Adamantite Powder is used in Mercurial Adamantite. Which is used in a number of JewelCrafter items. The other powders are grey named and thus of no use other then selling to the nearest NPC vender.

You need around 325 to Prospect Adamantite.
I can at 328, so I guess 325 is the "mark".

FYI, this can be kept in a mining bag, which is quite handy for miner/jewelcrafters!

I regularly find these on AH for a bit less than vendor price. If you find a few stacks at 3-4g, buy them and vendor for 4.5g a stack.

ok im 450 mine n and 450 JC and i have never got one adamantite powder. and ive mined it 100s of times. What am i missing here ? no powder now n then the use gem but no POWDER. anyone else have this prob.

This might be a dumb question, but did they get rid of the powder at some point? I picked up my jewelcrafting character recently and I notice she NEVER gets powder from prospecting anymore. While when I originally started leveling her, I got powder every single prospect.

So, is it even possible to get this powder anymore?

How do i get 52 of them, the easiest way? I need 13 Mercurial Adamantite, for my JC leveling, and i cant find Adamantite Powder at AH, and Adamantite Ore is 50g pr. stack :(

Its important to Jewel Crafting when you hit 325. Comes from prospecting Adamantite ore. Sells for ALOT on Auction house. Make sure you have Gather mod installed so you can get the ore locations on you map from your guildees running it to.

I am a miner and jewelcrafter. The only way to get the powder is to prospect a stack of five adamantite ore. This will give you one powder.

I've mined quite a bit of adamantite but I've never collected any powder. Is this visible only to jewelcrafters?

By prospecting 5 ores you get 1 powder (and some gems if you're lucky)

i used to get 1 blue gem every 2-3 prospects

now i can prospect 8 time and only get 1

seems it got nerfed

I usually prospect in batches of 6 stacks and always get at least 1 blue, usually a dawnstone and talasite.
Once in every 12'ish stacks I get a living Ruby/Star of Elune.

Nightseye's crop up pretty often, as do Noble Topaz

Yeah, it seems that not only did the rare (blue) gems get nerfed when prospecting--prospecting fel iron ore got REALLY nerfed! It used to be about the same for me for adamantite and fel iron, but now if I prospect a whole 16 slot bag full of 5-stacks, I get maybe one rare gem.

i prospected 5 stacks of fel iron ore and got Star of elune X2 dawnstone X2 and a nightseye so i dont know if its nurfed or not

I am a lvl 375 miner and I have never received ONE adamantite powder. I have received all kinds of gems,

I have 1350 adamantite ore on hand and 200 bars,I have sold 5 times that much adamantite.

JC is lvl 340

What am I missing?

you need to PROSPECT (a jc process) the adamantite ore.

from this, you will get green and (sometimes) blue gems, and powder.

I think I just had the luckiest prospecting time ever. 50 adamantite ore yielded 10 green gems, 2 living rubies, and a star of elune on top of the powder. Happy times!

It seems that prospecting fel iron gives about 1% chance of getting each of the 6 rare gems, adamantite ore gives about 3% chance. These are independent chances so you could theoretically get 2 or more blues, and the chance to get at least 1 would be around 5.8% on fel iron, 16.7% on adamantite.

As these are very low probabilities, getting an accurate reading would require prospecting many thousands of stacks. I would be interested to hear if anyone has done that and measured the results.
