The lack of MP/5 on this makes it far and away better then the Hunter tier 5 helm.

Survival Hunters would love this as well, ignoring the socket bonus and just stacking straight AGI into this, you can get comparable AGI to the tier 6 helm.

Nice alternative to the T5 helm -- one of those "whichever comes first" things. The lack of a meta socket is fairly painful, but needs proper comparison against the 140 armor ignore.

It is indeed a very nice helmet for a hunter. However, the lack of a meta slot means you won't be able to use the meta gem - Relentless Earthstorm Diamond which gives +3 crit damage and 12 agility.

An upgrade over Demonstalker Helmet perhaps but not much of an upgrade, if any, over Riftstalker Helmet condering the loss of the meta gem slot coupled with the small stat upgrade/sidegrade.

Though, the loot in ZA seems to be directed at filling the gear void between karazhan and SSC so it's most likely intended to be that way.

This just dropped last night, and being the only hunter in the group and no shamans, I was awarded this. Although, I don't think I'll be putting this on over my Surestrike Goggles v2.0.

The reason why i think blizzard put this in is for Surv raid specced hunters like myself. I use the t4 helm and mostly geared ZA/BOJ. This helm has no meta socket, which means u can stack all the agi u want, not only in helm but in all gear. With no meta requirements this would be a tremendous agi upgrade to a surv hunter of my gear lvl, thus more dmg to raid, which is a surv hunters primary responsibility.

This helm totally depends on your build. This is one of the best SV hunter helms in the game. It is not solely based on the fact that it alone has 66 agi (3 delicate crimsons), but that it does not have a meta socket, which means you dont have to pander to the meta gods, which would account for another 20-60 agility loss before talents. This helm allows you to completely gem Delicate Living/Delicate Crimson in your gear, making it superior to the t5 helm.

This only applies to SV spec hunters though, and BM would definately see a benefit in the Rift Stalker, as they aren't as concerned with Gemming as the agi sensitive hunter build. Definately take the t5 helm if presented to you, but don't pass this one for the t4 helm, this is far superior to that helm for every build, just don't be a socket !@#$%.

For raw hunter DPS, this helm is only slightly better than the Demon Stalker Greathelm, mainly because it has no meta-gem slot for a Relentless Earthstorm.

However, this helm carries more armor and considerably more stamina and intellect, leading to much better endurance while firing away. Therefore, it's a considerably superior piece.

Also, anyone stacking armor penetration will naturally prefer this piece.

This is a pure SV helm. The lack of the meta gem is because that most SV hunters do not sacrifice their gem sockets to make that 12+ agility +3% crit damage to work. That and if you put 10+ agi into this helm rather than your t5 helm, you come out with even more agility.

this helm will be very nice for enhancement shammies in the talent patch, since we will be getting 1 ap from both AGI and INT if specced for it, makeing it a total of 143 AP not counting gems or socket bonus

It does indeed. Contingent downed him and his 4 friends today on Shattered Halls. A great fight, well designed instance. Good job Blizzard.

This is a nice upgrade from Tier 4 hunter helm. The three sockets gives better customization than a red and meta socket, and I don't have to worry about keeping the meta requirement active.

Yes, it's ugly as hell but I keep my helm graphic off anyway.
