For Europe, this event happens when people login after 00:00 of 2008/11/22.
With this you will receive by mail a bear (non combat pet), Baby Blizzard Bear

The item can be sent by mail to other characters on the account but it's redundant as you probably also want the achievement on those other characters as well.

If you log in on November 23rd, 2008 you will get this achievement. If you were already logged in when the new day began, you will have to log out and log in again or change zone to get it. Once you get the achievement you will recieve a mail from the WoW Dev Team containing the following message and a Baby Blizzard Bear mini-pet!

Do you know that the World of Warcraft is now four years old?

We wanted to send you something to say thanks for sharing this game with us. Sure, the 4th anniversary present is traditionally "flowers"... but in WoW, it's "bear".

This is based on server time. If you're like me and play on a server from another time zone, you'll get it at midnight server time.

Is it possible that the account bound bear will also give this achievement? Since if you have one you obviously logged in that day.

Just thought it might be worth noting that, while logging in on the 23rd does give you an achievment, it does not give any actual achievment points. So really all you need to do is go on every server you have a character on, log in with one of them, get the pet, and then later mail it to alts. Sure, you could log into every single alt you have, but considering the fact it doesnt give any achievment points, it would be kinda tedious AND useless.

Props also to Blizzard for FINALLY making this pet available to servers other than chinese. They got theirs a while back during an iCoke promotion and all us pet collectors were very jealous : /

Nov 26th and people are still getting this Achievment, anyone speculate why?
Only thing I can come up with is It gives it to all characters you didnt log into regardless of day if you did log in with a character on the 23rd.

Actually the achievement really is like the collector's edition pets. When you first got this achievement (you needed to be online and zone/die or relog or log in on the 23rd) you got the bear. Now thereafter every consecutive creation and/or login on any given server or character will automatically give this achievement to this character as well - resulting in giving you a mail from the devteam including the bear ;) You can savely delete the bear from your inventory since every other character will automatically get it anyway. The only reason to keep one would be if you have created a character logged in and missed to go to the next mailbox within the 27 days or something. Hope that helps to clear this issue ;)

Oddly enough, my Death Knight, that I logged in on the 23rd with, did not get this achievement, but 3 characters that I made tonight (December 1st) received the achievement upon creation.

I petitioned a GM about it.

did you actually check your Death Knight's achievement stuff? it's under "feats of strength."

when I logged onto my main on the 23rd, it did not immidiately indicate that I had gotten the achievement, but when I checked, it was there.

Either this Achievement encompasses a large range of dates or it is beyond a simple Bind on Account. I got it on a new character I made after November 23rd; I also created an account through the Recruit-A-Friend program on December 5th, earlier this morning, and got the Achievement. I used the same information as my main account, such as address and name. Pretty awesome.

Well I logged in today, 10 december 2008 and didn't get the achievement, even though three of my other chars on the same account have gotten it. So it was a period of time after all and not an 'account bound' achievement :)

This is Impossible to get now. You can always log on November 23rd 09 to get the achievment for the 5th anniversary
