I suggest farming this leather in the western part of Hellfire Peninsula, from the ravagers that also drop fel scales.

I suggest not doing that... I suggest gaining Rep with Netherwing, because while youre doing so, if youre a skinner and id assume you are because why else would you be able to farm these, you will get TONS of this, and TONS of Fel Scales, ive got too many, who wants to buy em?

I like to farm these off the Shard-Hide Boars (https://www.cuckhead.com/wotlk/npc=22180) because they also drop Apexis Shards which are good for flasks and therefore money. The drop rate for the leather seems pretty high from them too.

I am farming them from Grishnath Basilisks, i think i've had quite bad luck for now because only 1 dropped out of 10 basilisks. I need 6 for Felstalker Bracers, anyway if you need the scales as well these mobs drop them as well.

Well I needed a bunch of these for my fel stalker set and tried looking up best places to find them. I tried the ravagers, low skinning drop rate. I went to find the basiliks they talked about in blades edge mountains and saw the boars. Figured i would try them and viola, great rates of skinning and good place to farm. Any shard hide boar will do but they tend to be more towards the camps. I am sitting at 30, 70 right now and with about 10 of them running around Ive collected quite abit. Hope this helps

My advice would be buying them off the AH. They're usually very cheap - you'd be better off doing dailys / farming something else and buying the leather.

If you're wondering why this is so cheap heres the reason:
People kill and skin flayers in ShadowMoon Valley for their (https://www.cuckhead.com/wotlk/item=32470) for the quest (https://www.cuckhead.com/wotlk/quest=11016) to get rep with Netherwing for the Netherdrake mount.
With so many people trying for this, they stock up on tons of Crystal Infused Leather, making it super cheap.

Plus, it's only used for 67-70 blues, and many people get better items from instances, quests, and heroics.

So.. yup. Its better to do a quest that gives you a few gold and buy these off the AH for 20s.

It gives a 21% drop rate off the apexis flayer...furthermore says you can skin the apexis flayer...the answer is no you can't the demon boars there are the best drop-rate.

You really don´t need these für leveling LW, every recipe with this as an ingrdient ist 350 oder higher and it is much easier and cheaper to level with borean leather.

Once LW's can get past the 350-360 gap, most patterns require a hefty dose of these.

I needed a bunch of these to make the Felstalker mail armor set, so I decided to grind them off the craghide basilisks in Netherstorm. These guys can be found on the ledges north, east, and south of Mana Forge Ultris, just look out for the other high level mobs in the area.

I had to kill 91 basilisks to get the 19 that I needed, which means that they have a drop rate of about 20.8% (assuming you skin them, duh). Overall, the other drops sucked, but I did walk away with 60 knothide leather, 17 fel scales, and about 14 g in vendor trash.

If anyone finds a better source for these, please post here!

Quite possibly the best place I ever found to get this kind of leather is off of the Ravagers that are right between Hellfire Penninsula and Zangarmarsh. A lot of people right when TBC came out were farming these and were leaving corpses everywhere -- easy pickings and actually got my skinning to 375 from just skinning them all.

I got about 40 pieces of the crystal infused leather in about 1 hour. I also got LOTS of Fel Scales (about double the amount of the Crystal stuff).

Also drops fairly well off of the Scalded Basilisks in Blade's Edge Mountain.

I got a fair share of theese from the Felboars (lvl 70-71) around Ogri`la. They also give felscales.

They drop from dampscale basilisks in Terrokar

i agree w/ Contay found 2 in 5minutes but then again my hunter is only lvl 63 havent rly been all over outland yet
