Plot Summary of Broadcast Text
Jaina and Lor'themar have forged a temporary peace after members of the Alliance and Horde save Baine Bloodhoof from execution. They realize they must work together to have a chance against Azshara. Jaina wants to buy time for Saurfang's rebellion to take effect, while Lor'themar is convinced by Thalyssra's reasoning that differences can be put aside for a greater good.
However, we are ambushed at Nazjatar by Azshara, who presents a vision of the world where N'Zoth breaks free of his prison. Azshara sees all of Nazjatar, knowing every conversation which takes place, so she frequently interjects herself into conversations and taunts us.
After the ambush at Nazjatar, due in part to Azshara's control of the Tidestone of Golganneth, Shandris Feathermoon and Thalyssra work together to fight back against Azshara. We follow them as players while Jaina and Lor'themar fight the naga. As part of the campaign, we also interact with the ghost of Zin-Azshari, a poignant place for both Shandris and Thalyssra.
Lady Ashvane, in a deal with Azshara all along, is transformed into a grotesque sea giant in front of everyone. We'll encounter her again, in her sea giant form, in the Azshara's Eternal Palace raid.
Azshara jeers at us throughout the raid, revealing her master plan before we face her:
Azshara: You see the truth now, don't you, heroes? Every move you've made has been according to my will.
Azshara: That lumbering dwarf believed you could save Azeroth by empowering your shiny little Heart. The gift of a sleeping titan.
Azshara: Yes, a titan's heart was exactly what was needed. Not to heal the world... but to shatter the prison of a god.
Azshara: The ritual nears completion. The Black Empire rises... and the world awaits its true queen.
Jaina: There will be no coronation this day.
At the end, Lor'themar pledges to stand with Saurfang and Thrall, as divided, we have no chance against N'Zoth. While we don't know the exact outcome of the Azshara fight, it's looking grim as he notes "Our victory rings hollow. Azshara's master will rise."
Preparing a Truce
Genn:
Champion, Spymaster Shaw informs me that the Horde's remaining ships are preparing to depart from Zuldazar.
We will vastly outnumber them on the open water. Let us seize this opportunity and end this war once and for all!
Our fleet is ready to set sail. Report to Boralus and meet me upon the Wind's Redemption with all haste!
Nathanos:
Champion, the Dark Lady demands your presence. She has devised a plan to finally put an end to this ridiculous conflict.
Our fleet has already begun mobilizing. Soon we will meet the Alliance armies at sea and crush their leaders beneath the Warchief's might.
Find me at the docks. We will bring swift victory... for the Horde.
Thalyssra convinces Lor'themar to put differences with the Alliance aside to fight Azshara:
Lor'themar: Proudmoore and Shaw risked their lives to rescue Baine? Unexpected.
Thalyssra: That animosity only benefits Azshara. Her power is considerable. Divided, we are no match for her--or the master she serves.
Lor'themar: Cooperation between our sides has been the exception, not the rule. More often, we are at each other's throats.
Thalyssra: Is it? Not long ago, Alliance and Horde fought together to liberate Suramar from the Legion.
Lor'themar: Sylvanas has the loyalty of the people. So long as she is warchief, this war will rage within their hearts. We cannot stop it.
Thalyssra: Perhaps we do not need to. It might be enough to direct our attacks against Azshara rather than the Alliance.
Lor'themar: That plan would infuriate Blightcaller... which makes me like it all the more. Hmm... "It stops when you turn from one another and walk away..."
Thalyssra: Yes. We also have a history of setting differences aside to fight greater foes.
Lor'themar: A lesson once taught to Jaina Proudmoore and me. Your counsel is wise, Thalyssra. Our focus must be on ending Azshara's reign.
Thalyssra: A truce then? We fight Azshara here, not one another.
Lor'themar: But if the Alliance undermines our efforts, the flames of war will rise again.
Jaina explains to Shandris Feathermoon why she wants to work with the Horde to fight Azshara. However, she still wants justice for Teldrassil:
Genn: Good to have you back, Jaina. Why did King Anduin summon you?
Jaina: Sylvanas ordered the execution of Baine Bloodhoof. Anduin sent us into Orgrimmar to rescue him.
Genn: You risked your lives to save a leader of the Horde?!
Jaina: After what he did for Derek, I felt I owed him a debt. We received some unexpected help from Saurfang... and Thrall.
Shandris: You were fortunate that you were not betrayed. Presenting your heads might have regained their warchief's favor.
Jaina: We had a common enemy. Sylvanas wanted us at each other's throats. Perhaps that's what Azshara wants, too.
Genn: Hold on... Are you suggesting we lay down our arms and fight beside them? After all they've done?!
Jaina: No. Merely that we direct our efforts against Azshara instead of the Horde. That could buy time for Saurfang's rebellion to take root.
Jaina: There must be vengeance for Teldrassil. But if Azshara is not stopped, she will unleash her master upon the world.
Genn: Very well. We will focus on defeating the naga queen. But if the Horde turns against us, they will answer for it.
Nathanos is unaware that Lor'themar and Thalyssra want to work with the Alliance:
Saurfang, Thrall, the Alliance... it is vexing to know our quarry escaped. But we must trust in the warchief's plan.
Soon your loyalty will face an even greater test. I do hope you prove worthy of the Dark Lady's favor.
I have been recalled to Orgrimmar. Remain in Nazjatar. Keep playing along with these traitorous vipers... until you are summoned.
Transformation of Ashvane
During the initial confrontation, Queen Azshara transforms Lady Ashvane into a sea giant.
We start our invasion by fighting Naga and trying to face Azshara directly, with the help of Shandris and Thalyssra:
The naga have been repelled for now, but more are sure to come.
We can keep the brunt of her forces engaged here while our champions pursue Azshara.
Shandris, Thalyssra, you know better than anyone what Azshara is capable of.
Go with our champions. Help them find her.
Good luck... to all of us.
It is good you survived. I would hate for our gathering to end prematurely.
Enough of these games, Azshara. Face us!
Patience, little one. We will be together soon enough.
A dark presence lurks within this palace, twisting everything it touches.
We then find Lady Ashvane, who recognizes us. We try to disable Ashvane's protective magic:
Ashvane: We had a deal, Azshara! Give me the power you promised!
Azshara: Oh, I intend to. I merely wanted our guests to bear witness to your glorious ascension.
Ashvane: You... the ones who thwarted my plans in Boralus. But no matter. A new path now lies before me.
Ashvane means to hold us at bay. But I can sense fonts of magic close by that are feeding into this room.
If we disrupt the flow of those channels, Ashvane's barrier will fall.
Strike that monstrosity down, champions! We must stop the flow of energy from this chamber!
The magic source is nearby, but proceed carefully.
Azshara will not have left it unguarded.
Well done! Now to find the last font and destroy it.
The sooner we do so, the better our chances of foiling Azshara's mad scheme.
The barrier has fallen! Let us see how brave Ashvane is without a magical shield to protect her.
Ashvane: Alliance... Horde... fools, every one! Fighting each other, blind to the true powers at play. But you'll learn soon enough.
When it seems we're on the verge of defeating Lady Ashvane, Azshara helps in an unexpected way:
Ashvane: You cannot leave me here to die! We had a deal!
Azshara: Contain yourself, human. Show faith in your queen.
Azshara: I would not let them take you. Not before you have fulfilled your destiny.
Ashvane: No! Not like this! What are you doing to me?!
Azshara: You asked to be powerful, Priscilla. Consider our bargain complete.
After the transformation:
How long I've waited for that.
Is this true power?
Is this true power?
Puppets... fools. The Banshee baited you... to your own slaughter.
Gave Azshara... what she wanted. N'Zoth will rise... his madness... comes...
Shandris realizes we may have been set up:
Ashvane spoke with a serpent's tongue, but... could she be right? Were we lured to Nazjatar as part of some dark bargain?
Vision of N'Zoth
As we continue to fight the naga, Azshara shows up to watch our progress:
Ah, good. You arrived just in time to welcome these little ones into my service.
We cannot allow these creatures to hatch. They will overrun the surface!
I should be cross over your brutal attacks upon my underlings, but... I must admit, you provide splendid entertainment.
Perhaps he was right after all. You do show great potential.
Enough games, Azshara! This shall be the final day of your twisted reign!
You show such heart! Preparations are nearly complete. I await your arrival below.
We finally confront Azshara:
Azshara: You caught me off guard. Fair enough. But you are as trapped here as I. This need not be the end... for any of us.
Thalyssra: Stars save us... Azshara is drawing upon the Heart of Azeroth! Feeding its energies into her ritual!
Shandris: Champions, stop her!
Thalyssra: Do not relax your guard. Something here is... stirring.
Lor'themar: Can you get us to safety?
Thalyssra: She is... preventing teleportation...
Genn: Jaina... we need a way out!
Jaina: She's... blocking teleportation...
Azshara: Such delicious irony... the diamond king has been made a pawn.
Azshara: I will hold the waters at bay... so long as I remain entertained.
We're then controlled by Azshara as we watch a vision of N'Zoth rising:
Thalyssra: There is... a presence here. Tendrils strangling my mind...
Herald of N'Zoth: The locks weaken. The world screams.
Herald of N'Zoth: N'Zoth rises once more.
Shandris: Out there... titan pillars. And chains descending into darkness...
Thalyssra: Azshara wants us to see this. Why? Surely she knows we would never let that monster free!
Shandris: There is no time to warn the others! We must end this, champions... now!
Azshara: Nicely done! It is so rare for mortals to exceed my expectations. If only your friends had been as capable.
Azshara: That human novice, and the pale elf with the sword. Ah well... acceptable losses.
Shandris: Liar!
Azshara: Now is that any way to repay me for my generosity? For the privilege I have seen fit to grant you?
Azshara: Come, heroes. Prove yourselves worthy. Find me... in the circle of stars.
Meeting the Ankoan
Over here.
There is a source of great power up ahead.
Another naga ambush!
No. I am Okani, Blademaster of the ankoans.
We share a common foe. Come, we will guide you to safety.
And why would we trust you?
A people called the jinyu aided the Alliance in Pandaria. Are they your kin?
Our clan hunts the deep oceans. We left the land behind long ago.
We are departing for our shelter in the reef. Come, or do not. But decide quickly.
It could be a trap. What say you, Jaina?
They seem to be our best chance. My instincts tell me to trust them--at least for now.
Very well. Okani, we will come with you.
This way. My people will harry the enemy while we work our way past the main army.
You have found safe haven here?
Nowhere in this place is safe. She is always watching.
"She"? Whom do you speak of?
Do you truly not know whose kingdom this is, landwalker?
Azshara. Perhaps the most powerful sorceress that has ever lived.
You could not have stumbled upon this place by accident. She wanted you here.
My clan holds this ground. Your people are welcome here, so long as you respect our ways.
Restoration Shaman
Shaman that have acquired
莎拉达尔,潮汐权杖
get a special dialogue:
Is that Sharas'dal you hold? Impudent mortal! You dare to wield my own scepter against me?!
Exploring Nazjatar
As we explore Nazjatar, Azshara knows everything we're doing, and interjects our conversations at random moments:
Ah, good. Our guests have arrived.
Behold the wonders of Nazjatar. The finest sight your eyes will ever behold... and the last.
Please, do stay. Explore all the comforts my kingdom has to offer.
Exploring my kingdom, I see. I almost envy you... beholding such grandeur for the first time must be inspiring indeed.
Do you think you take a single footstep in the heart of my empire without my knowledge? You only exist here because I allow it to be ests to the palace. Do not keep me waiting.
This is my realm, child. Not so much as a single spell can be cast in Nazjatar without my knowledge.
Zin-Azshari is wondrous to behold, but do be careful. It would be a pity for you to suffer harm before I can grant you a proper audience.
Azshara's forces:
Azshara's forces hold dominion over all of Nazjatar.
The Azsh'ari are vile summoners, calling upon the tides to do their bidding.
Those who wield the dark magic of the void call themselves the Shirakess.
But the Zanj'ir are the ones who pose the gravest threat.
Something powerful lies hidden within their military stronghold.
Thalyssra reminisces about her time spent before the Sundering:
Thalyssra: Azshara. Even before her transformation, she had a way of bending subjects to her desires.
Thalyssra: When last I was here, I was only a child. These ruins were impossibly tall buildings and these people were still alive. Azshara has much to answer for.
Thalyssra: There are those of us in Suramar who still remember the days when we shared a kinship with the people of this city. Now we face their restless ghosts. Azshara will pay for this.
Thalyssra: I never expected to set eyes upon this city again.
Thalyssra: Azshara. She sacrificed her people twice over. Once to the Legion. The second time to N'Zoth.
Azshara: My sweet child. As a general, you should be familiar with sacrifice. A leader must ever serve the greater good.
Thalyssra: "Good"?! What "good" is there in offering up your people to an Old God? In seeing them transformed into monsters?
Azshara: Such a pity. It seems you do not yet understand. Not to worry. Very soon, you will.
Thalyssra: I tire of her toying with us. Come. We must push deeper into Zin-Azshari.
Thalyssra: Stay vigilant, champions! Azshara conceals schemes within schemes. She wants something...
Azshara: You've only just come to this realization? "First Arcanist" indeed!
We are able to set up communication back to our capital cities:
Zin-Azshari was once the capital of the night elves' empire.
These buildings have existed for millennia. We are fortunate, as this means there are ancient mechanisms that allow for stable portals.
Ah, here it is.
Queen Azshara might block my spells when she is here, but these devices allow us to overcome that.
And now we have a link to Boralus. Take my message to Halford Wyrmbane.
Thalyssra: Once we reestablish the network, I should be able to communicate with you through these devices, champion.
Azshara: How quaint of you to restore these remnants of a simpler age.
Thalyssra: Azshara! She has found us.
Azshara: I know who you are, rude little Thalyssra. You presume to refer to yourself as "First Arcanist"? How... ambitious.
Thalyssra: I am First Arcanist Thalyssra of Suramar, and you are not my queen!
We should move on, $n. Azshara's preening must not distract us from our goal.
Azshara throws shade at Tyrande's Night Warrior ritual:
Azshara: Thalyssra. So the Horde sends its sorceress to plunder the treasures of Zin-Azshari--and seize the Tidestone for your warchief, no doubt.
Azshara: Would you entrust it to Tyrande? Perhaps she needs it to invoke yet another forbidden ritual.
Azshara: It breaks a queen's heart to watch her subjects squabble. Such a futile argument. In the end, you will all be mine again--one way or another.
Thalyssra: Though our kingdoms stand divided, we share contempt for you, Azshara.
Azshara: You see? We have found common ground already. Dear children, it is only a matter of time until you kneel before my throne. As a willing subject... or a broken corpse.
Jaina: So long as Azshara controls the Tidestone, she has the advantage over us.
Thalyssra: Its power should be turned against her--not against each other.
Jaina: Agreed. Perhaps these ruins hold the key to striking down our common foe.
Chief Engineer Oculeth is impressed by the water physics of Nazjatar:
Nazjatar... I thought I would never see it again.
The water manipulation here is staggering. I suppose it makes sense, considering they have been swimming down here for so long. I wonder if I could use telemancy to perpetually remove water from a location to replicate the effect....
Azshara is the most powerful sorceress to have ever lived. Do not think for a moment that you are safe or have the upper hand.
Perhaps when this is done I shall visit Zin-Azshari. I used to have a workshop over there, back before... you know.
<Oculeth makes a vague gesture.>
...Everything.
Jaina and Lor'themar's uneasy truce continues:
Their champion carries the Javelin of Suramar. We might as well listen to what they have to say.
First Arcanist, there is little our troops will be able to do against the guardian. We shall assault the nearby naga camp to buy you the time you need.
Jaina, our troops stand no chance against the Tidestone's guardian. Lor'themar and I will deal with the rest of the naga while you confront her.
Our champion bears the javelin, but we must make sure it will strike true. First Arcanist, if you can shield me while I attack we stand a better chance of succeeding.
Very well. Lady Proudmoore, you and I should be enough to distract the guardian long enough for our champion to breach her defenses. We stand a better chance working together.
Your plan does have merit. Let us be done with this quickly.
Very well. We do face a formidable opponent.
Be warned that if I catch even the scent of treachery, I will tear you to shreds.
A sound plan. But if you dare double cross us, you will not escape retribution.
Azshara welcomes us to her palace:
Lor'themar: The Horde's champions will drive every last naga from the palace. Azshara will pay for what she's done.
Jaina: Alliance heroes will dethrone the would-be queen. We won't seek a fight with you, Lor'themar, but we will not abide interference.
Azshara: What have we here? Bitter rivals standing united around my Tidestone. I really do possess a gift for bringing my subjects together.
Jaina: You can't stop us, Azshara. We are coming to end your reign.
Azshara: Stop you? My dear child, why would I want to stop you?
Azshara: Consider this a formal invitation. My palace has been made ready. Your presence is eagerly anticipated.
Azshara: So many wonders lie in store. Such... magnificence.
Zin-Azshari and Sundering Flashbacks
It appears we go back in time to witness the glory of Azshara's empire, interacting with ghosts and reliving the collapse of the city, as depicted at the start of
Warbringers: Azshara
.
Greetings. What brings you to our glorious city?
I keep hearing rumors about the Queen's next event.
I don't know why, but something seems off today.
The coral in this area is growing quite beautifully.
I wondered if you knew anything about magical artifacts here in Zin'Azshari.
Are there any Handmaidens of Azshara nearby?
Are you aware you're dead?
What a beautiful city. How long have you lived here?
Zin-Azshari is the home of many noble estates, most of whom collect objects of great power. Only after our Queen has no use for them of course.
The Handmaidens serve their Queen at the Temple of Elun'ador.
I have lived here my entire life. I am proud to be Highborne.
Queen Azshara will not come for you.
She has already abandoned you and the city.
You died in the Sundering. You are all spirits.
Queen Azshara serves only herself and her old god master.
No! You are mistaken. Our Queen will save us.
You lie!
Queen Azshara will do what she must to save her people. She must have her reasons.
Our Queen will save us! Do not lose faith!
There's no way out. I think we are going to die here.
That wave... the city must be destroyed.
She won't come for us. She betrayed us.
The Well is gone. We are all dead now.
The water... it's coming in. They can't hold it out forever.
In this set of flashbacks, we also learn about the importance of the Tidestone, which controls the seas, as well as the Javelins of Suramar--key to getting into Azshara's Eternal Palace.
Welcome, stranger. What brings you to Zin-Azshari?
What new marvels will our queen show us next, I wonder?
Our empire will rule eternally. Gaze upon our mighty works! Are they not beautiful?
It has been some time since the last council meeting. I wonder what is keeping them so busy.
Glory to Azshara, stranger. Have you come to seek an audience with our queen?
You dare question our queen? You must die!
I am no traitor. For Azshara!
A spy in our midst! Guards!
Well fought! Would you mind if we took a closer look at the troops here?
The Tidestone? Truly a potent relic, capable of controlling the seas. It is capable of producing a powerful barrier that only the strongest of our magic can pierce. If you would like to study it, you may appeal to the scholars of Nar'thalas Academy, where it is located.
What do you know of the Tidestone?
What is the strongest magic left in Zin-Azshari?
Our glorious queen is the most powerful sorceress to have ever lived. There is nothing she cannot accomplish! Why, the Javelins alone could pierce nearly any ward, maybe even one she made. It is a good thing they are in her position then, is it not?
What do you know of the Javelins?
Ah yes, they are quite the sight! A gift from our sister city, they possess power worthy to be bestowed to our queen. Nevertheless, she has no need for such paltry items. I believe she has bestowed them on Lady Silaszi, one of her current favored handmaidens.
Searching for Loved Ones
As part of the flashbacks, Shandris and Thalyssra confront ghosts in their pasts--Shandris' brother Janius and Thalyssra's greatest pupil Sivara, now the first boss of Azshara's Eternal Palace.
Shandris' ghost:
Have you seen Janius Feathermoon?
"Feathermoon? Oh yeah!
Nice merchant. He never told on me when he would catch me stealing from his cart. Said he was from a small town like Ara... Ara-something.
He said he was going to try to see the Queen. Didn't you hear? Queen Azshara is right down the street! Maybe I'll get to see her if I get away from these nasty guards."
Janius? My little brother? He made it here. Oh, he made it here.
I... I knew many of these people. It was so long ago, and I was so young.
Where is Janius? Where is my beloved nephew?
Janius! We should have fled this city long ago...
Where is Janius? What have you done with him?!
He is just a boy. Please, take Janius away from this madness before it is too late.
Thalyssra's ghost:
Wait... I sense a familiar force. The magic of a pupil I trained long ago.
Sivara? My greatest student. It was with my recommendation that she transferred to the Royal Academy.
Have you seen Arcanist Sivara?
"You know Arcanist Sivara? I just saw her! She has such pretty hair.
I heard she was trained by First Arcanist Thalyssra. She is super fancy.
Anyway, I saw Arcanist Sivara walk by just a few minutes ago. I think she is going to see the Queen. Didn't you hear? Queen Azshara is right down the street! Maybe I'll get to see her if I get away from these nasty guards."
Sivara! No! You chose to serve Azshara?!
Your ambitions cost the people of Zin-Azshari their lives! For this? To earn the favor of your dark master?
Where is Sivara? The city is falling!
Sivara, my love! We should have fled this city together!
Thalyssra! Vile witch! You were the one who convinced my sister to serve at the palace.
Sivara... never... should... have listened to... you... Thalyssra.
Tidestone of Golganneth
Azshara used the Tidestone of Golganneth to carry out her trap, and now we try to take it back:
Azshara: They seek the tidestone... but I will not leave it unguarded as they so foolishly did.
The Tidestone of Golganneth! That must be how she was able to part the sea!
The naga incursions must have been a distraction. But if the Tidestone can manipulate that much water, we are all in grave danger. She could flood Nazjatar in an instant.
We cannot allow that to happen. We must find a way to break the barrier and secure the Tidestone.
But why lure us here? Why not simply drown us and be done with it?
Obtaining the tidestone must be our top priority, but we cannot press further into Azshara's realm without first knowing what we're up against.
We work together to harness the power of the Tidestone to open a way into her palace:
Lor'themar: Azshara's forces are routed. We have broken her hold on the Tidestone.
Jaina: That maelstrom still blocks our path into her palace.
Thalyssra: The Tidestone's power could be used to quell the storm...
Thalyssra: But I can't control its energies on my own.
Jaina: Perhaps we could... together.
Thalyssra: It is done. The way is open.
Jaina: Then let us ready our forces. Azshara's reign must end.
Azshara: I must say, that was a delightfully dramatic entrance.
Azshara: Welcome to my Eternal Palace, honored guests. Our festivities can finally commence.
Azshara: I fear there are a few final details that require my attention. Until I return, my servants will keep you... entertained.
Azshara in her Palace
As we progress through boss encounters, Azshara does not seem terribly concerned with our progress and treats us as entertainment.
My servants are so eager to meet our guests. I do hope you enjoy their... attentions.
My subjects seldom face a true challenge. You will try to provide them with one, won't you?
Perhaps your continued survival has made you complacent. A test of your resilience is in order.
My subjects seek to earn my favor by collecting your head. Who am I to refuse their loyalty?
You seem restless, landwalker. Allow your queen to provide some entertainment.
Entertain your queen.
Such a disappointing performance from that underling. I must be sure to arrange a more suitable challenge for you.
What a shame... I was fond of that one. You will, of course, answer for your insolence.
Such perseverance! A noble trait... that will be bent to serve my will.
This changes nothing. You will kneel, and I will rule.
Ah, thank you. By culling weakness from my ranks, you only make my kingdom stronger.
Ah, thank you. By culling weakness from my ranks, you only make my kingdom stronger.
Surely you must realize the futility of resisting me. For each minion you dispatch, two more take its place.
You refusal to bend the knee offends my loyal subjects. This one wishes to teach you proper respect.
One of my champions seeks to earn glory in my name. It would be cruel of me to deny them this opportunity.
This should be an entertaining test of skill. My chosen champion against... you.
What have we here? A champion of Nazjatar versus a defiant outsider. High drama indeed.
An impressive display of heroism. Perhaps you will prove worthy of serving me after all.
Another victory... interesting. One day, I may allow you to serve as my champion.
Such a devoted servant. So willing to die in my name... and so many others eager to take their place.
Savor this small victory. It may lessen the bitterness of your inevitable defeat.
Ah, just in time. This event is being held for your benefit, after all. It will teach you the price for defying me.
Come, my loyal servants, greet our guests. After all, they traveled such a long way to pay us a visit.
Do you still fail to comprehend the power I wield? Perhaps a demonstration is in order.
The chosen of Nazjatar answer to me. Behold!
Barely a challenge so far. Time to raise the stakes.
You have proven entertaining so far. Now it is time for the real show to begin.
Let's make this a bit more interesting.
So this is how you repay my hospitality? I will remember this slight.
A hollow victory. You faced a mere inkling of my power.
Enjoy your respite, heroes. It will not last long.
You try my patience, outsiders. Murdering my handmaiden and plundering my city's treasures... Such insolence will have consequences.
That relic you stole will not save you. You cannot hope to stop what is coming. No one can.
But go on. Scurry back to my palace. You will soon learn proper respect for your queen.
Defeating a mere herald means nothing. N'Zoth's visions are growing stronger... more tangible. There is so much he wants you to see.
The bargain was struck on MY terms, and through it, my loyal followers embraced a grand destiny. You cannot see the truth yet, but you will. Oh, how you will!
You've grown complacent. Allow me to liven the field.
I know your dreams... your lust for power. The hunger with which you pursue your desires.
Kneel before me and I will bestow talents beyond your wildest imagination.
Azshara Encounter
Before the encounter:
Azshara: You see the truth now, don't you, heroes? Every move you've made has been according to my will.
Azshara: That lumbering dwarf believed you could save Azeroth by empowering your shiny little Heart. The gift of a sleeping titan.
Azshara: Yes, a titan's heart was exactly what was needed. Not to heal the world... but to shatter the prison of a god.
Azshara: The ritual nears completion. The Black Empire rises... and the world awaits its true queen.
Jaina: There will be no coronation this day.
Wiping:
Kneel before your queen!
How disappointing!
Unworthy of greatness!
He was wrong. You have proven yourselves unworthy.
Encounter lines:
How can you win, if you stand divided?
Guard your purity, heroes!
Another heart soon to be broken!
The wards bend to my will.
Crystalline protection!
Refuse... and be crushed beneath the tides. Choose your fate.
There is no power I cannot defile!
Arcane destruction!
The merest taste of my power!
Gaze upon my beauty, and despair!
N'Zoth! Let your wrath fall upon them!
Corrupted hearts, heed my call!
The wards obey my command!
Devoted blood, spilled freely upon the sand.
Lovers' hearts, split asunder.
The song of the deep rings, to call him forth!
It is unclear if this dialogue also takes place during the encounter:
Jaina: Thalyssra, aid me! Together we can hold her here!
Thalyssra: Now you will know what it means to be trapped, Azshara!
Azshara: Azshara: I am Azshara! I was destined to rule! No force can bind me!
Shandris: Once again your empire crumbles, Azshara. Your master will be disappointed by this failure.
Jaina: She wanted us divided. Fighting each other kept us distracted from the true threat.
Lor'themar: Azshara wasn't the only one manipulating us. I should have seen it sooner.
Lor'themar in the Aftermath
After the battle, Lor'themar and Jaina reach an agreement--the war must end, and it will not end as long as Sylvanas is on the throne. Lor'themar will stand with Saurfang and Thrall.
Lor'themar: Our victory rings hollow. Azshara's master will rise. Nothing can stop that now.
Jaina: For all her lies, Priscilla Ashvane spoke one truth. The war between the Alliance and Horde has kept us distracted. Divided, we have no hope against N'Zoth.
Lor'themar: We may have found common cause here in Nazjatar, but the battle still rages beyond these waters. So long as Sylvanas holds Orgrimmar, there can be no lasting peace.
Jaina: The war needs to end, Lor'themar. You know this to be true.
Lor'themar: I had hoped that reason would prevail. But the time has come to finish this.
Lor'themar: I will tell my people what transpired here. Of how Azshara fell because we stood together. Of the threat rising from the depths, and all that is at stake if we should fail.
Lor'themar: Then I will take my place beside Saurfang and Thrall, and pray that the sin'dorei stand with me.
