This talent is a great PvP talent. While other classes may do more damage in PvP, with these treants beating on the enemy, casters will have a very hard time hitting back. Melee will also have a very hard time while rooted and having 3 trees beeting on them :). They hit for about 130 each, and crit for about 300.

Aye, I'm loving my Treants. They do a fair amount of damage and casters HATE them. Most useful against warlocks, really. Mages can hit Arcane Explosion a few times and have them be gone, but it keeps the mage occupied is the thing. While they're worrying about your little buddies, you blow them away.

I dueled a very large well geared pally (Rather skilled also) and almost beat him by planting those guys down on him, and not doign anythign else. And he was a dpsadin. Balance is now the pwnage. Now to figure out how to pull that off, the starfire, and the stealth attack....

I have found this to be a very nice opener when guarding a node in AB. Since it is instant cast you can pop it right out of shadowmeld.

As a pvp healing priest these things aren't really that big of a deal. I usually just fear em, which takes up to half of their duration. The damage they deal isn't really significant with a shield/renew/inner focus and 70% casting focus is enough to still be able to get flash heals out.

Does anyone know if these bad boys scale, and if so, with what? Having three of them hit for 150 or so on a rogue is great and all, but what happens when that rogue now has 8k hitpoints and I'm similarly geared up?

2.1.2 Patch - Force of Nature: This spell will no longer causes players it is cast on to enter combat with nearby creatures. All of the treants summoned will now attack a neutral creature they are summoned on.

I think that to make this better in PvE, but still keep its quality in PvP, they could reduce it to one treant, increase that ones DPS make it controlable and add a spell to it, just like the water elemental.

They can easyly off-tank your Boomkin but when casted directly in a middle of group of monsters as a fight-start, than if you're lucky and treants will attack all the targets (arround 100% chance for that when facting 2 enemies) you can cast Hurracane not actually wasting your Bark Skin for that, they aren't too strong, but they'll hold 2-3 foes fight (especially with 25% attack speed reduction from your HC) so that you can just finish them.
Ofcourse assuming that your foes aren't immune to nature, run in fear and call friends, 'n stuff "Doh".
Beside that, they're perfect if you're healing (as i often had to do with good mana pool and DamageAndHeal gear). Your tank can be a wasteup and don't aggro too good with more than 1 foe, then just cast it on enemies that are aproching you after you aggro from healing. In this not-so-rare case they're a real lifesaver.
Oh and they're just AI so a hunter's FD will generaly lose them.

This is, in my opinion, the best skill you get as a druid. I am only level 52, so I have no idea if there are better ones. This is a great spel for soloing and something all druids should look forward to.

I love adding this, Barov Peasant Caller, and Hurricane to my "Cyclone the tank" tactic in AV. While the damage is nice the real purpose is getting to enjoy seeing how many people stop lag or disconnect while Van runs rampant.

I've been using this talent many times during raid encounters. It's not bad to have, in my opinion. I'm at about 800ish spell damage and my trees hit for about 200. With a three minute cooldown, you can end up using it multiple times during an encounter.
I've only tried it on Gruul the Dragonkiller, so far, so I can't tell you how it is on an encounter with multiple targets (though I would imagine it would be less effective due to the lack of a pet bar).

Best vs. ele shams imo, they got no pushback resist mostly, if i duel them with this + cyclone for intterupt they rly barely do any dmge at all.

These are very useful for their pushback, and can do some pretty sound damage too. Their downfall is the fact that they are mindless, and will sometimes attack things you don't want, and not attack things you do want. Also, they have very little health, which makes them vulnerable to classes to AoE. Smart hunter's will usually wait to use Feign Death (if they haven't used it already) after the moonkin has used their treants. The treants will then attack the pet, making them useless unless the pet they're attacking is almost dead.

Although they are a nature spell and for some reason when you cast them on some one who is immune to nature damage it says immune, they do physical damage and no matter how much nature resistance the enemy has it doesn't impare the Trees ability to pound them.
speaking of which does anyone know if there is a inital nature damage caused by casting on a enemy?
Just as a side note I am a leather woker and am able to use drums. which gives a nice little boost for the trees. also if you are fighting 1 or 2 mobs fairy fire works well. and if you realy want to boost your tress "gift of the wild" will buff them all, and tranquility can heal them all. auras and totems are more cost effective due to the fact that they are only around for 30 seconds.

Hey, you know when I try to ninja or solo capure a node in Arathi Basin and it appears no one is there. I always cast Force of Nature and Natures Grasp. This way a steather doesn't get the best of me. I kill the stealther nearly everytime with the trees adding damage while I'm stunned and such.
This spell has many uses, and it is often the deciding factor in fights on many different occasions. If anything this spell is under rated.

General tip
To very easily increase the damage done by your treants, debuff their target(s) with Faerie Fire.
Generally, use the cooldown as often as it's up. There's rarely reason to save it, as the treants have their own aggro table (no additional threat to you). However, there is one exception: When a mob parries a treant's attack (like any other attack), their next swing at the tank is faster. For that reason, be careful when using it in fights or phases where the tank is in dire danger of dying. This can be avoided by having the treants attack the mob's back, but that's not always easy to do with their hardly top AI.
Be careful when using them in mob-infested areas. They are quick to run to the next mob, thus aggroing it. Chances are large that they'll die long before the next mob is dead, thus leaving you alone with the mob.
PVP
In PVP, there's a lot of ways to avoid their damage. Some of the more common (apart from Ice Block and the like which avoids prevents damage):
Mage: Frost Nova and move away, or Arcane Explosion a few times. Icy Veins will also prevent any casting time lost, but not their damage.
Warlock: Howl of Terror.
Priest: Psychic Scream.
Rogue: Vanish, or Evasion will mitigate a lot of it.
Druid: No really good way, ironically enough. Swipe or Hurricane will all take some time to clean them up.
Hunter: Feign Death (which will most of the time move the treants to their pet), various traps.
Shaman: Stoneclaw Totem, Fire Nova Totem.
Warrior: Intimidating Shout.
Paladin: No really good way, outside of Consecration and wait them out.
For the druid using it, the best is to outlast a cooldown or two before throwing them in. If you can wait until Howl of Terror, Intimidating Shout, Psychic Scream, Frost Nova or Feign Death is on cooldown, you'll get much more benefit out of it.
The treants will not attack any player in stealth, even if spawned on top of them. Use Hurricane (Rank 1) to get a visible target before using treants on them.
Soloing
While soloing, there's (at least) two ways to use the treants effectively.
Elite soloing
One way is to use them for additional damage, like a dot. Useful against elites and the like. Suggested elite-killing tactic from max range, against mobs immune to CC:
Start in Moonkin Form. Activate any damage (and healing) trinkets.
Starfire to pull.
Starfire while they're closing in, unless they've got some kind of charge ability.
If either of the two starfires stunned the enemy, throw in another starfire.
Insect Swarm.
Moonfire.
Faerie Fire.
Force of Nature
.
Barkskin.
Starfire x 3 while Barkskin lasts. Perhaps x4 if you're lucky with crits (Nature's Grace).
Renew Insect Swarm and Moonfire.
Wrath until the mob dies, renewing Moonfire and Insect Swarm as often as you need to, or you need to heal (perhaps bear -> bash -> heal, or tauren racial -> heal).
Variant elite grinding order
, focus more on outlasting. Best combined with additional armor equipment to mitigate more of the mob's damage:
Start in Moonkin Form. Do not activate any damage (and healing) trinkets yet.
Starfire to pull.
Starfire while they're closing in, unless they've got some kind of charge ability.
If either of the two starfires stunned the enemy, throw in another starfire.
Insect Swarm.
Moonfire.
Faerie Fire.
Shift to Bearform.
Melee until you've got 10 rage.
Demoralizing Roar.
Shift to Moonkin form again.
Activate any damage/healing trinkets.
Force of Nature
.
Renew Insect Swarm and Moonfire.
Barkskin.
Starfire x 3 while Barkskin lasts. Perhaps x4 if you're lucky with crits (Nature's Grace).
Renew Insect Swarm and Moonfire again.
Wrath until the mob dies, or you need to heal (perhaps bear -> bash -> heal, or tauren racial -> heal).
Mana Regen
:
Another way is to use them for mana regen.
Start in moonkin form. Equip AP gear (at least a feral AP staff).
Cast
Force of Nature
on a target. They'll aggro and start attacking.
Optionally cast Faerie Fire on the same target, if you want the treants to do more damage.
Melee the mob while the treants hold aggro.
Doing this every 3 min, in addition to Innervate will allow you to grind almost endlessly without drinking.

Against mobs immune to nature damage, I keep getting the message "Immune" when the treants are first summoned on the mob. But the treants still attack and does damage. I just can't understand what effect they're immune to. Does anyone know if there's an additional effect when they are summoned on a target, for example a taunt-like ability?

Also scales with the balance druids atk power, as evidenced by wearing a 1K atk power bonus staff or having blessing of might(or simply casting them in caster form vs moonkin form). Unknown as of yet if it continuous change or they lose the bonus to their damage when you take off the atk power staff and switch to a caster weapon again.
Also for reference they're damage seems to scale based on your total +nature damage so flask of blinding light is better then supreme power for flasking.

I wasn't sure that blizzards current programing allowed for multiple pets onthe same bar, which is why the enhance shamy's ghost wolf pet summon thingy ( the technical term for it >.>) was still yet to be implimented

these treants ahve amazing dps at lvl 51 in un`goro crater as a tauren balance druid if i have pulled too many silithid in the slithering scar and i summon these treants. with 132 spell damage and 149 healing the treants do about 70 damage per hit. At the beggining of a battle i pull 2 silithids and by the time i kill one of them the treants ahve gotten the other one to about 10% and i ahve to do a quick moonfire so that i get credit for the kill.Also i have noticed and im not sure why i didnt think of faerie firing the mob so treants do more damage.With treants and rooting the mob i ahve been able to solo those damn elite stegodons in terror run. Also helps if a mage tries to pyroblast gives u enough time to shift forms and cast them dead.Since most clothies have little health it helps to ahve treants to beat on them if they dont think of AoEing or fearing them.

-Damage scaled up noticeably (They crit for almost 1000 on the target dummies with +700 SP. Crit a gnome warlock for 1.5k with 1.2k spell power).
-
They get a pet bar! =O
(No more unwanted aggro of other mobs!)
-With Blizzard FINALLY letting you see mob health, you can see that each treant has around 2.5k health. (400 current Stamina. Seems health scales up with Stam. 700 Stam hits them around 3.5k-ish)
-Brambles adds 15% extra damage, not to mention the 15% chance to daze the target (50% reduced movement speed). Assuming that the Treants attack every two seconds, that means every two seconds, the enemy has an (approximate) 38-39% chance of getting dazed.
And that's it really. Small amount of changes, but they make a huge difference.
TREANT STATS
Stats: 2.1k Spellpower, 1.6k Stamina, No haste. The trees seem to take your spell critical chance. Buffed with IMotW. 3/3 Brambles.

As of 3.0.2 the patch notes wrongly state that the cooldown for Force of Nature has been changed to 2 minutes from 3 minutes.
The cooldown remains 3 minutes.

I love this talent I took on 8 lvl 50 mobs at once at lvl 52 Just cast force of nature then 2 hurricanes. Of course with pretty decent gear like 2 freezing bands and a talisman of arathor would probably help alot they went down like flies.

This spell is way too powerful considering they get another spell on the same tier. Ive seen them hitting for 500+, with 3 of em that daze and a very short C, this is a cheap, but effective win.
The weakness is the health, tend to average around 3-3.5k. A little AoE should clear them up, even better if you catch the druid in it too.

This is an incredibly useful and underrated spell. Several uses for it, some of which have been suggested above:
1. Mana efficiency. FoN is among the most efficient damage spells in the game, assuming you can keep the treants alive for the full duration (normally this is done by making sure they don't have aggro, since they are pretty wimpy). It is much more efficient than Insect Swarm, for example. FoN should always be part of your rotation on bosses, unless there are structural reasons not to cast it, such as a danger of pulling adds, or a boss that uses Cleave.
2. Use it to take a "coffee break" while grinding. It is actually possible to drink after casting FoN but before the treants aggro a nearby mob (thus putting you in combat). Unfortunately there is no way that I know of to macro this, since you have to select where to cast the spell. Maybe a script that says "click the left mouse button, then drink"? I don't know enough about scripting to pull it off. I find that I can drink about 50% of the time if I have the drink item keybound and I'm VERY quick on the trigger. There is no danger of the mob breaking aggro and attacking you, unless you attack it or heal yourself. Even if you can't drink, just refraining from any casts while your treants kill the mob will allow you to regenerate a fair amount of mana.
3. Crowd control. With good coordination, you can use treants to occupy one or more mobs' attention while your group beats on their friends. The trouble here is that the treants only last ten seconds or so against elites, but hey, a 10 second CC that also does damage is pretty nice.
I have not personally found them very useful in PvP. Most classes either can ignore them or get rid of them quickly with AOEs. They are cheap, but they are also a waste of a global cooldown that could have been used for something better. PvP is all about burst damage and stuns, and those are two things this spell does not do. Typhoon, on the other hand...

with 2816 spell power, out of 7 casts in chicken form on heroic dummy the damage ranges from 21648 to 24852 without brambles.
they seem to scale with haste. popped
a haste trinket
and casted it immediately and did me 26241 damage for that summon.
they will automatically walk to dps the dummy from behind to negate parry.

After a few hours of testing multiple different ways of buffing these treeants, I've come to the conclusion that the only way to buff their damage myself is by putting talent points into brambles.
Without brambles my treeants did around 24-25k damage on a heroic training dummy when summoned right next to it.
After brambles they did around 31-32k. I noticed they were missing around 4-5% my hit rating was at 253, so I bumped it up to 325 they missed around 1-2% of the time, but still did around 31-32k damage. I bumped it up to 381 and they still missed around1-2% of the time, so it seems that their hit cap is right around the same as ours, but that no matter what they will miss some.
I tried using my talisman of resurgence before summoning the treeants, and it made no difference in their damage either, so I would say that if they do scale with spell power, it doesn't seem to include temporary sp gains (I also had varying spell powers from 2800-3200 (no procs) and never noticed a difference from that either so it seems unlikely to me that sp really affects them that much).
I also attempted casting my gift on the treeants to see if that would increase their overall damage, and got no gain that way either. I tried stacking my talisman and gift to see if it they may multiply damage and get a damage gain that way and no result either.
I tried using the haste trinket before calling the treeants and it did seem to make them attack faster. When summoned right on top of the heroic training dummy I got 56 hits out of my treeants every time. with the trinket active I got 60 hits (when I say hits, I'm including all misses and parries as well.). However the overall damage was still 31-32k.
I would have attempted gift and both trinkets at the same time were it not for the fact that by the time I could use the second trinket the first would have worn off.
The only other possible conclusion that I could draw from this data is that brambles prevents other bonus effects on the treeants, though this would be rather inane in my opinion.

I love 'my boys'! :D Has anybody been able to catagorically estimate how much damage they can do yet? I don't think it is insignificant. I can root a mob, draw a second lvl 68-70 mob in with moonfire then faierie fire, let my boys loose on the 2nd mob while I focus on the first and they will happily finish him off on their own much of the time.

I'm a lvl 44 druid I think this spell is going to rock, that's just me. The reason is, ok your about to die, poof random gaurdians helping you so you can heal. Also I think brambles talent has a thing while barkskin is on your treants 15% chance to stun the enemy, pretty good.

I love the little guys too. I'm a 64 Druid and the treants have saved my life more than once, BUT in instances they're not so great.
For some reason, everytime I let them loose, they always seem to go for the crowd controlled one...

They hit for ~85 and crit for around 150 at level 50. They are healable, so if you see it's low, heal it. I don't know how much health they have 'cause attacks against them aren't recorded so MobInfo doesn't pick it up. I ought to do an experiment with this.
I love these things. Right after I hit 50, I went to heal for Mara and these things are great for grouping. They pull aggro like a toy pet (As in they dont), and if you see there's a pat, just get the tank on them and summon. Takes care of the battle in a relatively quick manner. They're awesome for boss battles, too.
A nice feature about this is you can summon from a distance AND it's an instacast, so while in PVP, you can just throw these on the flag carrier and catch up without worrying about the carrier getting away. I haven't tested the distance at which they can go before they either disappear or return to you though.

u have written yur post as if evryone think that treants can solo other classes? dont u remember that the druid himself still can critt high critts and stunn with starfire or root the rouge and faeri fire him so he cant vanish. priests are a bit hard though but just keep yurself alive until the mana of the priest is totaly gone and then u innervate, root him and cast force of nature lol. can anyone say that the priest isnt screwed then? and force of nature is a cheap spell so that you can still cast damage spells and dot em with insect and moonfire. just find yur way to defeat other classes. u dont have to start the combat with force of nature, use yur spell when its most effective. and plz this spell might not be the best but if u got yur opponent rooted and doted and use this, he is totaly gone.
btw i got a balance druid lvl 46, critt higher than any frost mage with my 855 damage + he can get stunned and if he do get stunned he is wasted without even damaged me. ALL CLASSES HAVE A CHANCE VS THE OTHER (exept for annoying rouges that suddenly appear behind u and stunnlock)AND U JUST HAVE TO FIND A WAY TO DEAFET EM^_^

I got this spell (again, since i sold account before and made a new druid) and it is GREAT.
when i fight rouges i just barkskinn (since it can be used while stunned) then i natures grasp and dot him and then i send force of nature and then i can sit down and watch (im not able to watch for long since he dies quickly^^). its great vs paladins and warriors aswell, couse it will damage fast as hell and daze them so they cant reach u;). Pala will shield himself so u wouldnt in a normal case be able to kill a pala with yur treants still alive (if u dont use spell later in battle) becouse of the 30secs. and i guess u all know that all u balance and ferals have always been able to take down warriors easy^^. warlock are still hard but if u manage to stunn he is dead, priests are very hard but just do as i sayd before vs em, hunters have always been hard and will frost trap and slow down yur treants and then aim u hard, so i suggest u send treants to keep him busy then over time heal yurself and then go for doting, sleeping pet and then wrath or starfire, vs ferals u will probably win if u first sleep him then heal yurself for the damage he made when sneakin up on u and then do roots(to take down his mana when reshift form) and then do a force of nature then u can run back couse the treants will daze him hard and just keep him dotted with moonfire and insect swarm, u can also spamm moonfire couse balance druids critts high with it, well anyway i think u will be able to take many classes, but locks and priests will be the hardest as u will see.....

How does spel damage effect them? and im assuming that stamina adds health to them too. Also, when you summon them is it like casting hurricane and they just pop up?

these are useful but on mages i just frost nova and arc explo them and combin with shatter i can kill them in about 3hits and also do a nifty 2.5k dmg to the drood as well

i just thought of a really cool pic heres how to do it i cant cuz my druid is my alt.
Step 1) kindly ask a balence druid to summon the trees .
Step 2) get a druid in tree of life form to stand in front of the other trees.
Step 3) take pic(rember to take the balence druid out of the pic.)
it would be real kewl a tree and his peeps yea!

its a pretty cool spell on my 50 druid i owned a 59 mage because he didnt expect 3 trees to come and attack him and they lasted around 15 seconds not the full time but they did do a lot of handy damage and i could kill him =]

I was feral spec'ed for leveling up to my friends level, and attacked a balance druid. I got my face pwned hardcore by trees and spells, I couldn't kill the guy ( basically in plate ) before these creepies kicked my face in. Leather just doesn't cut it when these things are out.
I respec'ed to balance at 60 and I'm loving it! Coupled with Totem of Wrath from an elemental shaman, that's 8% crit rating just hanging out. Makes me feel special. We need more Balance droods running around! :D

I'm lvl 70! The treats have 2500hp each. Most of the time they can't be killed by anything instantly except a mage or a crit fire nova totem or a someone really lucky. I've seen em do about 10,000 damage in 30 sec of constant beating on a warlock, hitting the non-demonoligist for 200-450 with a crit. I've also seen em do about 92 damage a hit to a holy pally, seen 3 blocks too. When i upgraded to vengeful gear i noticed their damage scaling too.
Plus side to treants: they can do a lot of damage and can confuse the other team in an arena. They can also spot stealthed rogues that don't have many talent points in Master of Deception if the treants are near enough to them.
Minus side: You can only control where you summon them not where they go. The pet attack button doesn't work with them so many times you'll see you're treants attack a fel hunter or a hunter pet if they attack you before the treants have a target.
Best used when you've made the opponent use his ace card. i.e. Fear bombs, feign death, frost nova and blink, cloak of shadows and/or vanish.
Funny tip: If you summon treants and get out of combat you can turn into flying form and they will follow below you at the speed of your flying form. Fly over lowbies in outland and watch your treants go to town :).

it's awesome trick for PVE.
when you have to kill - loot something in a long tunnel, prowl and pass throught all the mobs until the end.
at the end cast force of the nature at the quest mob - group of mob that protect quest item ( WHITEOUT get out of prowl, or you will be attacked instaead. just cast it while in prowl and you will automatically return in caster form and summon istantly the trees, that will start attack everyone dealing damage and taking aggro)
while all are distracted loot the quest item, or focus on the boss. throw a lifebloom on the trees maybe so they dont die too fast, and you will cut long times in your "group" quests.

If your a 25-man raiding moonkin, please stop skipping this talent for some other bullcrap talent like Improved Faerie Fire. My trees average hits were around 260 so lets do the math. I'm gonna guess their attack speed is two seconds, which would put them at 130 dps each X three trees and you get an extra 390 dps. Yes they can also crit so their real dps is probly around 450. So if your one of the metally challenged PVE moonkins that don't think an extra 13,500 dmg from an instant cast is not worth one pathetic talent point, please switch your spec.
