This will also be very nice for any clothy during the first PvP season i guess. 550 armor is quite a bit, and the use can be quite nice too.

Druids will be very excited about this trinket considering we get 5.5x armor bonus (assuming
Thick Hide
), and there is no "extra armor" to be had on Leather anymore.
If you macro it with
Survival Instincts
you'd get an extra 907 on the temporary heal, plus you'd want to use both effects in the same circumstances anyway. Downside: SI has a 5 min CD.

"Stupidly overpowered"? I'll tell you what is "stupidly overpowered" - The fact that almost all tanking offpieces (rings, cloaks, trinkets) have defense. What do Druids get from Defense? Dodge. What do Warriors and Paladins get from Defense? Dodge, Parry, Block. And you bitch about Armor being OP?
It wasn't bad enough that Blizzard @#$%ed over Druid itemization (for uncritability) through BC. They finally fix it, then they start with the retarded changes.
You can say what you like about our "OP" armor, but point blank what is "stupid" is the fact that similarly geared Feral Druids and Warriors/Paladins now have around the same amount of armor. Our armor took a massive (at least 10k hit) from when 3.0 hit, and mitigation wise, it's still stuck at the same place it was back at 70 after 3.0 hit (this would assume that at the time you were in T6). On top of that, Warriors/Paladins also have just as much health, and more avoidance.
So, in short, you're complaining about ONE STAT being better for Feral Druids, when other tanks get stats that we CANT' EVEN USE. Grats on showing that you know jack about the Druid class and it's itemization.
I spose you were also a fan of them screwing over our armor bonus modifyer, taking out the green armor mod, and the new up coming change to Feral weapons (because it wasn't bad enough that we already share a token with 3 other classes, and usually get gear secondary to rogues and other tanks).
If you'd ever ran anything other than Karazhan pre-WotLK and non-Heroics in WotLK you'd see that there was never an issue with Druid mitigation pre 3.0, and that now post-3.0 there is certainly no reason to further decrease our armor.

Just so you know, the % displayed on your screen is for level 80 mobs, not level 83 mobs. Armor cap at 70 was 35,880, but even with around 31,500 (give or take a few numbers) it displayed as you having 75% mitigation because that was the cap -for level 70 mobs- which fine and dandy, but is completely irrelevant when it comes to bosses.
I'm wearing Full T6 with Sunwell pieces. Yes, some of the new blues have a bit more armor on them, but I am still 10% off of level 80 armor cap, there is no way in hell you were actually armor capped or even close to it.

Druids have the 'best mitigation, highest effective health, and most avoidance from day 1 beta till now' oh, really? I sincerely hope you're referring not referring to the original Beta. Feral Druids were a complete joke Pre-BC, no point in arguing that.
Secondly, just taking your comment as is, and not applying a time frame to it, it is still wrong. Sure, pre 3.0 we had the highest mitigation. We did not however, have the highest effective health AND the highest avoidance, or either, to be honest. Back in blues (aka right when people started Kara) yes, we had a good bit of health on Warriors, just as I currently out health the warriors in my guild...but once the T4+ gear started coming in, the health difference evened out.
The fact of the matter is that Warriors and Paladins can have decent avoidance without gimping their health. Hence their straight Stamina gemming. If a Druid were to gem straight Stam, sure they'd probably have more health, but their dodge would be in the @#$%ter. Even more so, Dodge isn't all it's made out to be, you try being completely rageless because your dodge doesn't return rage (this is referring to Pre-3.0). Most Druids took a gearing route that left them in the middle with dodge, around 50-60% with buffs and a sizeable health pool. I personally recall the Warriors I was in Sunwell with having at least 50% avoidance from parry/dodge and then blocks on top of that. So your perception of 'most avoidance' is HORRIBLY flawed.
Fastfowarding to 3.0, who gives a @#$% if I have more health or mitigation (which I won't after 3.1) than a Warrior/Paladin if he barely gets hit and I constantly get smacked for 5k+. That's exactly how it is. Every single healer I've ran with makes the comment that I'm a pain in the ass to heal compared to a Warrior/Paladin.
The comment you're making about defense cap is extremely ignorant.
The whole uncrittable through talents thing was long over due. You can say what you like, but point blank, untill a Druid was in BT and got ahold of the trinket off of Bloodboil (which is the only defense trinket that was not a complete PoS for us) they were forced to gem or enchant Defense or Resilience and/or waste a trinket slot on a Defense trinket which was a complete waste of a trinket slot due to the fact that we only benefit from 1/3 of the stats that Defense provides.
If a full T5+ Warrior/Paladin ever HAD to gem/enchant Defense or HAD to use a Defense trinket to be uncrittable, I garuntee you there would have been some bitching. And it's not like Druids didn't usually get second priority on said Defense gear.
That is not a massive advantage it's called "We don't have defense on our &*!@ing gear" oh and "Blizzard &*!@ed our armor over, so now we only wear rogue gear with a bit higher stam". You try getting 5.6% or even 2.6% (like it was 3.0) through rings, a cloak, a neck, and enchants (because wasting a trinket/gem slot for a straight Defense item should not be necessary) and see how much of a pain that is. Especially when all of those enchant slots have much more benefical things that could go there. Again, at least Warriors/Paladins benefit from all the stats Defense gives.

I didn't quote all of your post as it seemed to dwell on the past reliance of defense to be uncrittable as a Druid but not getting much benefit other than that from the very expensive stat. I understand that it is bullcrap, but let's focus on what we have now. Druids don't need defense. It's over. Long over due as you said, but it's real now.
Now you can gem for dodge and stamina. You still get high stamina multipliers compared to the three plate tanks.
Now, onto the two paragraphs I quoted. This trinket is very useful for Death Knights due to
Toughness
and
Frost Presence
. It comes out to be, with 2% armor metagem, about two times the armor from the trinket. Yeah, it's not much, and no Death Knight is going to purposely go for straight armor mitigation, but it does help and the mini-Last Stand appends to a DK's arsenal of activated tanking cooldowns.
Plate tanks have to gear so hard for defense at 80 it isn't even funny. Blues are better than epics because going to epic items drops your defense under cap in favor of raw avoidance ratings, expertise, hit rating, and strength. People gem for defense just to maintain the cap.

Naxrramus is an entry level 80 instance. It was the same way with Kara and BC raids when they first came out, pre instance zerg fest nerf. In 6 months tanks will be hitting 580 defense anyway, deal with it.

If you are playing a warrior, this is a nice item to macro together with
Enraged Regeneration
. It will heal an additional 907 health over 10 seconds then.
/cast Enranged Regeneration
/cast Offering of Sacrifice
Throw in
Last Stand
with all of that and you get another 30% on top of that (cannot be macroed together due to GCD), letting this trinket alone add up to 1180 healing over 10 seconds to your Enranged Regeneration spell.

Considering the changes to druids in 3.0.8. this will only add 550 armour, that's 3,2 -3.4% dmg mitigation, physical at level 80.Decent trinket.Another choice for tanks is
Essence of Gossamer
from azjol nerub heroic mode, second boss.it provides a proc for dmg reduction and the +111 stamina makes it worth the while (especially for druid taks wich will get 1770 Hp from it in dire bear form) and the one bought with emblems of heroism

Adalianar, I just tested using Frost Presence, equiped the trinket checked armor and then I removed the trinket and checked armor again. This trinket does not get any armor buff from Frost Presence, it stays at 550 armor.

so i got my first post purged -- that's a kick in the teeth, t'be sure..
spose it kinda deserved it though: my argument was unclear and superfluous
linking was a poor way to support the argument. so, i shall make a second attempt.
this trinket,
in particular it's use effect
, should perk the interest of any blood DK out there
who is fond of his/her extensive survival utility and wishes to enhance it. most of the
abilities which i linked in the purged post benefit from or enhance the max-health gain,
and i will dare to presume that by the sheer number and weight of these benefits, this
trinket has the
greatest healing potential in the hands of a death knight
. similar and more
powerful trinkets such as the aforementioned battlemaster trinket therefore ought as
well to draw the eye of survivalist DKs.
if a theorycrafter has numbers to disprove this untested presumption, i'm of course quite willing
to withdraw my statement..
Aside: i can't help but notice that the trinket's icon, while undeniably paladin-esque, is also
rather Blood-esque

Feral druid here.
I tested this item and all I can say is: This is just a piece of junk !
It would be a cool item IF there was still the armor bonus for trinkets in bear form. But there is no bonus and so no noticeable dmg reduction. You could also use scrolls to buff yourself with something similar but who's crazy enough to do that ? No one. So all this item gives you is a nice hp boost for a short period of time.
If you can you should try to grab
Badge of Tenacity
. It has some armor too but is generally better because it temporarily grants +150 agility which means: +evasion, +crit (keeps shield up) => Nice 'Oh Shít!' combo.
Later you could upgrade to badge items. If you're looking for the hp boost you might want to take a look at the
Battlemaster Items
.
Offering of Sacrifice vs Badge of Tenacity:
3min CD | 2min CD
3025 HP | 150 Agi (gets boosted with buffs & talents)
lasts 15s | lasts 20s

Got this on my druid tank today and did some testing. Decent trinket I think. Notice the wording says "increases your maximum health...". Notice the druid talent:
Survival Instincts
When activated, this ability temporarily grants you 30% of your maximum health for 20 sec while in Bear Form, Cat Form, or Dire Bear Form
.
I also have the glyph that adds another 15% onto that. If you use this trinket BEFORE you use Survival Instincts it gets multiplied into "your total health". If you use this trinket AFTER you use Survival Instincts then you just get the 3025 health.
On my druid:
Max health in Bear 28537
Health with SI alone (with glyph) 41393
Health with Trinket alone 31562
Health with SI first, then Trinket 44418
Health with Trinket first, then SI 45779
So a bonus 1361 health on top of the 3025 it gives already for a total of 4386 bonus health. So I can temporarily increase my health by 60% for almost 15 seconds. In fact, this trinket has the same effect as the Major Glyph
Glyph of Survival Instincts
. Each are increasing my health by 15% when used together. More if my original health was lower.
Are there better trinkets available? Sure. But that doesn't make this one total trash. If you already have raiding trinkets then you won't need this. But for the gearing up process it's not a bad starter trinket.

So with 1 min cool down it would be 25% uptime.
Take 25/3 and you get 8,33333~
It has 8,33333% ~ uptime.
(3025/100)x8,33333=252,0833333~ hp
So this trinket give you about 252hp if you use it whenever the cool down goes off.
