Im wondering if some elders are always there or if they only spawn during the festival or what? whats that macro for?

As a priest I found Mind Soothe to be absolutely wonderful for this, it makes the whole process a great deal easier and it's always fun to Sam Fisher it up in the Stormwind Harbor :D

For those of us who are mages, you can iceblock on top of the elder and turn in the quest that way. Just ice armor and manashield/ icebarrier when your running in and you'll have no problem getting them all.

The bigest frustration I am having is (as an alliance) is trying to get horde elders... gah!

I'm a tauren warrior and I just took the boat for Darkshore to Stormwind Harbor, got the elder, took the tram to Ironforge, got that elder, and finally died at the gates of IF. Until I reached the gates I had little trouble with enemy players, since I did this at 3:00 am server time. I may have died, but I got 2/3 of the achievement done, and from what I hear Darnassus is the easiest to complete for this. I recommend Horde players, if possible, to stay up late one night and grab this achievement. took me about half an hour to do IF and SW.

I'm going for the violet proto-drake, just like many people:D

~~Just for you hordies~~ My dad got into orgrimmar, got the elder, and did Ragefire Chasm, all at level 58 with his night elf restro specced druid! He was actually able to survive long enough to heal himself every now and then, and he would cheetah form past the guards, and heal when needed. ^^

Useful tip here: If you do not attack a guard or a pvp flagged player, you will not be flagged for PvP. Guards will still attack you, but players will not. Therefore, simply mount up and hightail it for the elder inside the city, and either accept and turn in the quest the old-fashioned way, or use one of the helpful macros posted above. I hope this tip helps a bunch of people!

The Mastercraft Kalu'ak Fishing Pole is invaluable for getting around Stormwind safely. If you swim at the bottom of the canals, you will be out of aggro range from the guards, and difficult to spot by most players. I managed to get in, talk to the elder, shoot Wrynn with my rifle and get out with relative ease.
