mins of farming the Gan'arg analyzers. 3ish packs on the guardian stones

Confirmed that this pattern does drop after Wrath pre-patch. Easy to obtain - took about 20 kills of Gan'Arg Analyzer. Character level 70, eng 363.

I can not confirm this but you might need to be 360 engy for these to drop. I was at 358 and killed around 20 with no drop. I went and leveled two more points and had them drop on the second kill.

Took me 94 kills of the Gan'arg Analyzers today in WOTLK prepatch, was almost starting to think it couldn't drop anymore.

WotLK Classic, Alliance. 7 full camps of 6 mobs each, the schematic dropped on the first mob of the 8th camp, so 43 mobs total. 371/450 Engineering when it dropped.
