This is, from what I'm seeing, probably the best priest/druid/shaman healing weapon in the game, the epic upgrade to Epoch-Mender from the Black Morass/Dark Portal Event. Admittedly, you could get better +healing or (barely) better +mana/5, but the stats on this are just too nice to turn away from.

As far as Shaman are concerned, this staff is good... but there is better. I can't speak for other classes, but look at this Shaman/Pally combo.

Mace/Shield has 4668 more armor than Staff.
Mace/Shield has 115 Block more than Staff.
Mace/Shield has 23 Stamina less than Staff.
Mace/Shield has 4 Intellect more than Staff.
Mace/Shield has 11 more healing than Staff.
Mace/Shield has 1 more M/5sec than Staff.

So.. the Mace and Sheild beat out the staff in everything, except stamina... and for a Shaman or Pally, 230 health isn't that big of a deal, especially when it's countered by the massive increase in Physical Damage reduction.

P.S. I realize this doesn't work for you priests/druids... just showing my fellow Shield-wielding healers a better option than this. =)

for clearcasts, inner focus, innervates, or those small times in fights where you can get spirit regen, ie: while running to the next add on fathom-lord

im a spirit whore but...this is just too damn good

Yes, when I said this was probably the best priest staff, I meant it for my overall design for my priest. Spirit has been pretty marginalized by the fact that most healing I do anymore doesn't allow me to use the five second rule nearly as often as I'd like. Combine that with the fact that I'm more concerned on being a survivalist (ie. not dying or coming close with every AOE or add that's not picked up the instant it spawns) so that I can continue healing for as long as possible. Your mileage and desires for your priest may vary. ^_^

What really sets this staff apart for me is the +stam.

With +50stam on this item, I can now opt for lower stam peices like the primal mooncloth set without nurfing my durability.

Can't wait to get my hands on this.

There's no way this is as good as Exodar Life-Staff (https://www.cuckhead.com/wotlk/item=30732), but it's still about the 2nd best staff, and a bit easier to get (considering kazzak is usually a bitch to kill with 4+ alliance zerging your tank/dying. While meanwhile, mag is a lootbag^max now.

Are the differences with 2 royal nightseye (9 heal 2mp5) and a dazzling talasite (4 int 2 mp5) in the life-staff. A clear advantage in heal stats, thus if you don't need the stam, the life-staff is your choice.

I actually picked this staff up about two weeks ago or so... Two odd graphical issues are associated with it... well... kinda...
1. People claim the staff looks backwards or some such when they hold it. I'd be willing to bet 95% of the people who say this are looking at their character in the dressing room. Yes, it does look goofy in a regular holding animation, but how often does any healer have their staff in that position? If you ATTACK with the weapon, you'll see that you're holding it by the two ends of the "hilt" section. Holding animation has always been based on the top hand of the attack animation, thus, while it may look goofy to just hold one end of it, that's why.
2. Enchants misplaced. This actually is a weirder and, I would argue, more legitimate graphical glitch with the weapon. Enchants occur on the bottom crystal section instead of the top one. For +81 healing, this makes someone look like they have a yellow wispy cloud being... expelled from their backside. -_- I wish I was kidding about that one.
Still, helped me replace some stamina gems with +healing and such, and I'm the envy of every priest and druid healer in our guild... so, whatever. :)

I am a priest. Just picked this up over Lights Justice (https://www.cuckhead.com/wotlk/item=28771) and Aran's Soothing Sapphire (https://www.cuckhead.com/wotlk/item=28728).

Here's the report....

+35 stamina
+7 intellect
-51 healing
+6 mp5

I like the mp5 and stamina, but it still feels like more of a sidegrade. It's lame that we even have to compare Kara loot to Magtheridon loot.

i was tossing up between getting my mace/frill pvp combo or my chest, and this staff made the decision alot easier for me.

sure it doesnt come with resil or as much healing, but theres alot of mp5 there, which is awesome because being a druid in a dreamstate build, ive practically got mp5 coming out of my ears now. +51 stam and +50 int are awesome bonuses

Now that Spell damage and Healing have been combined for spellpower, if you are a DPS caster and willing to sacrifice the second effect of a different staff (like hit rating or crit) for a less favorable MP5 you can gain a rather nice amount of Spellpower from it, especially if you enchant it (end result is a staff with 244 spellpower)

This is indeed a very great priest staff, and I would take this over any staff with the equal amount of spirit anyday. It's all about your playstyle.

Of course this is GREAT for druids as well!

I am a priest specced into improved divine spirit, and I would still use this staff.

The mana per 5 regeneration is superior to spirit in nearly every application, but especially in long fights.

I am a level 70 raid healing Holy Priest (Alliance) on the Skywall server. I got this staff a week ago and put +81 healing on it. My thanks to the hardcore and top notch raiders of Caustic!

It is an awesome staff, and any healing Priest or Druid should want it. The stats on it make it imo better than any of the Karazhan one handed healing maces. I had Light's Justice, and the healer's off hand from Magtheridon, and they are both in storage now. The mp5 is awesome, and the lack of spirit is nothing compared to the benefits of that mp5. For the fights in which you will be after gaining access to this staff, the mp5 will be even more important than before. The extra stamina is truly special for Priests in many fights. Priests in particular need extra stamina, and this staff gives it to you without having to sacrifice other stats. Finally, the appearance of this staff, especially with that enchant on it, will get you attention everywhere you wear it. A Druid could also benefit from this staff.
