This is actually a good twink ring, at least for those levelling. 6 defense might not seem much, but it adds almost 2% parry and 2% dodge at level 20, which is huge for just a ring. Rating system at work.

On my paladin, I didn't find an upgrade until Razorfen Downs (level 38).

Also, this ring generally sells for very little. I recommend that all melee get this for levelling, even in the 30's this thing adds 1% dodge and parry, and 2% less damage taken is nothing to laugh at from one ring.

Am actually using it on a priest. Usefull for those time when your wanding at melee range, which happens alot with a priest since we don't have pets like warlocks or good cc like mages.

Should help in BGs too whenever you get the odd twink melee on you.

It's a good ring for a 19 twink normally...

It's a fantastic ring for a 19 feral druid twink. Aside from that 6 defence rating, ~~the 20 armor gets roughly doubled by bear form, which is not inconsiderable at that level.~~

Rings no longer modified by bear form. Sad bear is sad.

This ring is extremely good for levelling for all classes, even and perhaps especially clothies that do not tank.

Unknown to most non-tanks (and even to many tanks), Defense skill mitigates chance to be Dazed by mobs. As a lowbie you will often run through many mobs your level or higher, seeking to get to a quest location without fighting each and every mob in the way.

Equipping this ring will dramatically reduce your chance to be Dazed and zerged down by a train of mobs.

I broke out my old old twink, @ 19 as a Rogue this ring gives +8 Defense rating
-.33% Incoming damage from armor
+.24% dodge
+.32% parry
-.32% chance to be crit

This ring got severely downgraded in usefulness. Not isn't bad, but compared to the other blues available I don't think id use it.

It's an awesome ring for any class if you have enough financial balance to keep it/purchase it instead of selling it. It's amazing for twinks and it's very decent for lowbie toon that do very few instances. It is very good for every toon until mid-30 or for tanks until low 40s.

I'm a defensive specced warrior and i use that ring (got it for free in a guild, got silenced left, was pissed cause i got killed and had a major lag...)
And it's usefull certainly for warriors since they aren't real dps classes and have to take loads of damage so i just got two + defense things and then talents in +10 defense (not yet completely)

Here is the real breakdown. It would be silly to sacrifice 15-20 stam for 4 def. there is very little diference between 390 and 394 def. The real key to tanking is to have good damage mitigation from def AND armor and then have lots and lots of overall health. I have seen people with blues and greens reach 416 def but only have like 4500 stam buffed! What a joke. A good tank at level 60 should shoot for 380-400 def with 7000-8000 armor and 5000+ health. This overall build will be the most benificial. Then as you get your might pieces you will start to replace your other items with peices that have less overall def, but add chances to block, parry, dodge, etc. You will see at first your def go down, but over time you will be just fine as you grab a few key peices to make up the differnce. When the day is done and you have been getting your epic peices, you will end up with around 400 def with epics and have over 8k armor and 7-8k stam buffed. Then you will be a pain in the ass to kill and much easier to keep alive in instances and in pvp. If you disagree, blow me!

Hehe, I remember back when I was a noob (well, more of one then I am now) I sold this on the AH for 50s. Imagine my suprise when the guy who bought it resold it for 20g! >_< This is nasty for warrior twinks, though.

I got this on my mage twink that i switch on and off with my spellpower rings and im nasty..It helps alot when your Frost Nova is up and ur taking those backstabs from a rogue...Really helps reduce Damage taken...Great for clothies

I don't understand why this ring is so great, can someone please explain? I'm pretty new at this game, sorry if this is obvious. I have a lvl33 warlock. I just can't rationalize taking this over int and spr buffs . . .

Three of us we're farming gnolls in wetlands for a quest. We farmed a camp that had a fast spawnrate. We killed loads of them and I said: "Hope that a blue will drop" and tadaa, there it is. We all rolled greed on it and I didn't win it, but who cares.

Things to notice about this ring:

any of 6 rating for 19 twinks is pretty good + the 20 armor is nice. Makes this a Pure FLAGGER twink item. what DPS would be walkin around with this?

The amount of block, dodge, and parry given will sky-rocket between the diversity of classes (that is for dodge rating etc, im not sure about defense rating). ex: the libram for 12 dodge rating for 19s, it does crap to the rogue compared to the 8 agility libram. but for shammys, it is opposite.

Each time you level up, the ratings GO DOWN, so don't listen to the thottbot when it calculates what will be given out of the 6 defense rating cause that is AT LVL 17 WHEN CALCULATED.

this ring is NOT UNIQUE, it is UNIQUE-EQUIPTED. so you can keep more than 1 in your inventory, but u cant wear 2 of these.

If you are making a flagger twink, then i'd advise getting it Seal of Wrynnn and Protector's Band. You'd only get this if you were g=atm getting Protector's band or leveling to twink lvl.
