Any idea if you have to have the correct level of blacksmithing to get these to drop? I've farmed them these guys a few times and have never seen them, but I wasn't at 360 Smithing yet, so that could possibly be the reason. Thoughts?

I farmed for this pattern for about 6+ hours one day, no luck with the drop. Came back the next and got it on my 5th for the day. So be persistant if you want the recipe!

As a Blacksmith, I suggest you use these Plans to level your Blacksmithing from 360 to higher. Other 360+ Plans require most likely a reputation. For example Aldor and Scryer. The time spend on getting at least friendly or even honored (for the 100% skillup chance) could be better spend at an item more profitable, with cheaper mats. These Plans seem to have a decent droprate, making it the best, cheapest, and most profitable to level your Blacksmithing from the ''200g or higher'' gap from 360-375.

Drops from Murkblood Raiders. Drop rate is not all that low really.. Dropped on 3rd kill for me. Set is a rather nice pally set but there are better items out there. good for leveling bsmithing. good luck to others that it doesnt drop right away for.

Took me about 200 kills before i dropped. Very easy spot to farm. They usually come 2 at a time. They are very easy to kill. Be sure to wait between the pull because they can stack a couple sunders making you a little squishy.

As told before by someonelse, go counterwise and you should have no problem finding them. There is 3 patrol (2 in each) and the rest are alone. Respawn rate is also good. You can get on a same farming run about 20 of them before you go for another run.

Drop rate was pretty bad for me. It took about 5 hours of farming across two days to get this. To compare.... I had about 400 netherweave when I was done so judge accordingly.

On my third day of attempts, about 6 hours put in so far. 20 stacks of netherweave, a Furies card, some greens, around 100 Halaa dust and I've gone to Honored with Kurenai doing nothing but farming this mob. I'd give all of that up for the pattern that hasn't dropped yet......

Did I mention I've done almost the entirety of level 68 on this? 600k+ xp....

While farming for these plans, you'll get good rep with Kurenai. I was getting 11 rep per kill, as a human with the rep bonus.

Last night went there for first time. On 3rd kill the plans dropped. BOP item. I am lvl 67 and my blacksmith / axesmithing is at lvl 342.

I stored it in the bank, not sure if this belt will ever be helpful or if dungeon drops will be better for plate wearer's.

According to mats prices on my server, farming this recipe is the cheapest way to get to 375 BSing. Right now I've killed about 150 of these buggers. Still no recipe =(

Really easy farm for me. I guess I am just very lucky. Took about 50 kills and less than 30 minutes and the plans dropped. I was at 360 BS when they dropped and at 372 they're still yellow.

Nice 'cheap' way to get to 375 BS if you don't already have the Felsteel gloves pattern. If you're looking to save gold, however, don't look to this pattern to take you to 375 for free. Go for the Felsteel gloves drop.

Once I found out where these drop, I decided to spend some time farming for them. I thought it would take a while to get them, but I got them on my 5th or 6th kill. So yea, I got lucky, but it is manageble.

the droprate is off, but because these are mainly farmed by blacksmiths, its not that far off. just reading through this comments section and my own experience the rate appears closer to .6, granted three times better than whats listed. what a rush when it finally drops though.

I've been farming here for 3 days now, must have killed over 500 raiders in that time, if gained Kurenai reputation is any indication, but so far, no plans. I'm beginning to doubt if they will ever drop.

Edit: They finally dropped. I almost suffered a heart attack when they did, I was so chuffed!

Dropped for my paladin on the 75th or so kill. Very easy grind, just follow the path around the village. Even as a retribution paladin with 18 total spell damage I was killing off the smaller adds along the way with one consecrate + retribution aura. The mobs respawn pretty fast, and the first ones had usually respawned by the time I circled back around to where I started.

Dropped for me after roughly 500 kills. Took me quite some time, but in the process i gained almost 6000 rep with Kurenai, ~120 Gold, ~700x Netherweave Cloth, ~90x Oshu'gun Crystal Powder Sample and ~35 greens.

So, even though it takes a while to farm, it's not that boring considering you'll get alot of other items and reputation meanwhile.

I have 360 skill and this crap recipe hasnt dropped for me in 600 kills all i get is a super mana pot. Im thinking after last patch that the recipe doesnt drop off of these anymore.

Dropped for me on my 2nd visit to farm there, I'm figure about 60-80 kills to get it in total.

Got a lot of green drops, bundles of Netherweave and the usual greys.

Less than an hour of fun killing in total for me, I would recommend farming this ahead of trying to solo farm the felsteel gloves plans!

I should also add that I used this as an opportunity to skill up in Axes (low skill 275), thus I was getting plenty of misses, had I used my swords in dual wield (350) it would have been faster - more like 40 mins or so to farm this!

Well, I am becoming bitter! I must've been farming these yokes for about a day or two, game time, and still no drop.

I've ground the raiders - and the other mobs plus the odd alliance player - for two to three hours straight more times than is healthy. I'm starting to think they will never drop :(

There's no hidden class requirement tied to this? I don't have to be a pally blacksmith for them to drop, do I?

But like several above posters have stated - to grind these mobs is very easy. They are simple melee mobs and the trash near them drop in one or two hits.

Edit: Finally got it this morning. It's just a matter of being patient - keep at it for long enough and the plans will drop.

After about three days of farming for two or three hours a day, I finally installed a kill-counting mod, just to keep myself from going too nuts... got the plans on my 50th kill exactly O_O

As a Fury Warrior, I noticed that with all the Scavengers, which you can pretty much one-shot, that you can alternate 3-pulls of scavengers and victory rush them all (for a ton of free rage), and then hit the Raiders with BT/WW/HS nice and easily. Basically, if everything has respawned, you can pretty much go through the entire camp with endless rage >:-) (This method is great for leveling weapon skills too, especially 2h'ers, since you get so many extra swings.)

This pattern dropped for me when I was doing the quests for the Maghari Procession thats nearby. It was only about 10-15 kills in and then the plans dropped. So the drop rate is wrong on here. As someone stated before you need to be a blacksmith for the plans to drop.

EDIT: This plan is the cheapest way to lvl your blacksmithing from 370-375. On my server it cost around 40g to get all the mats to make one belt, so it was 200g total to get the last five points.

For those of you farming the plans, bear in mind that it appears the Raiders, Scavengers and Putrifiers do not share spawn points. So you can either do full clears for rep, or just focus on the Raiders alone.

Spent 2 hours farming for this last night between 02-04. Good time to farm there cause I had the whole place for myself.
I would recomend people to go there at crazy hours, cause there are a lot of people questing there from both factions otherwise.

I farmed these for 3 days killing Murkblood Raiders at Sunspring in Nagrand. The plans finally dropped for me tonight. I made some nice gold in drops and money dropping off of mobs. I also farmed a lot of Adamantite and the things that come from that type of vein.

I can now make this belt on Medivh.

3-30-2007 - Here is updated information:

I farmed for the plans for the entire set: Khorium Belt, Khorium Boots and Khorium Pants.

I started farming Deathforge Guardians in Shadowmoon Valley first for the Khorium Pants. I died about 8 times that first night due to getting ambushed repeatedly by multiple mobs that caused lots of fire damage and mobs that disrupted my healing spells. That's okay. I learned some fighting lessons (lol). I farmed for about 4 hours killing a lot of Guardians and Summoners, but the plans didn't drop. I returned a second night and farmed for about another 4 hours, but the plans didn't drop. This time, however, instead of farming near the entrance to the cave, I farmed well away from there at the general grounds around the path leading down to the cave. The Guardians spawned pretty quickly, but the plans didn't drop.

I decided to try for the plans for the Khorium Belt at Sunspring in Nagrand by killing Murkblood Raiders. I farmed for 3 days killing the Raiders and just about everything in camp. I mined some Adamantite veins and earned lots of gold in mob silver and drops. The plans dropped on that 3rd day.

After spending 2 days helping a friend and farming for Motes of Water to make the armor for myself, I went to Netherstorm and farmed for the Khorium Boots by killing Disembodied Protectors. I also farmed for Motes of Mana off of the Mana Wraiths that are across the road from the Disembodied Protectors. It was a win-win area for me to farm. After 2 days of farming (4 hours total), the plans dropped.

An hour after the plans for the boots dropped in Netherstorm, I returned to Shadowmoon Valley to get the plans for the pants. After about 30 minutes there (8 guardians killed), the plans dropped.

So, from start to finish, it took me one week of farming 2 to 4 hours per night after work to get all 3 plans for the set.

I can now craft the entire set on Medivh. Contact Zaki, if you want any or all of the set.

This one took the longest of all to drop for me. Four days I spent about 2 hours each day grinding for this one. The others for the set dropped in the first day within 2 hours. Just keep grinding em over and over and itll drop.

the drop rate is so low because in order for it to drop you need have 360 blacksmithing. So a lot more are being killed then people who can make the drop drop.

I used these plans to skill up from 360-370 in BS. It's a little on the steep side price wise unless you don't mind spending the time farming Primal Waters and Primal Manas, and Khorium is often sparse too, but it was direct. Stays red all 10 points. And usually you can make back a little profit in the craft on the AH, so long as you don't post all of em at once when others are already up.

I 'NEVER' get lucky farming for drops (took 3 days for my JCer to get 'Chaotic Skyfire Diamond'), but I arrive at Sunspring Post, which is very easy to pick out the Raiders without aggroing anything else, Grabbed a Patrol of 2, and one stationary at once, went to loot all 3, and there it was on the 3rd one.

First: These plans are BoP, however they only show up for Blacksmiths (even in a party) any level smith that can get the plans to drop can pick them up, you just may not be able to use em till you skill up.

Second: If you can wear plate, you can wear these, however, only Blacksmiths get the set bonus

Third: The only Mob that drops these is the Murkblood Raiders in Nagrand. It is not a world drop. It is also the worst drop rate for any of the BoP BC smithing plans. (Trust me, getting these plans is harder than getting a full set of felsteel plans...)

At level 70 I've been stuck at 360 blacksmithing for quite a while now. I have all 3 ragesteel patterns, a couple of the felsteel patterns and an epic Steelgrip Gauntlets patterns. All of them require 365+ and I couldn't see burning tons of Primal Fire/Primal Water to create the Flamebane recipes. This is when I decided to farm these patterns. At level 70 it took me about 2.5 hours to obtain all three. Here is where they drop:

Belt: Murkblood Raiders - Nagrand
Pants: Deathforge Guardian - Shadowmoon Valley
Boots: Disembodied Protector - Netherstorm

The longest pattern to farm was the boots. The Protectors are spread out over an area with dips and cracks in the ground. A flying mount lets you hop over the areas easier. If you have a Deathforge Key, take the cave all the way to the back end and farm a small area full of Guardians. They dropped a lot of Marks of Sargeras too. And Nagrand was pie at level 70. Just have to compete with people trying to do the quest there.

Call me crazy (and I know a lot of you will), but this is most fun I've had farming as a Holy Paladin. Grab 3-4 raiders, a couple groups of Scavengers and spam out Consecration. A couple of rounds later all the Scavengers drop (/smile), keep up with Consecration kill off the Raiders and loot! Good Rep, excellent coinage, a green drop or two here and there and easy, easy crowd control.

The drop rate is horrible - 198 for me as of this posting and no drop, but I'm making good rep and good coin as well!

I picked up the boots on the third kill. I've grind these now for a week. I think my tally has now passed about 5k Murkblood Raiders.

I'm just hoping, like with some of the other Khorium recipes, that complaining here will give me the luck I need!

Actually levelled entirely through 69 to 70 farming in Sunspring village ... 779,000 exp, no khorium belt plans. Several blues, over 500 Netherweave cloth, 200+ G in grey items and coin ... NO PLANS. I am inappopriately resentful of those of you that have these plans. This drop rate bites.

Finally ... it dropped. I farmed Sunspring everyday for a week, for between 30 minutes and 2 hours ... lvl'd entirely from 69 to 70 killing Murkbloods, dropped off a raider this morning ... thank you Light. Good news is netherweave and crystals are abundant

Well....seems like posting on here bring luck in drops so I'll try mine. I have all 4 ragesteel, only took at most a few hours each plan, got the other 2 khorium plans, no troubles but this one has eluded me for AGES. I've gone and come back 3 times of the the course of trying to get these plans and this is the one that just wont drop. I'm startin to think they aren't even there!
