But this item is a much higher drop rate then what Wowhead shows.
It's just that people kill these monsters after already obtaining this item and it won't drop again, so it just lowers the drop rate.
The Runner's and such just have a higher rate cause they're the first enemy you see when you come into the crater so they're, naturally, the first thing killed to get this.

I got this from a raptor, and it dropped another two or three times in the next 15-20 minutes of running through the zone and killing maybe 10 mobs. It had a very high drop rate for me (or perhaps I was just very lucky). I did not accept the quest yet, though - maybe that's why it dropped multiple times?

the meaning of this quest was, in the classic, to let discover you the marshall refuge, that you could miss... now is impossible cause everyone know it, but at that time, with no wowhead, no quest helper and other useful thing...

3% dropd chance? YEAH RIGHT! I get these about 30% of the time! once I even got 4 in a row then 4 kills later i got another one! there is no way the highest drop on these is 3% its way higher!

Yes the drop rate is much higher than 3%
and since I already have one, if I auto loot it gives me a bug that forces me to log out and back in.
quite annoying.

IF u get this drop ( witch i did) Deliver it, it worth the job...
the xp is not very good, but Ok to be that eassy quest...

It's a 3% drop rate because once you have it and turn in the quest no more will drop for you. Thus the tally Thottbot has made includes those who kill them when they already have completed it...thus not getting it.

I think it says 3% Out of 100% because theres more then one creature dropping the item.

damn annoying. killing raptors and got these about 30% of the time. and i know the reason is because i haven't returned it yet, but as is every time one drops i need to destroy the one i have and pick up the new one, because otherwise i can't skin the corpse as there's still loot in it...

there should be a quest to collect 3000000 of them. That's easy. it drop about 75%. realy nice with leather working. destroy accept and skin, thanks,

its pointless trying to grind this items out of mobs, just kill everything for the big ungoro quest grind that should be done lvls 52-53...

These things drop ALL the time, somtimes in twice a row.
It's annoying that I can't carry more than one...

i was exploring & hunting down flightpaths, using my first ever WoW toon, and I got 1 from a bloodpetal lasher, and 1 from a tar beast. all within about 10 minutes of entering Un'Goro crater. At level 47 no less......

well im trying to get this stupid item for about 3hours.. Like killing just ravasaurs and ravasaur runners but still.. I can't understand why others has so good drop if i can't get one single stupid journal?

I got this a on my first kill in Un'goro at lvl 45 =) i killed a muculent ooze

Anyone have trouble picking this item up? I got three of these drops, but I cannot add any of them to my Inventory.

I got it of a wasp thing in un'goro on the ptr..
first kill and i had never seen it before

In reality the drop rate is very high as long as you haven't done the quest. After that it doesn't drop at all which explains the seemingly low droprate that allakhazam shows.

HA! i grinded for about 2 hours and it dint drop it i got 4 living essence and like 2 greens :-/
