Hellfire Pennisula
Fulgorge - 62 Rare Chest Burster. Can spawn in any location with regular Chest Bursters.
Mekthorg the Wild - 61 Rare Orc. Spawns in any Orc Camp (Zethgor or along the Longitude of of Hellfire Citadel).
Vorakem Doomspeaker <Herald of Doom Lord Kazzak> - 62 Rare Demon. Spawns amongst other Demons (Legion Front, Forge Camps, and Pools of Aggonar).

Zangarmarsh

Marticar - 63 Rare Fen Strider. Patrols the West Coast out past Sporeggar, the Northern Edge above Coilfang, or the NE edge just outside the Dead Mire.
Bog Lurker - 63 Rare Bog Giant. Spawns amongst the broken one tribes. S of Cenarion Refuge, S of the Twin Spires, or West of Orebor.
Coilfang Emmisary - 63 Rare Naga. Spawns amongst the 4 Naga camps in Zangarmarsh.

Crippler - 65 Rare Skeleton. Spawns in and around the undead of Auchindoun proper in the Bone Wastes.
Doomslayer Jurim - 64 Rare Draenei. Patrols the roads South and West of Shattrath (as far as the road into Shadowmoon Valley), though he can cross paths with and be killed by patrolling Shattrath Guards.
Okrek - 64 Rare Arakkoa. Spawns in any of the 4 Arakkoa camps throughout Terokkar (exludes the camp SW of the Bone Wastes, apparently)

Nagrand

Goretooth - 65 Rare Crocolisk. Any of the major lakes of Nagrand (Aka, SE of the Zone, S of Throne of Elements, Around Nagrand, or by Sunspring Village)
Voidhunter Yar - 68 Rare Void Monstosity. Spawns around Oshu'gun.

Morcrush - 68 Rare Crystal Giant. Spawns in the area surrounding, and North of, Death's Door.
Hemathion - 68 Rare Dragon. Spawns out in the Western Edge of the zone.
Speaker Mar'grom - 68 Rare OgreMagi. Spawns within Ogre camps.

Netherstorm

Nuramoc - 70 Rare Chimera. Can spawn Southern Edge of Area 52's Island, Northern Ridge above Manaforge Duro, or the Western Ridge of the Stormspire Island.
Ever-Core the Punisher - 68 Rare Arcane Construct. Patrols any of the Mana Forges B'naar, Ultris, or Ara.
Chief Engineer Lorthander - 69 Rare Blood Elf. Patrols Mana Forges Ara, B'naar, and Coruu.

Shadowmoon

Collidus the Warp-Watcher - 68 Rare Beholder. Patrols the SE world edge, NE world edge, or just South of the the Deathforge.

Edit (2008-10-18): Just found Marticar at (40,33) using this macro. Flew through all of terokkar, smv, hellfire, then zangar -- no false positives in any of those zones. Good luck hunting!

Edit (2008-10-19): Rearranged a bit to eliminate Area 52 false positive -- thanks GIDustin! Also corrected an error -- "Coilfang Emm" would never target the intended mob; replace with "Coilfang Em".

Edit (2009-03-16): Just finished Bloody Rare, using my above macro the entire time. Everything targets except Fulgorge (unless it's a Fulgorge corpse /cry). Good luck hunting!

Achievement is still credited if you're in a group. Sometimes the achievement UI can take a few seconds to update with the credit.

I killed 5 different rare mobs this morning while grouped and all members of the party received credit for the kills.

I confirm the above macro works. I got Ever Core the Punisher at Manaforge Ara pathing outside. However this brings up two questions. First is, can there be more than 1 rare up in a zone at the same time? And secondly has anyone figured out the range of /tar ? This would be a practical question since to be able to cover most of the areas of all the zones I think would necessitate a epic flying mount which I was using when I found Ever Core.

I just killed Mekthorg the Wild and it didn't count in the achievement. Wondering if it's because he's level 61, which does not give XP at level 70? Have other level 70s killed him and it counted?

Well, i've killed the Coilfang Emissary (70,71) and it didnt count for the achievement either. And no, i didnt have the achievement beforehand.

While it's true you only have to kill one for this achievement, there is a subsequent step that's available once you have killed one, where you DO have to kill all of them. Bloody Rare

Seems you don't need to be close when its killed to get the Achievement. I was in raid and standing at the Tempest Keep Meeting Stone when someone else in raid killed a rare at the top northwest corner of Netherstorm (which is on the otherside of the zone map) and I still got it.

If you don't want to wear your fingers out, you can use the addon "_NPCScan" at <http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/info12995-_NPCScan.html> to find all of the rares without spamming any keys or clicks. Just leisurely fly around the zones and let the addon tell you when it finds something. It works for all locales, and has the same range as your average targeting macro.

Even better, it detects Fulgorge while he's burrowed!

I've noticed Bro'Gaz is not part of this achievement, even though he drops, close or the same as the others, and is considered a rare elite.

Will this be as effective while flying on your epic mount as it will on your normal flier? I noticed as I was looking for Voidhunter Yar that the voidspawns were very slow to appear on my epic, and sometimes i had to completely stop for several seconds for them to show. I have everything in the video interface set to ultra, so i know it's not my field of view; anyone know if it's just too fast to hunt them with?

While leveling my DK,and doing Sporeggar quest named Now that we are friends,i saw rare named Coilfang Emissary...i decided not to kill him,but acciednatly i aggroed him and killed him...and hop! -Medium Rare,and gchat gz gz gz...i was suprised :)

I don't know how this achievement really works, but today while I was in Nagrand killing ogres on my priest, a warlock in my group killed Doomsayer Jurim in Terokkar - and I got the achievement too. No idea if it's a bug or WAI.

yeah, chibichibi, i believe these macros are too large to run quickly. I would probably make 1 macro for each of the 7 zones, so that they may run faster and be made more complex than simple /tar this /tar that

I Can confirm the last comment. Fulgore is in the Great fissure. And u don't need a macro for him. U can't miss him. As soon as u spot much bigger radius of rumbling and turning rocks thats him. And the rocks are red and are flying much higher then the normal worms. Good luck finding him.

Got this achievement by accident AoE grinding Voidwalkers on my Pally at 33.0,70.8 killed Yar
His remains were pretty hard to find when surrounded by like 12 other voidwalkers >.>
But yeah this is more of an accidental achievement if I've ever seen one.

I strongly recommend the addon "NPCscan" it auto scan for any rare mob near you and gives you a warning when one is found.
The addon can be found at Curse

instead of making an macro and click it whole map long try using the addon NPCSCAN+NPCSCAN overlay it says were to look and it auto selects the rare mob and there will even pop an message that says rare npc found!
it knows all the rare mobs needed for the achievement (even has his own achievent menu:P)

Anyone have an idea of the spawn timers for the mobs? I'm having a hard time with the Hellfire ones just not popping up like the other zones. Likely the population is higher there for people to level.

I used the add-on SilverDragon in the past, but after trying _NPCScan (+ Overlay addition) I highly recommend getting the latter add-on(s) instead.
