To get this, you must finish the 10-player Call of the Grand Crusade without wiping or having anyone die during any of the boss fights, and without anyone wearing any gear with a higher item level than anything that drops in the 10-player version of the raid.

EDIT: the 'immortal'(no player dieing) aspect has been removed

Because this achievement is slightly different as this requires the raid to not use any gear that comes from 25 man TOC or greater on top of clearing it in one go. This is similar to the achievement to kill Algalon in 10 man without using gear above item levels available in 10 man Ulduar, only with one more restriction (clearing TOC in one shot).

My question is, since it refers to "an item only obtainable from 25-player Coliseum, or any more powerful item. " can you use the ilvl245 badge item or the new crafted epics, since those can be obtained without needing to do 25m coliseum(assuming Crusader Orb will become buyable with badges), and it's not 'more powerful' than 25m items
(not to mention you will get 245 item from heroic 10m)

This achievement appears to be broken currently.
We completed the encounter with 50 attempts remaining in all Ulduar, ToC-10 norm/hard, and triumph badge obtainable gear.

The only thing we can think of is we had one death during the instance, although the "immortality" was removed from the achievement. That or the achievement simply isn't implemented correctly.

Gear from Triumph badges is ilvl245, which is the same level as TOC25 gear.

Because this is how you distinguish between someone doing well with gear and someone doing well with skill. There is no 25 man version of this achievement. There's a separate achievement for both 10 and 25 to simply clear the place hard mode without any wipes.

I don't think you can measure it by "item level". The best you can get from ToC10 is a cloak with ilvl258.
Obviously, you won't be able to use ToC25 hard-mode loots.

So, gears from ToC10 only.

You can use:
• Any item below item level 245.
• The item level 245 set pieces that drop from 25-player Trial of the Crusader but also appear in the 10-player Tribute Chest.
• Any gear that drops in 10-player Trial of the Crusader or Trial of the Grand Crusader, including item level 245 Trial of the Grand Crusader drops and item level 258 cloaks from the 10-player Tribute Chest
• Any item level 245 items purchased with Badges of Triumph.
• Any item level 245 Bind on Equip item, including crafted pieces.

You cannot use:
• Any item level 245 item not included above (primarily Bind on Pickup drops from 25-player Trial of the Crusader, but also notably Val’anyr).
• Any item over item level 245 except for the 10-player Tribute cloak.
• Any higher item level loot introduced in future patches (25 player Onyxia 245s, Icecrown loot in the future, etc.)

Worth noting I don't think 245+ relentless gear is usable. We got this tonight operating under this auspice, though several people were going to wear a few pieces for faction champs I'd advise against it since it isn't explicitly expressed in the allowable items list.

You CAN NOT use Relentless PvP gear, our resto druid slapped a few pieces on to replace some of his ToC25 gear and we did not get this achievement. Next week, he corrected this, and we got it.

Reading + Following the post made by Daelo (Lead Design Encounter) is the best way to go when planning for this achievement

I'll provide my own little advice for this it:

Unless you are a strict 10m guild, this achievement will require some planning. Give your group a full week or so notice to plan on what pieces to replace. Between the 10 of us, we usually had an average of 2-4 pieces or so that we had to replace. Some people kept their old gear, others vendored or DEd it, sadly.

Here are some great places to replace pieces of gear if you're in a hurry:

- Badge gear, from ALL four sources (Triumph, Conquest, Valor, Heroism)
- Craftable gear of any kind, most preferably the ToC patterns.
- PvP Gear Furious and lower
- Any semi-decent BoE epic from the AH
- If all else fails, grab a crappy BoE blue from the AH. Assuming it's just one piece, it won't drastically effect your performance.

Now, with your downranked gear you'll have to finish ToC10 with no wipes. Overall the DPS will be a bit lower, the healing a bit more stressful, but just keep your cool, use your flasks + food buffs for every attempt, bring plenty of haste/wild magic/indestructible potions to compensate for the lack of gear, and do the same strategies you did for Insanity, and you'll get this achievement.

You can invite any new character to your raid!

I healed boss 1-4 with my toon druid and then switched to my mage main and everybody got their achievement. Good luck!

It is reported that ilv 232 weapons from 10-normal ToC are not eligible for Herald of the Titans (where other parts using only ilv 226).

So it might be similar case for Tribute to Dedicated Insanity, can anyone confirm if ilv 232 from 10-Onyxia are eligible for this achievement?

Ok, I see the mention that we can use BoEs. But just to be sure, does that mean we can use The Executioner's Vice from TotC25 and still get the achievement? I ask this because, despite the fact it is from TotC 25, it's available from the AH, being BoE, and thus obtainable without ever setting foot in there on 25-player (granted, someone, somewhere would had to have had the drop but the achievement wording mentions nothing about this kind of thing).

Hey there, i've one question for these who did that achievement.
You need to clear ALL the bosses in this gear or you just need to kill Anub and reach a tribute chest?

I'm asking because once my friend joined just for Anub (he didnt have even grand crusader complete) and he got Insanity achievement. So it may be possible to clear first four bosses in normal gear and then kill Anub'Arak in 245- ones?

Just out of curiousity - the Information below is for the old version of wotlk. I did get that achievement back in the day - but how is this going to work with the rework changes around wotlk classic specifically concerning Ulduar Itemlevel push. The highest Item level obtainable back in the day was val'anyr with 245, which nowadays is a whooping 13 item level higher (258). And therefore clearly out of bound if the original achievement is considered. The Ingame Text also shows the same text as before.

That means for now the status quo is, that any item that drops off Ulduar 25 hm is an absolute nogo as is val'anyr. You can only go for cogc 10 and ulduar 10 (nm+hm) and 25 nm items.

Itemization for this achievement will need an update if it persists in this form.

Just found this info on the forums:

Only naxx - ulduar (no 252) - toc 10 normal + hc gear.

toc 25 normal and above invalidates the achievement.

For classic players:
My group just finished the Tribute to Dedicated Insanity.

- We used any 10-man Ulduar Normal and HM items including 245 ilvl weapons.
- We used gear from 10-man TotGC (including HC 245 ilvl items). You should be also able to use 10-man Onyxia loot (we did not have any).
- We used 258 ilvl cloaks from 10-man TotGC Tribute Chest.

- We did NOT use 245 ilvl gear available for Emblems of Triumph (it should be allowed tho).
- We did NOT use any 245 ilvl crafted gear (allegedly it should not be allowed).
- We did NOT use any 245 ilvl tier 9 pieces (I'm not sure about this, information on this warries, use at your own risk).

Comment below if your raid managed to get the Tribute while using 245 T9 items or crafted or emblems items. Let us know, whether you got or did not get the Tribute achievement.
