a buddy of mine was attempting to sabotage the game he was in to get this score
he was doing fine till 1390/1380 but then it went to hell and he finished 2000/1970
i would suggest not aiming for this feat but getting it during the time it takes to get to exalted

I have 3 chars exalted with AB faction 1 horde 2 alliance, even 1 char has 14 rank and i can say its very rare to see that score, in whole my AB carrier i've seen it maybe 3-4 times, you can setup AB match with someone to get it but in random pug match it most likely luck based

My idea is a bit similar to that of khenra but ive come up with it on my own so here it is - suggest and correct if you see right ofcourse - its still a new idea ;)
The general idea consists of we rushing farm then 7-8 people with at least 2 healers going straight to LM the other 6-7 people with at least 3 healers (their goal is to not crush the allies so much as to not let them cap the bs and maintain our positions there) rush blacksmith and secure it so that neither team has the blacksmith the whole game - the game is dragged down to 2-2 nodes.
The LM team conists of a paladin with crusader aura and preferably 2 mages - the mages goal is to reach lm with the rest of the team then blink a bit forward and keep the allies there with frost novas/sheeps so that we get LM instantly after we are there
Now the tricky part:
Also we need 1-2 ppl (1dps 1healer preferably) to go gold mine and - this is very important - make sure the allies tag gold mine flag exactly between 12-18 seconds after our team has tagged LM (10 resourcers are given every 12seconds for 1 node controlled, 9sec for 2mines controlled which depending on the ticks may result in 2 ticks less for the allies and game being to 1980-2000 - thats why i take 12 sec incase the tick comes in when we got 1 node and 18 so that if we got 2 nodes before they got 2 we dont get 2 ticks more then them - we only need 1 tick more thus 12-18 seconds after we have tagged LM). That means that by /rw or vent we need to coordinate for how much time those 2 ppl at GM are going to keep the allies from tagging gm - they just need to ice lance/steady shot/whatever them for 12-18 sec after we have tagged LM (yes i know i repeat myself)
After that we just guard LM and BS and Farm and do not allow the allies tag any of those 3 nodes even for 1sec cause it will result in not completing the achievement. It all sounds pretty hard but we just need to control the fight for the first 1min then we just leech off 2-2 nodes with us received 1 tick more than the allies and so 2000-1990. Ofcourse %^&* happens and we may get a premade or all 15 allies being retarded and just zerging 1 node thus ruining it all but if the allies spread evenly across lm/bs/gm it should be ok

Realms where cross faction communication is common will easily obtain this achievement.. Simply have two groups (both willing to help the other) queue for the same AB. Upon entering the AB one faction caps three while the other caps two. Allow the opposing faction to set up a person at each of your nodes (or vice-versa) and attack the nodes as soon as the score hits 1990. Allow the nodes to cap and the five cap will results 1990-2000. Requeue and repeat for the opposite team to win. This defeats the purpose of recreating the epic game of AB which some of us have had the pleasure of enjoying once or twice in our WoW eras, but they'll happen again. This guide is for people who want the achievement.

I've won twice 2000-1980 and lost once 1990-2000 in many, many AB games so not sure if this one will ever happen for me. But I'll keep trying!

Was fortunate enough to land this achievement last night. It was one I was never going to "plan" on getting, and just hoped I'd dumb-luck my way into getting it. That's exactly what happened. I was on with two of my buddies, and we noticed that DBM said the Alliance would win within a minute and a half or so when the Horde had 1950, and we had 1940. I was like..."it say's were going to win, this is going to be super close to that achievement! Just hold the bases we got...please!" We held the bases, and caught them at 1980. We both dinged 1990 within a fraction of a second of each other...then we hit 2000, and got our achievement. It was really exciting!

I got this my first AB since 3.0 on my paladin last month. Didn't realize it was an achievement till I got it. Its pretty amusing now, seeing the achievement for winning an arathi basin, and this achievement within the same game.

I got this once and I don't ever want to get it again. It's even hard for a Premade to make happen, hard to exploit too (do it on purpose). In my opinion, should not be part of the Requirements for Battlemaster. Too rare, no skill, and proves nothing. Plus, as an Alliance, I hate AB too much to try for it.

I just got this in a 1990-0 game. Alliance 15 players, horde 4.
One horde rogue ran around tagging single bases while the 14 other alliance were farming the poor hordes at their spawn, while I recapped the bases. "Game ends in 15 seconds. Horde rogue has assaulted the farm." Game times out at 1990-0 and I got the achievement. Not quite the way I wanted it tho, but after ~300 AB games and 4 1990-2000 losses, anything will do really =P

I've got this on my main in one of the first AB battles I played with him. It was a pug, I have no idea why I went to a BG, I guess I got bored of lvling, was at any random level like 46 and for some unpredictable reason I got lucky and snatched this achievement... well... I'm deffinitely not complaining, good luck to whoever tries this o/...

i have a strong feeling that with the changes to AB in 3.2, this achievement may possibly be changed to something more achievable or completely removed. Either way, it is one of the most ridiculous and "unachievable" achievements in the game that comes purely down to dumb luck

Completed this tonight with a partial premade (10). Was the last one I needed for Battlemaster (Uthonidis - US Arygos).
We were able to hold it at 3 to 2 until we had ~1300 pts then allowed horde to take ST (since they were in the process of assaulting it at that time). We held onto BS and LM and did some quick math/guesswork as to how long we needed to let a node go neutral to get the right spread since the pugs had interrupted nodes earlier in the game. With under a minute to go and finally getting an accurate final score prediction from DBM, Horde was set to win. We rushed GM and turned it with 3 seconds to go (literally...3 seconds lol). Staring at the score hanging at 1990/1990 was the longest moment ever. Very glad to have gotten this done.
In all honesty, this isn't the hardest achievement in the world. The hardest part is convincing enough people that it can be manipulated easily enough to make forming a premade worthwile. I had come very close on several occasions before this with only 3 or 4 friends helping. With a full premade going after this specific goal, it would have been much easier.
Tips for those trying for this:
Cap 3 nodes until ~1250 then give one up and hold 2. Wait for all the nodes to come out of transition, get a final score from DBM and you'll have a good 10 minutes to make the minor adjustments you need to get the score you want. If you go over 1300 before you let horde take a 3rd node, you start pushing the boundary of being too far ahead to easily manipulate the final score. Good luck - it is well worth the heartache of all those 2k/1980 losses once you've finally gotten a little luck to swing it your way.

As of patch 3.2 it became a bit easier to achieve. Difference of 10 points left unchanged, but number of ticks needed to win was lowered. I reckon, chance to get this became higher by 25%.

Just got this done with 14-man premade. Went with 2-2 tactics, BS uncapped. Started the game with equal timings so we had to ninjacap Stables for a few secs just to pull that 10 points ahead. Everything worked fine until the 15th guy got a brain fart and capped BS. With bit of luck and superb timing we still pulled it off. On a first try, no less. But anyway, 2-2 tactics worked really well, no real trouble keeping BS. Our setup was 3 at LM, 2 Farm, 8 BS and 2 stealth guys waiting at the bottom of LM path to cross river or follow allies up the hill as needed. Or annihilate anyone foolish enough to ride alone. Since our main group was at BS, it was fast for some of them to rush to Farm/LM whenever allies managed to get a bigger group together.

they made this part of the battlemaster achievement(ive seen a couple of people complain) because they dont want to give you a title if you just coordinated it, they want to make sure that you have survived the "epic" battles. i got this on my warrior on a 20 something minite long battle with a 3vs2 base scenario throughout the whole battle i was really scared i would lose it when it was 1580vs 1590 with my alliance(my team) having 1580 and 3 bases, lucky me it ticked 1590 a second before my timer hit 1590 so i got the achievement. Lucky me=D

Background:
-440 AB done.
-One of the 1st people in the server that had everything for the "Battlemaster" but "we had it all along *cough".
-Every single achievements from Pugs.
Until yesterday i hated every single player that would come here and post that this achievement doesn't require luck and stuff like that. I decided to build up a premade for it, to see if actually you could get it without problems, "easy" as some people said in this and in the US thread.
Well after 2 games we managed to get it. Even after i got it, i still think that this achievement should be removed from the meta. You should be able to get them in PUGs. As you can see i didn't get it after 439 ABs, in my 100 wins i seen it 2 times happening but i was on the wrong side. 1 of these happened when i had 99 wins. /facepalm.
That said, to help whoever still needs it. Don't be an idiot like i was and keep trying in PUG, you need to have loads of rng on your side to get it(there is no luck involved in this game, its "rng"). Build up a premade, post a thread on your guild forum, server forum, ask friends etc. Loads of people should be interested, as long as you aren't in a new server.
We lost the 1st game cause we didn't mange to get "mine" in time and a PUG that managed to cap BS after we asked 10 times to don't cap BS. Anyway, we used the usual 2 base vs 3 tactic(keep switching till DBM shows you that you win 1600-1590). It didn't work and i think the 2base/BS uncapped is much better, you remove a lot of RNG from the game.
Things to have, know;
1) You want to have DBM or another mod installed that tells you the final score. DBM is accurate at 100%(i will explain later why it is so).
2)You can use the "join as premade" button again, we had 1 mins queue and we faced horde PuGs.
3) I'm not sure Preform AV enabler is required anymore, maybe with that you don't have long queues but again i joined AB with the usual "join as party" button. 13/15 players in my raid had Preform AV enabler.
4)I got told that the game could end without winners(draw), you can see it from the message-s you get at 1440 points. Say that both of horde/alliance got the same points and they go up at the same time, If the Alliance message comes faster then the hordes ones, you will get your achievement(if you are alliance side ofc), like i did yday. If they comes at the same time then you might need to cap BS but at 1440 it might be too late.
Macros i used and that might help you;
1)
/ra Welcome to the Ab premade!(Macros inc)
/ra You should have by now installed and enabled >Preform Av Enabler<, if you don't, go DL it at

2)
/ra Tactic used: Capture >Stables< and >Mine< ASAP. Control BS but don't cap it until 1:08mins are left before the end of the game.
/ra As usual call incs. Remember that if you die at BS you will get ported to mine or Stables so get back to BS asap.
3)
/ra Raid composition, (Note; i wont set up the grps once inside, so check your group now and see what you will need to defend)
/ra Grp1= Stables, Grp2= Mine. Grp3= BS
/ra Grp4= Bs/Mine Grp5= Bs/Stab,
4)
/ra Grp 4 and 5 will move from BS only when someone from the stables or mine call incs. Say that Stables call 3 incs, Grp 5 will need to help them.
5)
/ra IMPORTANT: Don't let them cap anything, If we lose one base or if they cap BS, we will need to play with a 3/2 tactic. In other words we cap 3 then we let them cap 3 etc..etc.. until DBM says that we will end up winning for 1600-1590.
More things to know;
1) Alliance always had an advantage in AB from the 1st day... You can cap stables faster then the horde's farm. You need to cap it before them and you need to cap Mine at the same time they cap LM.
2) Don't cap BS, you can actually don't cap it at all. Play 2 vs 2 bases. Don't lose any of them or it will !@#$ it up the time left/Score etc.
3) DBM is accurate at 100%, at least in the last builds. Why? We started the game like i described in 1) and we capped Mine too fast. The game would have ended up 1600-1580 in 22 mins or so. At some point we lost Stables and we decided to let them have it for some seconds, until we would end up having the same score.
We managed to do that. After we defend stables, DBM calculated that we would
still
the game but this time 1600-1590. The points where going up at the same exact time, we couldn't notice any difference. The 1440 resource message came and we(alliance) were the first one at getting it. I got told that the game would have ended up in a draw if we didn't want to cap BS like most of the tactics on Wowhead and other sites would say. I decided to risk it after seeing the "1440 message" and thank God, we got it.
4) My grp composition was, like i posted in the macro;
Grp1= Stables, Grp2= Mine. Grp3= BS
Grp4= Bs/Mine Grp5= Bs/Stab
Grp 1and 2
have 3 people; Each grp have 1 healer and 1 dps.
Grp 4,5
are the support gourps. They need to be between BS/stab and mine. If Horde(in this case) zerg something both gourps will need to help bs/mine and stab. In case only 5-6 will attack mine or stables then only the respective support group will move.
I.e. 6 incs to Stables, stables call it and Grp5 move to them.
Grp 3
have 5 players, at least 1 healer.
5) I think the BS tactic work but if you don't want to risk and all the 15 people have time just make the game last 15-20 mins by just using 2vs2 bases strategy.
I hope this will help whoever needs this achievement, i know the frustration you could gain from not getting it.

Just got this last night with my Rogue completely unintentionally. Lots of raid screaming and name calling back and forth got it for us. We just held 2 nodes (BS and GM). The rest of the raid just ran back and forth fighting it out to cap and lose Farm and LM over and over. The best feeling ever when we won and the achievement popped up.

The funny part was that we had them 4 capped and were winning too fast. At around1550 vs 1560, they capped ST slowing us down enough to pull it off. I was so amazed that I searched my log for the alliance toon who capped ST, created a character on his server, and thanked him. *!@#$%-bag move, but what else would you expect from the Horde?

Achieved this evening, really good battle. Horde were leading 1550-1490, but we managed to get a 3rd base with one undecided, this managed to get us to 1600 just as horde ticked over to 1590.

Just got this tonight, i'm so glad i got it.
The last minute i felt like i was sitting on nails, it was all a struggle to keep the lead by 10 points and have horde get to 1590.
And we won, i shouted.
This has happened twice for me during end-TBC till today.
Once on warrior, once on rogue.

Got this last night on my DK - on my first ever battleground on him, just grinding 2k honour for a new shoulder enchant
The whole battle was a game of leap-frog, us Hordies holding 3-2, then the Alliance taking the Mine, then us taking it back...none of the other bases were touched, the whole game. All 30 players were just duking it out in the mine.
In the end, we took the mine at 1530-1540 to the Alliance, and we reached 1600 just after they got 1590. I'm not a PvPer at all, I didn't even know this achievement exsisted. After getting the hardest one, maybe I'll go for the Battlemaster achievement now.

An alternative method to get this achievement is to let your opponent capture 3 bases and you hold the other 2. At a calculated score you take the third base and hold it the rest of the match. Using some math you can figure out when you need to take the 3rd base to win by 10.
The equations below use the following values:
Flag cap time: 8 seconds
Final score for win: 1600
Final opponent score for achievement: 1590
Flag transfer time: 60 seconds
Points per second when holding 2 bases: 10/9 (~1.111)
Points per second when holding 3 bases: 10/6 (~1.666)
To make the equations easier on the eyes, the following are variables and their meaning:
YCS = Your Current Score
OCS = Opponent Current Score
OSFFC = Opponent’s Score For Flag Cap (when the 8 second flag cap time needs to start )
Below is an equation for how many seconds from the current score snapshot you need to wait before starting the cap on the 3rd base. Do not enter scores into the equation until you are in the scenario of your team has 2 nodes and your opponent has 3 (they need to be fully capped).
X = 541.2 + (0.72 * YCS) – (1.08 * OCS)
Note: a negative value for X indicates that you are either too far ahead or too far behind to use this strategy for the rest of the match
The output from above will give you an idea of when you need to be ready to take your 3rd base. Remember, your team needs to control that base early to ensure you can attack the flag at the proper moment.
Using the time X from above, use the following equation to give you an idea of what your opponents score needs to be when you START (click on the flag) the cap.
OSFFC = OCS + 1.666 * (X – 8)
Note for advanced precision: The OSFFC number will most likely fall between the 10 point incremental scores. Due to these equations being unable to know the EXACT moment the score became the ‘current score’ used in the equations this is a necessary evil. However, if you take the ‘ones’ digit (example 1205 = 5) and multiply it by 0.6 you will get the amount of seconds after the OSFCC to start the cap. In my example of 1205, this would mean start the cap approximately 3 seconds after the opponent reaches a score of 1200.
I recommend using a spreadsheet or similar with the above equations, so as the score adjusts you can re-enter the current score and get new values of when to take control of the third base.
After you get into your 3v2 homestretch Deadly Boss Mods will give you a projection of what the final score will end up being, allowing you to make minor adjustments as necessary.

Yesterday I successfully led a premade to get this. The strat we used is actually pretty simple. We started by capping mine and stables very quickly, 1 group to each. One group was also sent to blacksmith, but that was never capped. so the game was 2 bases each the whole time. The rest is all about defense and assigning people to rush to the defense of bases in trouble. Be sure to not leave bases open. We had at least 2 people at each base at all times. If they manage to cap a base. Its pretty much over. In the event where the opposing team manages to cap before you do, putting them 10 ahead, its no problem. You can just cap BS 1 min 10 sec before the game ends to receive the extra 10 points. This took us 3 tries, however on the second after we failed we let them 4 cap and got resilient victory, so it wasn't a total loss. If you have any questions about how we did this. I'm not sure if the achievement is bugged or not.. Just got it on my lvl 28 priest alt..
First bg on him and was 15 hordies vs 3 allies.
Needless to say score was 1600 - 0 but i still got the achieve?
