Kul Tiras
Kul Tiras has some new characters and the land itself is a very dark land. Witches have been using the ancient druidic magic called death magic. Because its a druidic type of magic, there are large treant wicker type creature that walk the land along with wicker beasts that are made of wood and bone.
Stormsong Valley
Stormsong Valley has a port where every Kul Tiran navy ship passes through to be blessed by Sea Priests. This makes these ships different and special, desired by the Alliance to aid them in battle.
This zone is quite beautiful but also dark and mysterious
It has a significant nautical theme, down to the shape of dwellings being ship-like.
Stormsong Valley has a stronghold for the Sea Priests called Shine of the Storm. In-game, this is a 5-player dungeon.
Shrine of the Storm is a holy place where the Sea Priests pray and cleanse themselves with water.
A curse, though, exists among these Sea Priests that is taking over from within.
Drustvar
Drustvar is a forested mountainous region in Southwest Kul Tiras.
The Drustvar region supplies arms to the Kul Tiras as a whole.
Drustvar epitomizes the druidic and witchy magic that inhabits many corners of Kul Tiras
Originally, a long time ago, the zone was inhabited by a group called the Drust people. The Drust were large hardy kinda people;
The area was the overtaken by humans, they slew the Drust, but the Drust entirely didn’t leave. Everyone in the town seems to be frozen in time but still breathing, an effigy sits in the center of the town protected by some strong magic.
The Drustvar exist as spirits that live in the area, in the dead realm and have been slowly trying to work their way back into our world.
They have made a pact with the leader of that settlement, Lady Waycrest, and she decided to accept their help in exchange of the ability to have a stronger seat on the council of the leaders of Kul Tiras.
Accepting help from spirits who are interested in vengeance against your people leads to some bad results.
The zone gets into that vibe of creepy witches, these macabre figurines they infuse with the souls of others to act as their minions.
The (alive) witches get up to the point where they are ready to ascend, they accept the dead realms’s advice and slit their own throats, and become an ultra-powerful witch that have completely lost their minds.
Contains a dungeon where Lady Waycrest has her home, Waycrest Manor.
In the center of the starting town in the zone is Barrowknoll Cemetery which is dark and misty. It seems most of the creatures here would be friendly, such as stags, does, and tiny bunnies; all have been bewitched or cursed with blue glowing eyes and have become hostile. Further into the Cemetery there are spirits and more wicker wearing beasts and creatures.
To the southeast is Fletcher's Hollow, a small area has some humans fighting off massive amounts of wicker beasts and thralls. There is the Elderstone Mine that is shrouded in a ominous purple light. The overall feel of this entire zone gives off the feeling you are fighting against a witch-like being that is trying to curse all the living creatures of the land.
Tiragarde Sound
Zone in Kul Tiras that is overrun with pirates
Contains the dungeon Freehold which is a pirate stronghold full of bandits and thieves.
The capital city of Tiragarde Sound is Boralus which will be a max level dungeon, Siege of Boralus, set in the cityscape similar to Court of Stars.
Several crews of pirates find their bases here - Blacktooth Brawlers, Bilge Rats, and Cutwater Corsairs crews, currently gathered under the banner of the Irontide Raiders.
The human hub of Tiragarde Sound is lead by Katherine Proudmoore - Jaina's mother.
The humans here are known for being excellent hunters of sea monsters.
Zandalar
Zandalar land is full of primative beasts and ruins. Of course because they are trolls, there's dinosaurs! Giant brontosaurus looking creature that dwarfs the devilsaurs. Ancient gods that the Zandalari worship named Loa's, and not only that but Blood Trolls as well.
Nazmir
Nazmir was developed was created with a thought of it being a more primitive old world, with salt marshes and overgrowth. However there are some open areas that are much more friendly to the larger creatures that walk the land.
Nazmir is a traditional troll area. The first thing you notice is the massive Blood Moon in the sky.
Zone includes a former Titan facility where the Titans were experimenting with Old Gods and their magics.
This facility only has one of the three seals remaining on it so it seems ready to release some monstrosities from within - players have to deal with these last seals at some point in the expansion.
Bwonsamdi (the Loa of death) plays a major role in the zone. You traverse a broken bridge to The Necropolis. After drawing some runes and sounding the drum you enter the Necropolis, which is guarded by two Zandalari Empire stone guardians. Inside you see Bwonsamdi swirling in souls around him. He is the quest giver for The Necropolis.
The Blood Trolls of this zone are under the servitude of a powerful new creature that you will meet in the very first raid of this expansion.
Further east is Shaldra'mah, as you approach you see they are hostile until you get closer and transform into a Blood Troll, a tall pale troll with blood stained feet and legs up to the knee, blood stained hands to your elbows, neck stained blood and vials of blood hanging from the waist. Your hair is also soaked in blood and your eyes are black and sunken.
This zone contains the dungeon The Underrot – this subterranean dungeon is a primary source of corruption in Zandalar.
Zuldazar
Zuldazar is the Capital of the continent and only safe refuge in the region
Also contains current Horde capital for this expansion
Ruled by King Rastakhan and Princess Talanji
In this zone, we investigate an internal uprising
Contains the dungeon Atal’Dazar – Located in Zandalar and nestled in the mountains of Zuldazar, Atal’Dazar is the ancient resting place of the Zandalari kings and home to a sect of trolls engaged in dark rituals—along with dinosaurs, undead, and undead dinosaurs.
Contained within the outdoor area of Atal'Dazar is another dungeon, King’s Rest – this is the interior tomb of ancient troll kings who have been put to rest.
Voldun
This area is a desert
Legions of Old Gods attacked this area many years ago
Since it is generally uninhabitable, the Zandalari have used it as a place to send their unwanted criminals.
Here, we befriend the Vulpera (a race of Fox people)
It is also home of the snake-like people, the Sethrak.
Contains their sacred temple, the dungeon Temple of Sethraliss.
Additional information in the above sections is from Jeremy Feasel's interview with BlizzPlanet.
