Krom'Grol can be found inside the lower cave.

There are 3 caves on this mountain, in the lowest one, there are red/black colored walls and only normal mobs, in the top one there are same color on walls but just one mob inside (https://www.cuckhead.com/wotlk/npc=9602) and the one you can find Krom'Grol in is the middle one, blueish colored walls. (has same design as Skull Rock cave and Valley of Trials cave, both found in Durotar....)
He is found in the room with the water

As the quest says: "Search the various caves and mines in Dreadmaul Rock", so yea, his location varies. There are 3 caves but never seem to spawn in the top cave, so hes either in the lower cave or the middle one.

Also found him in the blue cave, entrance on the Northeast side of mountain. He was indeed in the room with the water, but he was on the ledge above. When you enter the cave go to the right and follow it around. Coords 82.48

As a priest, I stood at various places on Dreadmaul Rock and used "/target Krom'Grul". When I was able to target him, I used Mind Vision to see where he was (the big blue cavern in my case).

he spawns randomly in the lowest ore the mid cave. it costs more trouble getting to him than defeting him tough..

Most of us seem to have found him in the same blue (north east) cave. I found him in a tucked-away little spot in the large room with water, as mentioned above. He's lvl 54, and he had a lvl 52 buddy very close- giving me the impression he's almost always here.

As we all know, just because the quest says "search the various", doesn't mean he spawns in various.

Found him in the blue cave (north east side) in a room full of Firegut's. I sapped one closest to him then killed him. Got jumped by about 4 but got him before they got me.

He also appears in the lower cave. As you enter the cave keep to the right.

Spent 4 hours trying to find him in the middle cave before I disided to look in the lower cave.

Found him in the blue cave but since i am a warlock i just used the summon eye of kilrogg to spot him :D

He spawns in like 8 different places inside the caves on the NE and SW sides of the mountain. Spawn time is really short but he's almost always in a different place. Spawn time is like 5 mins or something. Being able to track humanoids is a great thing to have.

Level 53 druid, feral. Solo'd no prob. Him and 2 adds. Found him in the smaller cave, tloc 78, 41. Easy peasy.

i didn't go directly to this cave ... i checked both of the other caves first.

i've cleared the cave (twice) that you guys talked about but i couldn't find him ...

seems like a random spawn.

I found him in a large cave near the skeleton on the altar. Cleared out the cave to where he was and killed him. No adds. Child's play!

Found him in a lower cave that has the entrance at 83, 38.7 on the back side of the mountain, he was at 81.4, 46 and had 4 other ogres with him. This is the largest of the three caves with about 20-25 spawns in it. There is a river in this one that ends in a small lake...his spawn point is right by the lake in a little nook. The smallest cave is the one at the top and only has 2 mobs in it. The medium cave is in the middle and has about 12 spawns.

He spawns in one of two caves. One at ground level and the other at the top of the mountain.
