Killing Thrall actually isn't all that difficult on some Servers.

For example, Malygos-US, where the Horde is outnumbered almost 4:1 (Well, it certainly looks like i, anyway), a Thrall kill could be done by any guild(s) willing to field the people. Hell, 40 would be good as long as you're skilled and coordinated.

On other servers, like Arthas, Tichondrius or Illidan, on the other hand, Thrall would be very difficult to kill, probably taking several hundred to pull off.

We took down all alliance city leaders except 1 in a single night with only 25 in the raid. Just form it like a raid. Have some people kill/tank/heal the leader and some good pvpers keeping alliance at bay.

The thing i like with this is that Blizz has listened to the ppl saying TBC killed world pvp, we'll finally have these epic raids in the Major Cities, or at least more often ;)

I find these achivements quite annoying.Blizzard tries to make more world pvp but to get this achievement work u need a PvE set up and gear.

If u ask me Blizz thinks PvE>PvP

Good luck on this.

If the Horde don't kill ya, the lag will. It may seem like raid vs Thrall, but as soon as you enter, there will be close to 200 or so mobs in there, a mixture of Alliance raid, guards, Thrall, Zul'Jin, misc. mobs like trainers, 80 Horde and lowbies. You WILL lag to at least 2k latency. =|

And no, it wasn't a coincidence, we tried 3 times and lagged upon touching Thrall...cause by the time we did, 50 or so Horde came back and decided to have a party with us again. There's no winning =P We DID get him down to 40% one attempt, so he's VERY possible (we were a PuG)....just not easy.

yea the alliance just got us on kargath server this is the first time ever since the game came out so i think thats bull and they did it when most of our lv 80s were raiding lol

I'm not sure if anyone had to deal with this, but Horde Death Knights can use their ability Mark of Blood to heal Thrall back to full health while Alliance are trying to bring him down. I'm sure this isn't intended by Blizzard for that to work.

I pretty peeveed at how hard it is now to get a grp evry1 has got a bear and all i need is thrall but so many people dont want to go cus they gonna get killed. Vol'jin wipes u rly easy unless ur tank is any good.the lag kills u its not funny anymore.

I raided Thrall 6 times over 3 days. And then we finalyl killed him. There were literaly only 5 horde. We kept the troll back and took care of Thrall and even had time for the troll. We made it with 3 healers and druids using tranq.

And off the subject we danced on Thrall's corpse as an after party.

Downed him a few days ago.

-Was pugged
-3 AM on day after 3.1 patch day (wednesday)
-Might have been during WG but not sure

We succeeded most definitely because we did it at 3 AM, especially 3 AM on a weekday. So if you want his big fat smelly orc head, you might have to pull an allnighter on a day where you dont work the next day and get some friends. It's hard to get a group but if you can pull it off, it's much easier. We had almost no horde resistance, and the only real problems we had were Zul'jin hexxing the crap out of us.

Thrall was one of the easiest for us to down. Luckily on our server we're Alliance heavy and only 7 or so PVPers decided to even attempt to step in and they were quickly dealt with. We took the side Orgrimmar entrance, ran all the way to just outside his council room, killed all the guards that followed us, then went in and just beat him down. Vol'jin's not worth it, since he's just as big as Thrall and doesn't count for the achievement (silly, but whatever). After we downed him, we all let Vol'jin wipe us and rezzed in Razor Hill for our run to TB.

Its unfair that Blizz made backdoors to Orgrimmar.Allys tell its a strategy to go through that entrance but its not.U got to fight through Stormwind ,and in Orgrimmar u just mount up and run like 200 yards till Thrall.SO the basic ally strategy here,as far as i know is "Run,kill,run".

Read the books dude, the humans enslaved the orcs and forced them to fight in arena's and such, alot of them were just left in a camp to rot. Thrall just wanted a better life for his people...

I don't think that "giving them a better life" means "let them run around and do whatever they want up to and including murder"

And Thrall is the only Orc who was "enslaved." The rest of the Orcs were imprisoned. And considering why they were imprisoned I don't think that they're in any position to be complaining about jailtime.

Thrall was the hardest horde boss to kill; Mostly because most hordes go there than any other city and because of the troll race boss being in the same room.

List of hardest to easiest horde bosses:

1. Thrall

2. Sylvannas Windrunner

3. Cairne Bloodhoof

4. Lor'themar Theron

( I suggest raiding on weekends at night so u can stay up late and most people are asleep by then. )

But I'ma fan of Thrall and Sylvannas honestly. Their history is so interesting. :)

So you and your raid want to kill Thrall right? Want to know how to do it? Read below :)

First off Thrall is in the Grommash Hold in Orgrimmar here is the best route to get to him. Make sure when taking this route you don't fall off the narrow edge by the Hall of Legends/the corner turn by the Valley of Strength.

Here are the NPC's (over 10,000 health) you will/may encounter along this route to Thrall:

•Orgrimmar Grunt (LVL 75) (Health: 16,402) (These NPC's are the guards of the city you will come across many of them during your raid.)

•Scout Manslayer (LVL 80 Elite) (Health: 51,600) (She roams from the back entrance down into the Valley of Strength)

Where these NPCs are located coming into they city by means of the back entrance:
You have your stationary guards/npc's (S) & roaming guards/npc's (R).

•Scout Manslayer (LVL 80 ELITE) roams wide area (R)

•2 Orgrimmar Grunts at front of back entrance bridge (S)

•1 Orgrimmar Grunt on the bridge (R)

•4 Orgrimmar Grunts at end of bridge and in doorway to city (S)

•2 Orgrimmar Grunts by the 1st bonfire on the left that you happen upon (S)

•2 Orgrimmar Grunts by 3rd bonfire on the right after Skyfury Staves (S)

•1 Orgrimmar Grunt roams from back entrance doorway to the Hall of Legends (R)

•1 Orgrimmar Grunt near front the Hall of Legends (S)

•1 Orgrimmar Grunts on side of the Hall of Legends by rope bridge to Flight Tower (S)

•1 Orgrimmar Grunt diagonally across from the Orgrimmar Grunt by the rope bridge(S)

•1 Orgrimmar Grunt by 4th bonfire on left near Stranglethorn Imported Fruits (S)

•1 Orgrimmar Grunt on left by 5th bonfire by Grommash Hold/Thrall's Fortress (S)

•1 Orgrimmar Grunt roams from flight path bridge to Grommash Hold (R)

•1 Orgrimmar Grunt Roams from Grommash Hold off into the Drag (R)

•1 Orgrimmar Grunt roams from inside the Drag to near 5th bonfire/Grommash Hold (R)

What to expect in Grommash Hold aka Thrall's Fortress!
Only NPC's over 10,000 health listed.

•Thrall (Health: 5578K) (This is the dude you want to kill.)

•Vol'jin (Health 5578K) (This guy poly morphs people so watch out.)

•Kor'kron Elite (Health: 25,200) (These are Thrall's personal guards and are elites.)

Where you will encounter these NPC's in Grommash Hold/Thrall's Fortress.

•There are 4 Kor'kron Elites at the main entrance of Grommash Hold. (S)

•There are 2-3 Korkron Elites at the first doorway once inside. (One roams.)

•In the room that Thrall is in there are 18 Korkron Elites and Vol'jin.

Now how's the best way to go about killing Thrall? The best AoE (Area of Effect) people need to AoE down the Kor'kron Elites then focus on killing Thrall, make sure Thrall is taking the max amount of damage possible. If you have any people who can silencing Vol'jin would prove to be useful.

I just couldn't do this.. I'm an Alliance player but Thrall is such a nice guy my heart would break if I would even attack him, I feel a bit like that for Cairne as well, I wouldn't feel bad for killing the other Racial leaders of the Horde, in fact I'd feel proud.
