In case it isn't clear, you use Arcanometer at the mouth of the cave(Which as the above co-ordinates). You do not need to enter the cave for this quest.

take the cliff trail down to the water at 47,28. when you get to the murloc encampment, find the cave at 40,20. you'll need to go into the cave past the torches to get the reading.

In case it wasn't clear - this cave is the the Murloc cave you go to for the Murloc quests. As stated before, just have to be past the torches to be able to get the reading.

The Arcanometer will not take the reading if you go too far into the cave.

I went through the area with the platforms to about 44/15, then down to the water. Or go around to avoid the mobs. The cave is across the water to the SW of your position. An Elixer of water walking is helpful here. Go through the murloc camp and up the trail. Enter the cave and use the device when just inside. The trail head to return to Amber Ledge is through the same area and starts at 50/36. Keep right and you will see the tower, then go left.

You approach the cave from the east, swimming across the water, NOT from the west on Coldarra.

Monitoring the Rift: Winterfin Cavern and Them! and On Noes, the Tadpoles! and Keymaster Urmgrgl can all be done at the same time, then once those are finished, start Escape from the Winterfin Caverns on your way out.

this quest must be bugged for me, none of the previous posted co-ords/comments work for me. Not saying it doesnt work at all, just not for me.

Don't know if it's worth mentioning but the problem I had was that I was using the wrong item - make sure you use the item that looks like a small tank on a blue background, and not the item that looks like a portal which you may have from another quest in The Nexus. Then, stand just inside the cave at the co-ordinates mentioned above and use it.

I just finished this quest. If you have trained Cold Weather Flying (using the BOA tome) you can land on the rocks above the mouth of the cave and use the item to complete the quest.

40,19 It is the cave on the Eastern edge of the Coldarra.

Yeah. 40,20 is right inside the cave.
If it dosen't work moved deeper into the cave.

The coords given here are correct. But, if you take the path down to the water below the questgiver, you're in for a long swim. By far the easiest way to get to the cavern is to fly to Fizzcrank Airstrip, then head straight west. You'll come to a path, heading slightly northwest, which leads down to the water directly across from the beach below the cavern. Swim to the southernmost tip of the beach, you should be able to reach the path to the cavern mouth with no trouble (I only had to fight one murlock). Use the Arcanometer inside the entrance (you have to go past the torches). Piece of cake.

Must be standing on the rock floor of the cave entrance for it to work. Just outside on sand won't work.
