Respawns very close the the waterfall mid-shore.

She roams up and down the beach, and can come very close to Revantusk Village. Usually when killed or skinned she drops about double what a normal saltwater snapjaw drops.

If you want to avoid her from interrupting a nice good grind, then you can farm the turtles underwater just offshore as she will not go into the water more than a few feet at most.

Gammerita is a straight-forward fight. Just make sure to watch out for her when grinding the area. While the rest of the turtles are passive, Gammerita is aggressive. Take a look at the screenshot so you can identify Gammerita among the rest of the turtles in the area by sight.

A easily way to kill Gammerita is to take around a quarter of her life and pull her to Raventusk, the guards can take care of it and you'll easily get the loot.

For locks: drop the DoT's and keep her feared. Life drain away and she will quickly fall.

Like all the other turtles, they do not have many attacks. She can reduce your armor by 50% on occasion. Protection pallys just keep their mana up with JoW / SoW and she will fall. She does have a lot of armor and health, so it does take a while. Doesn't seem to drop anything interesting though, but got 1000 (rested) XP at lvl 50.

It took me a while to figure out how to get down to the shore from the Overlook Cliffs. Head to the southernmost end of the cliffs (approx 70,65); you'll see a ruin, and a dirt path leading downward – that's the path down to the shore.

For Rogues, use Garrote and Rupture (works on all turtles) to bring her health down quickly. Easily soloable lvl 46+

She was a pushover with a 47 Hunter(bm spec) using no consumables.

I know she wanders, but I found her about a 10-second run from the Raventusk "gate"

As the snapjaws in the area are lvl 49-50, Gammerita will be no problem if surprised. Taken down as a lvl 46 mage with no loss of health.

I did this quest really easily on a level 45 human fire mage. A nearby blood elf paladin got attacked by her and while the paladin was killing her, I took the snapshot.

The snapshot can be taken of Gammerita's corpse, if you happen upon her. She doesn't need to be alive, or killed by you. I did the quest at 43.

Just wanted to point out that "Gamera" is the name of the giant turtle in the japanese "Godzilla" movies (or better "Gariga" movies, since that's what Godzilla is called there).

Found her just south of the big waterfall at The Overlook Cliffs. Snapped the shot and could have easily outrun her, but thanks to Horde warrior Stronger, I turned around and we killed her off. Did as lvl 45. She's a 48 elite.

Really not too hard to kill at level 46 (Paladin) But the Lay on Hands and abilities with long cooldowns as well as stacking up on pots will really help you, but if you dont want to fight her, just snap the shot and run.

As a level 47 Undead Shadow Priest, she wasn't very difficult. I had to burn my fear twice, but never had to shift out of Shadowform to heal. I killed her with about 30% of my mana and 50% of my health remaining.

I got her down as a lvl 46 UD shadow priest. Was a pretty tough fight. I didn't know that she had immense armor, so I eventually ran outta mana and she was hitting me hard. I popped a pot and then just kept kiting her and popping mind flay when it was there. Almost died, but thanks for the pot and mindflay, I brought her down with my relief. Would most definitely not recommend a lvl 46 to try it.

took her down as a lvl 47 destruction lock, sent in voidwalker, cast immolate, corruption, curse of agony, fear, siphon life, confrogulate and repeated again. Pretty easy came after me once and my backlash kicked in which gave me a no-cast shadowbolt then hit her with shadowburn, poof she died.

Easy battle, she is still around and once killed takes about 7-10 minutes to respawn, always hulking around the shore around by Revantusk Village.

I solo'ed her with my hunter, lvl 48 with BM spec and pet cat using Bestial Wrath, Hunters Mark, Serpent Sting and Arcane Shot, while healing my pet.

I made the mistake of running into a rarespawn turtle named Ironback, though, and he hurts. Tanked him in bear form, though, with 400 hp to spare afterwards.

I solo'd this at 49, no pots. All you need to do is open up with your stuns (Cheap Shot, Kidney Shot) and get her down to about say 3/4 health. Then, gouge+run towards the Horde town, shoot her with a gun/bow/other and wait for her to get in range of Gouge and do it again. Keep doing that until you reach the 65 guards that will tear her apart and bingo, you're finished.

Ok, so the fact thats already been mentioned a few times is Gammerita is a reference to the giant turtle monster Gamera.

Just as a further sidenote to this fact is that in the spanish language whenever you tack on -ita (or -ito for the masculine version) to the end of a word it means the word is young or small in a sense, so if you were named Juan and people called you Juanito it would mean you were a kid. So Gammerita is a smaller version of Gammer aka Gamera.

I solod as a 47 warrior. All you have to do is have a ranged weapon, potion and bandages. What you do is just fight him as a regular mob, I got him to about 75% before I was about to die since my health was real low, then use Intimidating Shout and Bandage, then fight him again and take him down as far as you can. I got him to 55+% and then I was about to die again so what you do is hamstring and run. Keep using your ranged weapon on him from time to time kiting him to Raventusk Village. Remember to also hamstring from time to time and keep using your range weapon so he doesnt reset. Once at raventusk village keep using your bow and kiting to maintain agro(f you have to, use your potion and go all out).

I could have easily found a group because there were other people around near me killing the regular turtles but I wanted to see if I could do it myself. Remember its real hard to solo this as a melee class. I did this with my 46 mage a long time ago remembering how easy as hell it was before I did it with my warrior. GL

She pops at the waterfall every time and walks toward the village - I just killed her and she repopped on top of us at the waterfall. Solod as 47 lock with some difficulty as I out-threatted my pet.

easy peasy had a little mana left and more than half health
just mind blast, sw:p, mind flay (mine stunned him 4 3 seconds) mind flay, mind blast minf flay do NOT re bubble. when he breaks ur bubble recast sw:p then cast vamp embrace on him, then another mind blast (by this time im at about half health and hes almost dead) fear him (mobs around are yellow do not be afraid of pulling them)then bandage/potion (do not go into heal form as this wastes mana, and if ur feeliong confident (like i was) i just keep casting mind flay). if u have a lotta intel like i do,u should have enough left 4 a mind blast and a mind flay, use this and then wand to death (he actually died on the mind flay because sw:p is still ticking while hes feared)

i had 1800 health (buffed) USE INNER FIRE
i had 3700 mana (unbuffed)

I guess I got lucky just now. For my 48 mage I started walking north out of Raventusk (I'm horde) and Gammerita was a frostbolt's distance away from the village. aka, I had to do no work.

Btw I remember I kited gammerita into the raventusk village defenders when i was lower level but I didn't get credit for the kill so I couldn't loot it and complete the quest. Just fyi in case you were thinking of doing that.

have been farming Gammerita's area now for 2 days aguiring turtle scales for leatherwork, she will now on occassion drop some good items one of which i now use (lvl47 hunter), "The Skullsplitting Crossbow" look it up. Shame I did'nt get to her when she was a mega nasty cuz now just another kill.

never fought it when it was elite, but just soloed easily w/ 45 dwarf hunter...didnt need any potions either. respawned by the time i had downed two more turtles, so it should never be difficult to find

If you want, the photo quest also works if you take a picture of the corpse, if someone got there ahead of you and killed it, so no need to wait for respawns if someone is killing it to keep you from completing your quest.

Usually drops 1-3 speckled shell fragments when I kill her and skins for 1-2 thick or rugged leather and 1-3 turtle scales, good to stop and kill her if you farm over there, hard fight though, I need to evasion and stunlock every time.

Hi, everyone.
Level 44 Druid, here. This quest was not bad at all, in fact, for not having explored any of The Hinterlands before this, it was quite easy. Getting there might be the only annoying part. Once there, the tortoises are neutral and can get an easy snap-shot of Gamme (she is level 48) and hostile. She was distracted, so snapping the photo is a cinch!

Simplest Quest I've done. Did it as a lvl 43 hunter. Rode there, ran off the cliff, dismissed pet. Found her right by the waterfall. Took the pic and then feigned death. Waited a few seconds till she moved a bit, and then ran for it. No damage and it took longer to get there than to do the quest.

So, I was running up and down the Eastern Hinterlands coast for about 30 minutes, and did not see Gammerita once. Is this turtle a rare spawn or something?

Update: I went back a few days later to try again, and found it in a couple of minutes and was able to take the picture.

Although she is no longer Elite, Gammerita still has considerably more Armor than her fellow saltwater snapjaw turtles.

(My hunter's Beast Lore says she has 5716 Armor, as compared with the more modest 4467 Armor of a level 50 Saltwater Snapjaw.)

SOMETIMES SPAWNS IN WATER, so if doing the quest and you don't spot her, start looking in water.

Confirmed can be tamed in WotLK Classic. Was looking for Ironback when I came upon her and tamed easily with a freezing trap and tame beast.
