I had to run into the gates of Orgrimmar and aggro 3 lvl 75 guards, (and then be tagged for PvP, and thus i can be attack by hordes) and then make a run for it.

just a note for the Alliance: you can avoid the guards at the entrance of the Valley of Trials by dropping in from above... take the path up to the Shrine of the Dormant Flame (starts at a black rock at 37,57). there are a couple of points on the path where you can jump down into the Valley of Trials. take the Hidden Path over the southern mountains to Ratchet, or hearth out. of course, some form of slowfall would be helpful for both jumps.

I simply had to walk to 50, 67 and discovered the Valley of Trials, no guards or fall issues to worry about.

To get the Orgrimmar discovery as Alliance, just follow the wall of the main entrance to the right, up to where it meets with rock. From there you can jump on a ledge, which is considered inside. Also an excellent hidden corner to sit out your 5 mins of PvP mode if you're on a PvE server.

If you are Alliance and you did exploring at 80 you should have Orgimmar already discovered for the quest when you have to go with jaina proudmoore to Orgimmar and then finally to Undercity.
