I've found this spec to be ridiculously good since it's addition of the +2 rage and it's high proc rate. If any warriors are complaining about the rage normalization, I think that going with a mace spec is really good for not only extra inturrupts against casters with stuns, but also for extra rage generation. The only problem that comes from mace specialization is that the enemy often becomes immune to stuns because you stun them so often.
I find this spec to be superior to poleaxe spec due to the fact that you can get the +2 rage/stun on any hit that you deliver. Poleaxe, while adding 5% to crit rate, affects your hamstrings/pummels/intercepts as well, which are practically pointless, due to the fact that deepwounds will most likely always be up if you have anywhere near a 20% crit rate. With mace or sword spec, you have the chance to gain extra rage from yellow damage, rendering it more efficient.

Incorrect. Diminishing returns are on two different tables: one for controllable stuns (e.g. Hammer of Justice, Cheap Shot, Intercept Charge, etc) and one for non-controllable stuns (e.g. Mace Spec proc, Thunder proc, etc) and these two tables do not affect each other. Only stun affects of the same type (EITHER controllable OR non-controllable) will affect diminishing returns.

I was wondering if any1 has tryed going with 2 1-h maces and if that affected the proc rate? I recently bought a couple of green maces and am trying it out and after about 2h of grinding mobs to find out my proc rate i find about a 7 Proc per minute and was wondering if any1 else had tryed it and had different results before i start puirsuing 1-h maces?

as i read.. proc reduction is obvious.. anyway the rage generated has been raised to 7 right ?
Proc used to be:

I agree, Polaxe specc is quite useless. In this world dominated by Resilience, the purpose of Polaxe is merely to lessen the blow to your crit rating.
Saw a priest running around with over 400 resilience rating. That's more than -10% chance to be critically hit, 20% from damage, and 10% less damage from DoTs(bleeds are affected!)
Polaxe specc is broken; Sword specc is great for burst in PvP and strait damage in PvE, Mace specc is great for the tun, primarily, though the Rage is what makes it useful in PvE.
Do yourself a favor and don't specc Polaxe =P

I PvP a lot on my warrior, I have tested Poleaxe, Sword, and Mace spec.
Mace spec is my personal favorite, the problem is you just don't notice it until it really helps you. I have used Mace spec for a while and it has stopped heals allowing me to down my target faster, and it has stopped kiter's in there tracks.
Mace spec will proc off of hamstring so if you have the 15% chance to root from talents combined with mace spec, spamming Hamstring is a great way to slow people down.
The 7 rage that Mace spec also gives means you don't lose the extra rage gen that a Sword proc, or Axe crit would give you, to only thing lost is the damage and you can probably get a good hit or two on them while they are stunned for 3 sec.

What I want to know though is: it has a 3 sec stun that cannot occur more than once every 6 seconds according to the proc description, but does it count that 6 sec CD from the time that the stun first hits, or when it's over?
i.e.:
stun->1,2,3, stun over and CD begins->1,2,3,4,5,6, able to proc again
OR
stun->CD begins immediately->1,2,3, stun over, 4,5,6, CD over and able to proc again
I know you guys have posted the PPM ratings here, but that's not what I'm interested in. The reason I'm asking is because theoretically, if the second example I gave is the case and the CD begins when the stun does, then if a person WERE to DW maces and be mace spec then they'd have a pretty fair amount of uptime for stun (especially w/ hamstring and the meta gem proc also).

This talent has changed in beta build 8820, it now has a chance to grant 10 rage instead of a stun effect.

Mace is not that bad indeed, at lvl 70, 15 % armor reduction increases dmg vs 3k armor by 3.5%, 5K armor by 5%, 8k by 7%. Comparing with 5% of axe/sword, it means slight decrease dmg vs cloth, and dmg increase vs mail/plate.
However, the difference is much bigger at lvl 80 because cloth pvp armor no longer have bonus armor value.

Evaluation of mace stun in LK:
As a DK in mostly naxx 10 epics, I have around 13500 armor, putting my DR at 46.98%
So, a 1000 damage physical hit is reduced to 530.
With this talent, I would be put at 13500*0.85 or 11475 armor, putting my DR at 42.96%
A 1000 damage physical hit here would be reduced to 570.
570/530= 1.0754 or a 7.5% increase in damage against plate wearing targets with similar gear. More effective against those with better gear. Can use this same method to determine the strength against other targets, I assume against a cloth wearing class this would only add around 2-3% damage.
As for the 'up to' part of the talent, this is a safeguard blizzard likes to add on things somewhat arbitrarily. It could mean there is a cap on your total % of armor reduced, but you probably won't have to worry about hitting it for now.

I've used and mace spec for awhile on my arms warrior for PvE, but I didn't notice anything significant about "15% armor penetration rating" Without the spec's 15%, my armor penetration was about 12%, my stats were decent, over 3k AP 27% crit but my dps sucked. Went to poleaxe spec and that's been working out much better.
any explanation on how this spec works / affects dps for PvE warriors?
Edit: I don't see why I was rated down for this especially with no explanation as to why. I wasn't making a statement either, just asking a question about how mace spec and ArP affects arms warriors.

Okay, here is a fairly technical explanation we put together for how armor pen works.
We didn’t want Armor Penetration Rating to be too powerful against low armor targets, like it had been in BC. We also didn’t want Armor Penetration Rating to be too powerful against high armor targets.
So, we decided on a system where there is a cap on how much armor the Armor Penetration Rating can be applied to. So, the first X armor on the target is reduced by the percentage listed in the Armor Penetration Rating tooltip, and all armor past that X is unaffected. Another way of understanding that is we multiply the percentage in the tooltip times the minimum of the two values: the cap, and the amount of armor on the target after all other modifiers.
Computing the cap is a little tricky unless you are already familiar with how World of Warcraft armor works. There is an armor constant we’ll call C. C is derived as follows (in some pseudocode):
If (level<60)
C=400+85*targetlevel
Else
C=400+85*targetlevel+4.5*85*(targetlevel-59);
For a level 80 target, C=15232.5. For a level 83, C=16635.
The cap for Armor Penetration then is: (armor + C)/3.
A level 80 warrior creature has 9729 armor. C=15232.5. So, the cap is (9729+15232.5)/3=8320.5. Let’s say a player has 30% armor penetration from armor penetration rating and no other modifiers that complicate the calculation (talents, Battle Stance, Sunder Armor, etc.). The game chooses the minimum of 8320.5 and 9729, so 8320.5. That is multiplied by 30% = 2496.15, and so that much armor is ignored. The effective armor on the target is 7232.85 (9729-2496.15). From a player point of view, the armor penetration rating didn’t ignore the full 30%, but instead ignored 25.66%. (85.5% as effective as expected).
These equations should help you be able to test and verify that Armor Penetration Rating is working correctly and as we designed. The tooltip is not actually inaccurate, as it states: “Enemy armor reduced by up to 30.00%.” That "up to" is key.
Please be sure to test without any other effects which modify the armor calculation (Battle Stance, Sunder Armor, Mace Specialization, etc.) as they may involve other systems that add additional complexity to the calculation.
