As of 2.3 the Mage received a new spell (Ritual of Refreshment). Knowing Tome of Conjure Food VIII is a requirement before the new spell can be learned.

The price on this tome has skyrocketed since 2.3, when it became a necessity to learn Ritual of Refreshment. I've seen ridiculous prices of up to 300g. Personally, I won't buy it for more than 50g, because it's simply not worth more in my opinion.

why can you get this for like 35g on some realms but on others (like tanaris) people are asking almost 500g for it... no way is this worth 500g.

as a matter of fact some jackass tried to sell me one out of AH for 40g more than it was posted for in ah. wtf?

I just paid 39g on ANDORHAL. Since I am currently not guilded and there was only 1 on the AH; I bought it. But seeing everyones comments about price i see it was a fair price. My auctioneer only listed 1 price too, I wonder why...

I think this is required now in order for mages to use patch 2.3's new spell that creates a refreshment table; is that right? It seems my trainer won't teach it to me until I have the next highest rank of conjure food, which isn't available from her...If so, I would expect the price of the tome to go up, sadly.

Had this drop from a Level 60 Orc whilst attempting the Blood Boiling Quest, quite surprised as a Lv 70 item. No idea how much demand will be for such an item although I'll soon find out!

a steam-pump overseer in Zangarmarsh dropped this. Since this is a random mob drop and not a boss drop, I think a reasonable price to put this on AH is about 150 to 200g. Unless you are in a raid guild just give it to your fellow mage and they will probably return you the favor.

I agree with the posts that was made on the water for this level!

Guild members should give these Tomes to the mages in the guild for Free!

After all everyone expects free water, free food from us when they need! Why should we pay for the tools to create it?

Otherwise as another wise person said, if i have to pay to get these toms im starting to charge for water and food as well!:)

This book goes between 25-50 gold on our server.

Seeing that it costs 6 gold to post it, you hardly see any in the AH, usually adverts in the trade channel.

With the new spell- Ritual of refreshment in latest patch- every mage is gonna want it. Price is going up. I got lucky and found one on trade chat. Bought for 50G- they obviously didnt know what they had.

Sometimes I wonder about what people post...but I'll give it to you straight.

First, water (glacial) and food (croissants) do not require reagents to conjure.

Second, the new mage spell for the refreshment table requires Arcane Powder x2.

On the Aggramar server, the Spell: Conjure Food (Rank 8) goes for about 150-200g and sometimes as much as 350g! If you get the drop, do a mage a favor...pass it on! (If for no other reason than all the food, water and portals the mages of Azeroth have given you.)

I would think that when using the new refreshment spell mages wouldn't worry too much about the reagent...it feeds alot of people for a little cost. It certainly frees up time and mana from having to stand there and *conjure water, conjure food* for 10 mins to water/feed a 10 man raid!

Dec. 14 2007. Two of these are on the AH right now on Scarlet Crusade server. Starting bid 250g, but out 400g. That's just insane to me. I need it badly because everyone expects you to just be able to train table food. But you have to have this tome and the Tome of Conjure Water VIIII to be able to train table food. And I got the water tome for around 40g.

Seriously, people are greedy ass people. Been trying to find this for my mage, everyone cries when I can't make a table so they can get FREE food and water, which I don't mind giving free food/water. But damn, don't gourge the mages with outrageous prices and then DEMAND free food/water!

I'm a warlock and I'm expected to Soulstone the healer so we don't wipe (my own equipment taking dmg of course) and make Ritual of Souls so everyone can have healthstones.

Druids buff, Priests buff+++++, Rogues pop boxes, shamans throw party totems everywhere, warriors get to watch their equipment get beat to death.

Kind of a newsflash but pretty much all classes do stuff for each other. That said, if you got the money, sure, pass it on. But it's not insane to expect people to sell items...any items. Saying ZOMG you can't use it and mages do everything! So I guess mage characters sell all their uber warrior gear for cheap because that tank is what keeps them alive? Not on my AH that I've seen.

you all are stupid.. what the mages are saying is that you expect us to HAVE it, but want us to buy the recipe from you, then let you eat for free just because.. it's not the price of the mats or if it even has mats... it's the fact that you expect us to pay 200-300 gold for something YOU want us to have. most mages can do without food or atleast are good with conjure food 7

I say one way to stop this entirely... is for Blizzard to just make the spell learnable from a trainer. Saves us from having to hassle and ninja the tomes from groups and wasting time. Seriously, if they wanna make higher ranks later on, so be it, turn them into books. But for a requirement (Ritual of Refreshment) spell you need to spend over +100g from the AH or farm ceaselessly for the books is completely &*!@#$ed. It's not worth it, unless you have gotten the book already on a alt or something.

As the only 70 mage in my guild everyone asks me when u gonna get this or that, but no one wants to fork out any money to buy items such as these(currently oubidding for 250g on Eredar). Including the fact that the GM has denied me $$ from the guild bank to purchase. I'm sorry but I'm not shelling out caviar to bums, especially when i also have to supply arcane powder to conjure as well. I suggest if it drops for you, if there's a mage hand it over, it still serves your purpose.

I got super lucky. I flew to nagrad with the intention of grinding cobra scales, popped one of the snakes and it dropped this! I couldnt beleive it. lol. On the hydraxis server this goes for about 150g.

BTW, I'm not saying that you guys shouldnt charge for food/ drinks. By all means do! However, remember you are getting free uber-awesome water/food for free whenever you want it as well. You are also getting spots in high level dungeons when other dps clases are being looked over just bc the raid needs a utility class. I must spend about 4 gold a day when I am griding just to keep me and my pet happy and alive. :/ I would think that with the drops you guys are getting from being allowed in high-level raids more often and getting your own food that it should pay for itself within a couple weeks if you are a hardcore player. IMO of course.

I will chime in here as well. Both the Conjure Food VIII and Conjure Water IX tomes, should be sold (if not given) for a very reasonable fee, and not this outrageous 200-400g charge. Anyone that plays in BG should understand this, although I bet most are more interested in ripping off their fellow players. The benefit mage table a mage gets by having these two tomes is a big bonus to everyone in a group, instance and especially in BG. The drawback is that I have never seen anyone mention or willing to pay anything for a mage to produce a table but most are fully happy to charge them 200-400g for each tome, but then expect them to produce the benefit effect of them for free. These tomes assist your side of WoW (horde or alliance). The produce an effect that gives no benefit to recoup their high expense to get them (unlike many other books), yet greedy players want to rip off their fellow teammates and exepct them to be happy about it and hand out the bonus of them for free.

I am one that almost always gives away what I can to others, but I can guarantee that when I finally do get these tomes, I will never once pop a table for anyone until they pay the costs I had to spend to get. You want a single mana biscuit from me, hand over 800g first. Don't like it? too bad, stop getting people to charge outrageous fees for them, since their benefit is most beneficial not to the mage, but everyone who ever groups with the mage in any instance or BG.

If I made to pay high prices for it, then anyone getting one should expect to pay high prices for any biscuit. Want free biscuits as everyone expects? Then be fair and charge a fair price for the tomes, and mages will be much happier to hand em out to people for free.

I agree not to pay crap prices for it, I wouldn't myself, I actually saw someone selling the food tome and bought it for my friend for 75 gold, hes going to pay me that amount for it, cause i paid it, but then again the other tomes being sold around are higher prices, What I do not agree with is however how you guys want us to pay for a conjured Item, yes im sorry you had to pay a crappy price for these tomes, but im not fixing to take the gold i earned as well and buy something that once i log off disappears, otherwise buying food from a vendor will cost me less, cause if i have to go run a quick errand and lose my bisquits i just spent some gold buying, and then have to buy some more, i just lost my gold cause of a 15 minute disappearing food. Sorry if your so uptight about getting these things for a cheap price or for free, id suggest you get your guildmates together and go run the instances these things drop a few times a day till you get it. I disagree with making 200 gold tomes when its really not worth that, but i do also not agree with charging us gold for something that is only useful until we log out

I have to say, as a mage... I refuse to pay for this or the conjure water book. Both are required for the "table" which is always demanded in BGs, Raids, and groups for instances. You all want free food and water from your friendly mages, but you want to screw us hard core by charging out of this world prices for these Tomes? Sorry, I will not be dropping a table in any BG anymore unless someone wants to fork over one of these tomes to show some love back to the mage.

I play as a paladin and i agree that mages should charge for food. at least that way they could recoup their costs but if they can charge for food then druids can charge for battle rezzes and i can charge for greater blessings ive spent at least 50g on symbols of kings alone for raids.
