To clarify exactly what you need to do:

You need to use flags that were yours, but are currently being converted by the enemy. To put it simply, it means that 'neutral' flags (ie. at the start of a game) do not count, nor do flags that belong wholly to the other faction.

Basically, when using a flag, if it instantly turns to your faction (instead of making you wait a minute) then you've successfully defended a base. If not, you haven't.

Got it today with Arathi Basin All-Star solo, these 2 are some of the more difficult achievements as defending is quite awkward, 50 seconds to kill the horde and start capping after they assault a node.

This achievement is actually fairly hard to get. If your flag gets capped, odds are a fairly strong team of the opposing faction just attacked it, and it will take a minute to clear them out, and by that time the other faction takes the base and you have to assault it.

It really only comes easily if say a rogue saps you can caps the base, then you kill the rogue.

A friend and I both got this achievment today...it's kind of a ridiculous achievment b/c you have to intentionally give up nodes then recap them within a minute to get it done in most instances which is counterproductive to winning...but anyways here is how we did it:

1) Hide inside the mine alot. When the opposing faction caps the flag..wait about 20 seconds...because half the time if it's a big group, most will mount and ride off and only 1 or 2 will defend. (if you are both stealth classes you can hide near any node you want)

2) Then either kill or CC the enemy real fast and let your friend start trying for the achievment. After a few games he should have it, it took us 6 games for both of us to get it.

Some games your team will get rolled...other games your team will win too fast. This is obviously most easily done in a back and fourth type of game where the 3 cap changes posession alot. In the end, it's still kind of a luck achievement, but it's not as hard as alot of people make it out to be.
