Khorium mining nodes are not currently in the game. Word is blizzard replaced their nodes with fel iron and adamantium in order to help the massive demand for skill ups. Expect to see it in the next couple days.

Well, due to laws of economics which I don't understand, Khorium is now much cheaper than Throrium on my server (gnomeregan - alliance) and is close to the price of Mithril...go figure

Something that I have noticed that continues to bother me about khorium is the fact that it sells for less than Eternium wich just makes no sense because anyone who has mined adamantite ore for any period of time knows that the eternium rate in adamantite nodes is far greater than the odds of you finding a khorium node in the path of your favorite mining routes.

I'm also not basing this selling average on just wowhead...my server is disgustingly this way as well and I just can't stand it.

The trainer to smelt Khorium is in Honor Hold. The Ironforge trainer can't do it.

Khorium is definitely the hardest mineral to find in the game. Though it can be found everywhere in Outlands, the spawn rate of these nodes is very low.

However, I have had a lot of success finding these nodes. If you have the Find Minerals skill, this becomes extremely easy. You will also need a flying mount (Epic makes this very fast). What I have done, is fly a patrol around the furthermost boundaries of a zone. Most Khorium mines will spawn near the edges of the map, far off the beaten path. On 2 day intervals of farming I am able to continually hit these spots and make between 10-15 ore on these locations.

To finish the stack, I usually fly over rocky areas accessible by foot. If your lucky you might find a node.

If you are using Gatherer DB (Database), there are a lot of Khorium veins not on the map.

On my server I make profit buying ores and smelting them to Khorium bars. The bars sell for 9-12 gold and while ores are 1-3 gold. Saying max 3 gold per ore takes 2 ore smelt 1 bar = 3-6 gold profit. Honeslty a lot of times to make a little extra gold you buy trade good singles cheap and get a stack and sell for profit. Just make a habbit too look for things when you logg on. If you think it about, most of us sold things way cheaper then it would go for because we only got one. So it can sell faster or we vendor it. I also suggest if there is 10, let say Khorium ore in Ah buy 8 of them and leave 2 that are middle price. Most people will look at what intial price people are selling them for and underbid or even them out. Rinse and repeat. Good luck

tend to find khorium ore mostly in underbog instance in the outlands. hard to find anywhere else.

48* Khorium Ore are needed to make the Turbo-Charged Flying Machine, I was only able to find 6 on the Auction House, and 3 bars. It's very difficult to get these yourself due to the rarity. To make things worse, alchemists are not able to transmute Khorium (like they can with Titanium and Silver etc).

This is very frustrating... I hope that Blizzard provides an alternate way to make Khorium. It doesn't even drop off mobs, so you can't farm it (like I am for Primal Fire) either.

WoTLK has abolished the Khorium value, now make them more readily available blizzard!

Khorium Ore isn't that difficult to obtain, it just needs to be actively farmed rather than searched for. What this means is the following:

Simply select a zone and start mining everything there, continually going around in circles. Every Outland vein you mine has a chance of repopping as a Khorium vein. Given that there are far less people in Outland these days than there were before Wrath of the Lich King, the chances are pretty good that you yourself are the next person to arrive at a vein when it has respawned. As long as you keep flying around mining every vein you come across and continue to do so, all the Khorium that repops is usually yours. From my own experience of mining like this in Nagrand, I usually get several Khorium veins each time I complete a circle.

I use two add-ons to help me farm it, which are great to have if you're a miner or herbalist anyhow: Gathermate and Routes. Gathermate keeps track of any veins you've come across, and you can import data from the Gathermate_data add-on so you won't have to discover everything yourself. With Routes you can then calculate the most efficient route to visit all possible spawn points in a zone, and display that route on the map and minimap. This makes the farming simply a matter of following a line and mining every vein you detect near it on your minimap.

This way it's only taken me a few hours to mine all the Khorium for my Turbo-Charged Flying Machine. Hope this helps.

This is posted in the khorium ore node comments but should be here also I think. The best spot to mine this has got to be the isle of quel'danas. Theres only about 5 or 6 adamantite spawns but from the time you mine the first to the last and do a full lap around the isle the first one is spawned again. Very easy to farm khorium here if you get lucky. Once you do the route around the isle a few times its very easy to follow to the ore nodes, they are always in the exact same spots.

Dont expect to get it fast, I think I spent 2 or 3 hours here just farming ore and I ended up with 60x eternium ore, 430x adamantite ore, 29 primal earths, and only 14 khorium ore... Sometimes you just get unlucky and it doesnt spawn.

Here's a little advice from me. I spend about 14 hours grinding in the same spot with my mage it so happened that a hunter came a long and started mining some adamantite in the same area i was grinding. Then i figured ... wait a sec I need adamantite as well on my warr .. so I brought my warr and in 12 hours I managed to get 2 khorium veins to spawn in the same area. Just go grind and mine in one area alone after 3-4 mine respawns you will get a khorium vein 100% .

It's a rare spawn, expect to see one for every 20-30 nodes of other ore out there, so adamantite should respawn as this vein every once in a while.

Requires mining level 375 to mine it, cannot be prospected as it's green (Magic) and is basically the endgame material which can be mined :)

These veins take 375 mining to mine.

Khorium, like silver or gold ore, replaces a current node of all Outlands ore. That means that when a vein of Fel Iron/Adamanatite/ Rich Adamantite respawns after someone mines it, it has a small chance of respawning as a Khorium Vein.

This ore is just like all the other rare ore veins out there. Silver, Gold, etc. So if you find a good spot to mine adamantite stay in that area and you will get one of these nodes to spawn.

I find that the khorium ore spawns at much better rates in shadowmoon valley i just make a big circle around the entire and clean it out. takes about 30 minutes to go around the areas that ore spawns.

Spread out through Outlands, you just have to be patience and keep looking around the whole area.

They can be found almost anywhere, but the problem is that they are quite rare and that is why there is no specific "good" place to farm these. In my opinion it is more a matter of luck if you find it, but keep flying around mining everything you see in outland and eventually it will turn up. Happy farming ^^

I'm a 375 miner, who makes regular runs through the Blade's Edge Mountains to include the Northern and Western areas only accesible by flight. Since beginning my frequent sweeps i have observed, that as stated above, the spawns of these deposits is randomized, however it has also been my observation that they do occur in spots where i would otherwise ordinarily find Fel Iron Deposits/Adamantite Deposits/Rich Adamantite Deposits, favouring the latter respectively. I can also attest that throughout all mining runs throughout TBC i have not been able to chart any regular deposits of any kind.

While some areas typically will have the same regular deposit type spawned there does not seem to be any 100% regularity as far as what will spawn so much as something will spawn.

a great way to find khorium and adamantite is in zangarmarsh just go along the entire border of the zone, stop in the caves if ya like as well, but mainly just circle the zone and youll find alot more ore then i thought id ever find in a marshland area.

Khorium does not have preset spawn locations. Khorium spawn are just the same as silver, gold, and truesilver.

These green ores are the rare spawn of its counterpart vein.

- Silver is the rare spawn of Tin
- Gold is the rare spawn of Iron
- Truesilver is the rare spawn of Mithril
- Khorium is the rare spawn of Adamantite

These rare spawns almost have a completely random spawn points, but some spots have better chances than others. If you farm the better than average spawn points you should have a better than average chance of getting the rare ore.

I saw my very second Khorium Vein today at Sunspring Village in Nagrand. When I tried to mine it a mob attacked me and the mining was cancelled. When I was fighting the mob some other guy came down with his flying mount and mined it.

The fact that I've been in Outland for months now and that I only encountered my second vein says something about the spawn rate, imho. Most veins only yield about two ores, which is one bar. Seeing that gives me about one Khorium bar each two months, what about those blacksmithing plans that require 6 or even more bars?

I agree that not all content is for all lazy people and some stuff is for the people with more effort/patience, but this is just rediculous. Blizz should make the a tiny bit more common.

Same here actually. I've been in outlands for bout 2 months now and I've only seen khorium spawn once. And, tragically, my mining skill was not high enough to mine it.

On the rare occasion that I DO mine it and smelt it, what would the AH price be per bar?

Nagrand ive seen is greaat for adamantite and khorium ive seen many khorium spawns but i havent been highg enuff to mine them. ive seen most of the khoriums aroun the outer edes of Oshu'gun( Auto-70 hunter-Mug'Thol)i also only hit 375 mining last night while i am farming for flyer to get kara keyed =(

I hit 375 about a month ago and have managed to mine about 25 khorium ores since. All in Nagrand. I've had most of my luck making my rounds at 6am, 1pm, and around midnight. This may not work for everyone, but on my server it works for me. Maybe I'm just lucky. I know that khorium is a rare spawn and is completely random, but there is one spot, a hill down near the Spirit Fields, where I've had khorium spawn abuot 4 times.

you can spend days farming that ore... or you can spend an hour doing dailys to buy the ore...

i am a 70 warrior with 375 mining for about 3 monthed now. i have about 3 stacks in the bank and 2 stacks of ore. picked up jewelcrafting about a month ago and just hit 370 with that, just need high level patterns. and surprise, alot require khorium, glad i held on to all of it. you can find it in any outland zone. i may go a couple days without seeing it, and i have encountered 2 nodes in the same zone within an hour.

Since the advent of more chests in outland back a few patches ago, I have actually seen more khorium (both ore and bars) come from chests then from actually being able to mine it....and that is having access to 3 375 mining characters in outland. Mind you, one of those is a dwarf, so he spots the chests easily.

But yeah, as stated ad nauseum above, the veins can appear as a replacement of any ore vein anywhere in outland; rich adamantite seems to have a slightly higher chance of a replacement. The ogre caves in nagrand are sometimes good for that...but they are also getting farmed a lot for kurenai/magthar/consortium rep as well.

It is pure luck if you see one.....even luckier if you get to it first before someone else nabs it!

Just a suggestion to all the 70's on their flying mounts....please try to take into consideration the other players who need to struggle to get to veins most of the time. You have access to much more ways to get money then lower levels, and while many of the khorium-needed-recipes are also lvl 70 required to use, the max level people are not the only ones who need this. If you see someone else fighting near the same vein (or, for that matter, herb) you are hovering over, please wait to see if they are indeed trying to mine (pick)it, and give it to them as a common courtesy.

Please note I am not advocating you dismount to actually HELP them get to the ore/herb, just be considerate of someone less advanced then yourself in the level progression and throw them a bone as far as the ore if they are a miner. If they are not going to mine (pick)it, then go ahead.

This consideration of course goes out the window in PVP active situations :)
