I thought that this was impossible.

Once you chose a faction, you would become progressivly more hated with the opposite.

ie. Turn in an Arcane Tome and you gain 350 rep with the Scryers but lose 385 rep with the Aldor.

If there is a way to get rep with both please post.

Since achievements are tied to individual characters, this likely means having exalted at different times. A terrible pain, but not impossible.

If you are Aldor exalted you can hand in Dampscale Basilisk Eye for the quest More Basilisk Eyes to grind to Scryer neutral, allowing you to then hand in Scryer rep items. For Scryer to Aldor, you would hand in Dreadfang Venom Sac for the quest More Venom Sacs, followed by Aldor rep items.

Looks like it doesnt work. At least not in beta.

I copied my char with all stuff required for a switch.
Done the quests, and grinded second faction to exalted.
Yet no achievement or feat appeared :(

Has anyone managed to achieve this yet? Properly, that is - going from full exalted in aldor/scryer to full exalted in the other - not in some bugged way. It'd be nice to know that it works before I go for it :)

I, Aestu, Alliance of Bleeding Hollow-US, have managed to obtain this achievement. I went from Scryer to Aldor in 3.02, having previously gone Aldor to Scryer but not given credit.

The crossover must take place after the introduction of achievements, although you may reach exalted with the initial faction beforehand.

You will no longer receive credit for the former faction as exalted towards your total number of exalted factions, but if you purchased their tabard, both will count towards your total.

I've done this achievment in the past few days. For me, I changed from Aldor to Scyer.

The numbers abouve are corretcly, you need 1344 Eyes, which are farmed quite fast. (for 200 about 2 1/2h as a protwarrior)

Some notes:
When you turn in, you loose the exalted aldor-faction and at the end you get the exalted scyer faction. That means, you can't get the 40-exalted achievment before wotlk. I startet with all 39 possible factions on exalted including aldor, but after the turn in I also only got 39 including scyber, but no aldor anymore.

So you can only get the 25-tabarbs achievement before wotlk, as you get another tabard.

Quests:
After you done the turnins you can do the whole socrates questline, including the mana-forges thinks, in netherstorm for the scyers again.

But you can't do the shadowmoonvally BT-Quests.

I've also should have attained this within the past week, yet did not receive the achievement on attaining exalted with Scryers. Tried linking this in trade to see if others had it yet got disconnected from the server - in the same manner when you try to link items that do not exist on Live/have not been discovered.

Posting on the General WoW forums only seemed to gain people questioning if this actually existed. Could I ask someone who has successfully gained this to post a screenshot of it in the Achievement window to prove if this is still possible to attain?

I too have achieved this before the achievement system was added. I ticketed a GM about it and they told me to go the suggestion forums and write a bug list with the possible ways of fixing it (IE having both tabards or checking professions) I'm afraid to those that have no proof are out of luck as there is no other way of checking the system.

I have not yet wrote up the bug list but my suggestion to those in the same boat is to follow up with either a post in the suggestion or achievement forums of the main site.

I have several quest lines in progress in Netherstorm and Shadowmoon Valley and I've started messing around with my Scryers' reputation (already only half revered). Will I be able to get Loremaster of Outland achievement if I turn Aldor? Or I need to get achievements for zones first and only screw my reputation after this?

I have just finished speaking to a GM, and they are actually incapable of retroactively awarding achievements, they do not have the tools to do so as achievements are controlled on the development side. If you earned this before the achievement system they currently do not have a way to give you credit for it. I had previously believed it was just Blizzard policy not to retroactively award achievements but they actually don't have a way of doing it (yet). Visit the suggestions forum and get on them for it or go back and earn it (again).

For those considering this feat, keep in mind you probably won't be able to brute force it with gold. At least not if you want to finish quickly. Neutral to Exalted won't be a problem; signets, marks, tomes, and armaments are still on the market in sufficient quantities it shouldn't take more than a week to buy enough. Hated to Neutral, on the other hand, will probably require some farming on your part. Dampscale Basilisk Eyes and Dreadfang Venom Sacs are rare on the AH. By level 80, you'll make quick work of the spiders or basilisks, but you're still looking at anywhere from 12 hours to a couple days worth of /played to collect enough. There are definitely worse grinds in the game, but this isn't exactly a lazy man's achievement, either.

Another thing to keep in mind is once you've switched factions, you will be able to pick up your new one's Manaforge and Socrethar quest lines in Netherstorm. Both the Aldor and the Scryers have their own versions, and they're not mutually exclusive. Thus, even if you've deactivated the manaforges and killed Socrethar as a Scryer, after changing sides, you'll be able to go back and do it again as an Aldor. That will save you a lot of gold or farming time as the quests have substantial reputation rewards. Note, however, that the opposing versions of the Shadowmoon Valley quests will not be available.(##RESPBREAK##)2056##DELIM##adashiel##DELIM##

Hmm, so I have a dilema right now, im scryers at revered, i can get to exalted and then switch to aldor and get exalted with them, but i hate those draenei so i thought i would become exalted AGAIN with scryers, i may just grind to aldor since they arent that useful now in wotlk

This Achivement its just like https://www.cuckhead.com/wotlk/achievement=952 (Mercenary of Sholazar). You need to get exalted with one and then farm exalted with the other one. https://www.cuckhead.com/wotlk/achievement=1205(Hero of Shattrath) is more harder than Mercenary of Sholazar because you need to farm alot of item. Like mnork said:

to Neutral > 1344 x dampscale basilisk eyes
to Honored > 360 x firewing signets
to Exalted > 1320 x sunfury signets

You will need more than 3000 item to change reputation faction at the opposite of Sholazar Basin brother where you only need to do your daily quest for about 2 weeks.

Actually, they do now have a way of rewarding achievements from what I have gathered. I had the achievement for Heroic: CoS but Mal'Ganis was not given credit to me under my Champion of the Frozen Wastes. So I ticketed a GM, and he logged onto my character, and then after about 2 minutes or so on my account, logged off and when I logged back on, I had credit for Mal'Ganis under Champion of the Frozen Wastes. However, this is not really being awarded a full achievement by a GM, just a partial credit I suppose you'd call it.

Now, speaking about this Feat of Strength. Are we sure that they do not need to be obtained simultaneously like 'Insane in the Membrane' because I do not myself know of anything that gives reputation with The Scryers or The Aldor that does not take away from the opposing side. Please get back to me on this, Thanks much and I hope I helped out at least a little bit.

As of Saturday, July 25, 2009 11:13pm (EST) my character, the level 80 warrior, finally obtained this Feat after about 3-4 months of farming.

I didn't know this achievement existed until I hit 999/1000 Exalted with Aldor so I had to take the extra time to grind out the full amount of Exalted. I got bored very easily and farming the eyes to switch to Scryer was a pain in the behind. However, once I made it out of Hated I had a bit of hope. Today I was 0/3000 Unfriendly and just wanted my achievement so I spent the next 2 hours farming the final 192 eyes. Once I reached Neutral I started handing in all the rep items I had bought over the past few months. In about 5 minutes I managed to go from Neutral to 17710 / 21000 Revered just off rep items.
Once I ran out and drained the AH of any Scryer rep items I had to farm it myself. Where else than the Isle of Quel'Danas on the boats off the coast. Those 3 boats were where I ended up obtaining 70 Signets and 5 Arcane Tomes within the next 1.5 hours. At this point I was so mesmerized by the stupid grinding it didn't phase me.
Once I calculated how much rep I needed and how much rep I had in my bags I saw I had 210 rep over how much was needed.

So I hearthed. Took the portal to Shatt and started handing in my Signets first. I then went to hand in my Tomes but I only handed in 4, thinking I had handed in 5 and was just a little rep short. I literally said, "What...the...f*ck! How the hell did I calculate this wrong?" So I checked the AH if anyone had posted anything in the past 2 hours and nothing was there. But luckily I checked my bags again before heading back to QD and saw 1 more Arcane Tome and handed it in. Then I got it. One of the very few on my server, let alone the world, to have this Feat of Strength. I was also the first person in my guild to get it, or even try. xD

In my opinion, this is the second worst grind achievement in the game (the first being The Insane). It is a true achievement @#$%^ achievement. To actually get it you need to have patience, gold, time and an invisible friend to talk to while you farm. You will need to farm over 1000 of the same item which has like a 40% drop rate, so prepare for some boredom. Whenever you log on to the game, a few minutes before you log out, and periodically throughout the day, make sure to tell trade you want to buy some eyes and to check the AH. If you're like me you may get lucky and have a random tell here and there, one of which may contain 200 eyes for you. I paid 1g per eye + a very generous tip. When I scanned the AH I bought any eyes that were up, regardless of their price. This made sure I had x less eyes to farm and x amount of time gained.
Another strategic thing to do is to tell trade you're willing to pay people to farm this for you. If you're lucky you may get someone willing to do it. Suckering your friends into this isn't a bad idea either, but chances are they will get bored fast and give up within the hour.

Good luck to anyone trying to get this achievement. Stay sane. :)

This is one of the most boring achievement to accomplish in all of wow. Requires to do repetitive farming, doing a relative small area hundreds of times.

Consider that firstly you need to get exalted with one of the two factions. The other faction will be entirely in full hated. Getting it to neutral, implies Dampscale Basilisk Eye if you want to switch to Scryers, or Dreadfang Venom Sac if you want Aldor.

Things to know beforehand:

the mission is More Basilisk Eyes if you want to switch to Scryers or More Venom Sacs if you want Aldor. The first time you do it, it will have a different name but with the same objective, demanding Dreadfang Venom Sacs/Dampscale Basilisk Eyes in packs of 8
as this is the only way to get your reputation from full hated to neutral, you will need 1344 of these thingies, or 168 turn ins
the levels of the creatures are in the range of 62-66 with around 5k hp points, is not a bad way for leveling from 6x to low seventies, you can alternate this with one of your mains as this is a gargantuan farming, as these hardly can be one shotted even being 80 and you need to get to their dying spot to register the corpses
drop rate: around 30-35%. Sometimes you will get frustrated seeing how you kill ten in a row and no eyes/sacs drop.
Basilisk Eyes are found in the basilisk-looking creatures whille the Venom Sacs are in the spider ones, all of them found in the Terokkar forest
good hunting spots:
1. sacs: from south of Allerian Stronghold, to the Terokkarantula place (53, 80)
2. eyes: basically from Shatrath to Firewing Point.

When you get to neutral, your hell will be almost finished, as Arcane Tomes and signets for Scryers and Fel Armaments and marks for Aldors are an easy buy from the city auctions. I suggest you search every day for these while you do the farming of sacs/eyes.

Just went from full exalted Aldor to exalted Scryer in 6 days. Only bought 75 eyes, and I turned in only about 100 signets and 5-6 tomes that I didn't farm myself.

Definately not as hard as everyone thinks.

10/29/2009 I was awarded this achievement retroactively by submitting a GM ticket. I had tried several times over the past year and was declined as other have mentioned. Reputations gains were made during BC time frame, and the proof I provided them was that I had both exalted level spell thread patterns in my book.

The grind was fairly easy at the time. Changing from Scryers to Aldor required the Dreadfang Venom Sacs which I bought from the AH for next to nothing. They were plentiful due to the farming of netherweb spider silk being fairly profitable at the time.

For those thinking about attempting this, be advised that this will take you one hell of a long time to complete. Do yourself a favour and scan the auction house every now and then and pick up any Dreadfang Venom Sacs you can find before starting, because you're looking somewhere upwards of 9+ hours of pure grinding. Keep in mind that you will also need quite a lot of marks, and after grinding your way through hated, farming marks doesn't sound like the best thing in the world. So be sure to pick those up as well.

I just finished this today, took me forever and a day. Handing them all in was a pain in the ass as well, so I suggest binding the following macro to a key:

/script CompleteQuest(1)
/script GetQuestReward()

Just right click on the NPC with your mouse and spam the button. Hope that helped.

This achievement was a bit of a pain to get. Either going to spend a lot of time grinding or spending a lot of gold. I wouldn't advise the latter since depending on your server. there is not likely a lot of DKs still leveling or many others going through Outland so the Marks/Signets will be in shorter supply and cost a lot more...Unless you get lucky :)

Got the Feat yesterday evening (Thursday, January 21st).
I had just 75 eyes (farmed every time I flew over Terokkar forest on my way to Netherwing ledge) when I started the real farming sunday evenening.
It's not as terrible as everyone above says... I farmed at 120 eyes per hour, so the whole grind took me roughly 11 hours.
Since there were no eyes on the AH or people in Terokkar Forest selling them, I had to grind them all myself.. but I had the Arcane Tomes ready for when I'd hit neutral, so when I eventually hit 1344 eyes, I got the achievement within 30minutes (turning in without knowing the script for the macro takes ages xD)

If you just go for it, it's not that bad :D (I farmed yesterday the last 500 eyes ^^)

Good luck everyone working on this, and it's worth it, since almost no one has this feat :)

In patch 3.3.3 this achievement is having its requirements changed, pre-patch it only checked if you were exalted with Aldor or Scryers and was not retroactive. With 3.3.3, this achievement now checks if you have ever been exalted with either faction via two hidden achievements.

A well deserved pat on the back to Blizzard for listening and making this retroactive, however long it may have taken them.

Got this achievement a few weeks ago. It wasn't that bad. Since i only really started playing this toon after WOTLK came out i had to do the LC grind for rep as well. Just soloed reg shadow labs over and over and i had enuff armaments and marks to get form neut to exhalted (going scryer to aldor obv). For the venom sacs i didn't buy any all i did was que for a random as dps and mow through spiders till it popped rinse and repeat over and over and over. Eventually i got it only one on the server that i know of thats done it.

I finally took a little bit to farm my last bit of Dreadfang venom sacs tonight. I'd been exalted with Scryers since BC, have the tabard in my bank, heck I even still have my t6 with the Greater Inscription of the Blade, and the "Shattrath Divided" achievement I've had since 10/14/08. I already had all the required Fel Armaments and Marks to hit exalted with my last 8 venom sacs.

Tedious turn in to do all at once mind you, but long story short turning my last 10 marks in and hitting exalted with Aldor did not yield me this feat. Time to ticket and cross my fingers =/

It seems they've added some sort of extra criteria to this since 3.3.3. I got this upon login after 3.3.3 and I had put in many GM tickets hoping for them to grant it to me, but to no avail. My proof of completion was having both tabards and both sets of the tailoring recipes.

Just completed this grind. It took me a very long time of grinding spider after spider that it felt like I was going to go insane. I grinded this on my pally because she has mining so I could mine as I killed spiders. It turned out to be quite profitable. I also ended up with over 1000 spider silk. Would I do this achievement ever again? HELL NO!

It comes down to how difficult it is to farm either Dreadfang Venom Sacs or Basillisk Eyes.

I got this achievement yesterday and I can confirm that the 2nd exalted rep does NOT count towards "The Exalted" title. Just FYI so you don't get let down.
