With Nazjatar available for testing on the PTR, the questline leading to the new raid of Rise of Azshara, The Eternal Palace, is also available for testing. We went through the questlines for both Horde and Alliance and documented them!
WARNING: Story spoilers in this post! Do not continue on if you don't wanna be spoiled!
The Naga Slaves and Ashvane's Pact
Once you're ported to Mezzamere/Newhome, Jaina/Lor'themar offer the quest
Renseignements sur l’ennemi
/
Renseignements sur l’ennemi
, giving us a mini audience with Blademaster Okani of the Ankoan or Neri Sharpfin of the Unshackled. In
Savoir en perdition
/

and
Liés par l’honneur
/
La mort en punition
, we help the Ankoan/Unshackled by freeing some of their soldiers from the Zoatroids, mind-leeching squids, and kill some naga in the process.
We find the rescued Ankoan/Unshackled in a cave, and after treat some of their wounds in
Ce que nous savons des Nagas
/
Ce que nous savons des Nagas
, they talk more about Azshara and her naga forces. In
Infiltration exploratoire
/
Infiltration exploratoire
, we use a dead zoatroid to fake being mind controlled by the Naga, and go undercover to find this grave threat!
Alliance:
Adaru: Azshara's forces hold dominion over all of Nazjatar.
Adaru: The Azshari are vile summoners, calling upon the times to do their bidding.
Adaru: Those who wield the dark magic of the void call themselves the Shirakess.
Adaru: But the Zanj'ir are the ones who pose the gravest threat.
Adaru: Something powerful lies hidden within their military stronghold.
---
Horde:
Fenn: Azshara has minions across all of Nazjatar.
Fenn: The Azsh'ari summoners can force the tides to do their evil bidding.
Fenn: Some of the naga have learned to harness the Void. They call themselves the Shirakess.
Fenn: But the Zanj'ir are the ones who should worry you the most.
Fenn: They're hiding something powerful within their military stronghold.
After we report to Overseer Hajeer of the Zanj'ir, he sends us to do mundane slave tasks - Feeding Snapdragons in
Morfales mordragons

and collect pearls from the caves in
Un travail pas si insignifiant
/
Un travail pas si insignifiant
. Don't get too close to the Snapdragons when feeding them, they can smell through your dead zoatroid!
After completing your slave tasks, Hajeer compliments you and sends you to another task - Find weaponry imbued with foreign material in
Toujours à l’affûtage
/
Toujours à l’affûtage
. Turns out the foreign material is Azerite! As we definitely don't want the naga in possession of Azerite weapons, we steal them and run out of Zanj'ir terrace, using the Azerite weapons to empower ourselves on the way in
Les secrets des Nagas
/
Les secrets des Nagas
. We return them to the Ankoan cave, where Jaina/Lor'themar and Okani/Oculeth are waiting for us. Jaina/Lorthemar recognize the weapon as Ashvane's work.
Okani/Oculeth mentions he has studied Azerite weaponry recently and knows how to track it by using ooze that reacts to bioluminescent light. We gather the materials required by Okani/Oculeth in
Liquidation des limaces
/
Liquidation des limaces
and
Cristaux très recherchés

in Bloodfin Village, a murloc village to the west of the cavern. After we bring the materials to Okani/Oculeth, we use them to follow a very distinct Azerite trail in
Résidu, où es-tu ?

Résidu, où es-tu ?
, leading us to another cave.
As we find the cave and a hefty cache of Azerite, we hear Ashvane at the back of the cavern! We deal with Ashvane in
Confiscation des armes
/
Confiscation des armes
, where we discover Ashvane has a pact with Azshara - The naga queen teleports her to safety after we dispatch the naga waves protecting Ashvane. After Ashvane disappears, we return to Jaina/Lor'themar in Mezzamere/Newhome.
Priscilla Ashvane: I must say, you naga excel at taking orders. These weapons are among the most powerful I have ever created.
---
Priscilla Ashvane: You again? I should have known.
Priscilla Ashvane: Workers! Deal with this intruder. Nothing halts production!
Priscilla Ashvane: This won't end well for you, I'm afraid.
Priscilla Ashvane: You face far greater forces than you know.
Priscilla Ashvane: This is your last warning! I can still offer you mercy.
Priscilla Ashvane: Leave now and I will call off the assault.
---
Priscilla Ashvane: Azshara!
Priscilla Ashvane: AZSHARA!
Priscilla Ashvane: You cannot leave me here to die! We had a deal!
Queen Azshara: Contain yourself, human. Show faith in your queen.
Queen Azshara: I would not let them take you. Not before you have fulfilled your destiny.
After we deliver our reports, we're requested to do 1 World Quest in
Des amis dans le besoin
/
À terre, mais en vie
to familiarize ourselves with the Ankoan/Unshackled. After this point, the questline differs for both Horde and Alliance, but they both have the same objective: Finding a powerful weapon to strike Azshara with.
The Javelins of Suramar: Alliance
As we return to Jaina once more, Shandris appears with reports of a weapon they could use against the Naga guarding the Tidal Conflux, and sends us to a closer point in
Un point d’appui
. As we reach Utama's Strand, we survey
Ce qu’il reste de Zin-Azshari
and follow some more Ankoan tasks in
La vengeance d’Utama
and
Il y a quelque chose dans l’eau
. As we meet Shandris again near a giant statue of Queen Azshara, an image appears and talks about sacrifice to us.
Shandris Feathermoon: I never expected to set eyes upon this city again.
Shandris Feathermoon: Azshara. She sacrificed her people twice over. Once to the Legion. Again to N'Zoth.
Image of Queen Azshara: My sweet child. As a general, you should be familiar with sacrifice. A leader must ever serve the greater good.
Shandris Feathermoon: "Good"?! What "good" is there in trading your people's lives for power? In twisting them into aberrations?!
Image of Queen Azshara: Such a pity. It seems you do not yet understand. Not to worry. Very soon, you will.
We then collect Elemental Cores to help with our task in
Le plein de mana
, and return to Shandris, who then sends us to inspect nearby ruins in
Les secrets des ruines
and
Échos de douleur
, figuring the spirits inhabiting those ruins were actually of Highborne elves, Azshara's supposed favorites. As you talk to the Highborne, you note they're blissfully unaware of the fact they're dead and wandering around as spirits.
Thanks to the information from the Highborne and books scattered around the ruins, we discover that there is a handmaiden of Azshara in Eluna'lor Temple, and head there. Initially, we're tasked to defeat the naga in
L’élimination des profanateurs
and help the Highborne spirits rest in peace by telling them the truth in
Œillères d’outre-tombe
. After we return, Shandris tells us that the Javelins of Suramar, a subject constantly talked about by the Highborne spirits, is a weapon capable of piercing magical barriers, and we're told to retrieve it from the handmaiden in
Les javelots d’Azshara
. We then return to Javelin of Suramar to Jaina in Mezzamere.
The Javelins of Suramar: Horde
Once we return to Newhome, Thalyssra wants to go to Zin-Azshari and research for weapons to use against Azshara, and we go there in
En route pour Zin-Azshari
. As we arrive in Nar'anan, Thalyssra discovers an inactive communication crystal, and sends us to gather more relics that could contain enough power to activate the crystal in
Passez-moi le 22 à Nazjatar
. As we return to Thalyssra, an image of Azshara appears and taunts her. Thalyssra then sends you to disrupt forces of the Void in
Terreurs des profondeurs
, and after we find the second communication crystal, the image of Azshara appears again.
Image of Queen Azshara: How quaint of you to restore these remnants of a simpler age.
First Arcanist Thalyssra: Azshara! She has found us!
Image of Queen Azshara: This is my realm, child. Not so much as a single spell can be cast in Nazjatar without my knowledge.
First Arcanist Thalyssra: I am First Arcanist Thalyssra of Suramar, and you are not my queen!
Image of Queen Azshara: I know who you are, rude little Thalyssra. You presume to refer to yourself as "First Arcanist"? How... ambitious.
Image of Queen Azshara: Zin-Azshari is wondrous to behold, but do be careful. It would be a pity to suffer harm before I can grant you a proper audience.
---
Image of Queen Azshara: Defeating a mere herald means nothing. N'Zoth's visions are growing stronger... more tangible. There is so much he wants you to see.
First Arcanist Thalyssra: Your ambitions doomed the people of Zin-Azshari! For this? All to earn the favor of your dark master?
Image of Queen Azshara: The bargain was struck on MY terms, and through it, my loyal followers embraced a grand destiny. You cannot see the truth it, but you will. Oh, how you will!
After this, we inspect the nearby Highborne ruins in
Palabres avec les morts
, and inspect Oculeth's old shop for his notes in
Les secrets de la télémancie
. This time around, you receive clear information of the location of the Javelins of Suramar, wielded by one of Azshara's favored handmaidens. As we go after the Javelins in
À la suivante
, Shandris appears and bickers a bit with Thalyssra, only for them to be interrupted by yet another image of Azshara. As we gather the Javelin of Suramar, we return to Lor'themar in Newhome in
On va leur crever les yeux
.
Shandris Feathermoon: Here to admire the Highborne's handiwork, Thalyssra? To look upon all that your hubris has wrought?
First Arcanist Thalyssra: Suramar rebelled against Azshara. Were it not for our courage, the Legion's forces would have overwhelmed Azeroth.
Shandris Feathermoon: Yet instead of fighting alongside the rest of us, you walled yourselves off as Kalimdor burned around you.
Image of Queen Azshara: It breaks a queen's heart to watch her subjects squabble. Such a futile argument. In the end, you will all be mine again--one way or another.
Shandris Feathermoon: Azshara. Rest assured that we stand united in our contempt for you.
Image of Queen Azshara: You see? We have found common ground already. Dear children, it is only a matter of time until you kneel before my throne. As a willing subject... or a broken corpse.
First Arcanist Thalyssra: Shandris. We sealed off Suramar to keep the Pillars of Creation free from Azshara's grasp. The power she holds with just the Tidestone...
Shandris Feathermoon: I know. So long as it remains in her clutches, we have little hope of victory.
Assault on the Tidal Conflux
With the Javelin of Suramar in our power, we are ready to strike Azshara's champion, and we move to the task in
Portés par la marée
/
Une marée inexorable
. Jaina/Lor'themar asks us to meet outside the main Naga encampment, where the Horde and Alliance forces meet! The dialogue slightly changes here, but the result is the same: We rush through the naga forces accompanied by Lor'themar and Greymane, and defeat the naga champion with Jaina and Thalyssra.
Genn Greymane: Ah, <player>, you've arrived. Perfect timing...
Lor'themar Theron: We plan to secure the Tidestone. I advise you stay out of our way.
Lady Jaina Proudmoore: This is our best opportunity to seize the Tidestone from Azshara's grasp.
First Arcanist Thalyssra: Their champion holds the Javelin of Suramar. We should hear what they have to say.
---
Genn Greymane: Jaina, our troops stand no chance against the Tidestone's guardian. Lor'themar and I will deal with the rest of the nags while you confront her.
Lady Jaina Proudmoore: Our champion bears the Javelin. We must ensure it strikes true. First Arcanist, if you shield me while I attack, we stand a better chance of succeeding.
First Arcanist Thalyssra: A sound plan. We face a formidable foe.
Lor'themar Theron: Coordination between our forces is the best strategy. But know that any duplicity will be met with retribution.
---
Genn Greymane: Champion, with me. I would have you by my side when we take the camp.
Lor'themar Theron: As you wish, Greymane. Your champion does not frighten me.
Genn Greymane: Hmph. You fight well... for an elf.
Lor'themar Theron: And you fight well for a wolf.
---
Lady Jaina Proudmoore: Now, champion! Hurl the Javelin!
Lor'themar Theron: Your arrival is timely. They seem to be spoiling for a fight.
Genn Greymane: I thought I smelled an ambush...
First Arcanist Thalyssra: This is our best opportunity to seize the Tidestone from Azshara's grasp.
Lady Jaina Proudmoore: Their champion holds the Javelin of Suramar. We should hear what they have to say.
---
Lor'themar Theron: Thalyssra, there is little our troops can do against the guardian. We shall assault the nearby camp to buy you the time you need.
First Arcanist Thalyssra: Very well. We must distract the guardian so our champion can breach her defenses. Lady Proudmoore, we stand a better chance if we work together.
Lady Jaina Proudmoore: Your plan is sound. Let's see it done.
Genn Greymane: Be warned that if I catch even the scent of treachery, I will tear you to shreds.
---
Lor'themar Theron: I shall accompany you. Together we can strike at the heart of the camp.
Genn Greymane: Two against one, is it? You are right to beware of me, elf.
Lor'themar Theron: Impressive, Greymane. A pity we never had the honor of facing one another on the battlefield.
Genn Greymane: How fortunate that we never did. It would have been a waste to kill you.
---
First Arcanist Thalyssra: Strike now, champion! Throw the Javelin!
With Azshara's champion taken down, we conquer the Tidal Flux and secure the Tidestone, and are sent to take the fight over to Azshara in
Le palais Éternel : le stratagème de la reine
/
Le palais Éternel : le stratagème de la reine
, but not before the image of Azshara appears for one last time to formally invite us to enter her Eternal Palace.
Lor'themar Theron: The Horde's champions will drive every last naga from the palace. Azshara will pay for what she's done.
Lady Jaina Proudmoore: Alliance heroes will dethrone the would-be queen. We won't seek a fight with you, Lor'themar, but we will not abide interference.
Image of Queen Azshara: What have we here? Bitter rivals standing united around my Tidestone. I really do possess a gift for bringing my subjects together.
Lady Jaina Proudmoore: You can't stop us, Azshara. We are coming to end your reign.
Image of Queen Azshara: Stop you? My dear child, why would I want to stop you?
Image of Queen Azshara: Consider this a formal invitation. My palace has been made ready. Your presence is eagerly anticipated.
Lor'themar Theron: We cannot afford to underestimate her strength, Jaina. It may take all of us to defeat her.
The Eye of the Corruptor
During the Javelins of Suramar part of the questline, we're asked to deal with a gigantic zoatroid, the Eye of the Corruptor, in
Il y a quelque chose dans l’eau
and
Terreurs des profondeurs
. In both quests, it is told that its power is connected to N'Zoth, and we must not allow it to spread further corruption in Nazjatar. As we approach the Eye of the Corruptor, we're bombarded with many different ominous whispers. The whispers are as follows:
Eye of the Corruptor: Listen. Listen. Listen. LISTEN.
Eye of the Corruptor: You were right to doubt them.
Eye of the Corruptor: The undrowned will join the chorus. Listen to it.
Eye of the Corruptor: Listen. Open the gate. Step into the abyss. Complete the circle.
Eye of the Corruptor: Listen. You know this is the truth. It is but one of a thousand. You have only to listen.
Eye of the Corruptor: Everywhere you look, the stars gaze back. You know their form already. You have but to listen.
Eye of the Corruptor: Listen. She is a threat. Kill her. KILL HER.
Eye of the Corruptor: The queen threatens the king. There is no way to win. Listen.
This seems to match the whispers that came from previous void or corrupted entities, such as Xal'atath and Il'gynoth. However, it is not clear who are most of those whispers direct at, with the Eye of the Corruptor purposefully sounding desperate, wanting you to pay attention to his truth, even if its only one in a thousand possible truths.
