50 Easy Elders: Getting the Lunar Festival Pet
The biggest draw of the 2012 Lunar Festival is the new vanity pets--but the catch is that the Festival vendors sell different ones to each faction for 50 Coins of Ancestry. However, the pets are BoE, so we'll show you the easiest way to get 50 Elders if you rolled an alt for the pet, but got stumped after ??-level guards one-shot you in Brill. Whether you want to sell extra pets for gold, roll a toon on the opposite faction to put the pet on the Neutral AH, or don't have enough tokens on your main to buy everything you want (like engineers), this guide can help.
This guide provides maps and tables organized by difficulty level for each faction. For Elders that are tricky or located far away from flight paths, I've also provided tips to reach them without dying, after personal experience on my 58 deathknight and 62 mage.
For the purposes of this guide, I will assume that you only have ground riding. Deathknights have flight paths in 1-60 zones learned automatically, so getting to 60 for a Flight Master's License is not that important if your'e that class. However, you will be able to get 4+ more Elders easily with flying.

Traveling Around Azeroth: A Transportation Guide
Getting around Azeroth quickly is important--especially with holidays requiring lots of travel like the Lunar Festival and Love is in the Air coming up. Basic flight paths can take you anywhere, but they're slow and easily up to 15 minutes across a continent. And which boat goes where from Stormwind anyway? There are numerous items, teleports, and portals that can shave minutes off your travel experience--whether you're looking to get to an Outland instance to farm transmog gear or have archaeology digsites scattered across the world. There's even breadcrumb quests that you can hold onto which will provide useful ports!
With this guide, you'll learn about all the travel options on each continent. You'll never have to spam trade looking for a mage to port you to a major city again!
Travel Basics
Flight paths are what most players will use to travel between nearby zones, and Cataclysm added many new flight paths to the game. You can view them for a particular region by looking at our zone maps and turning on the flight path option. Continent maps also show boat/zeppelin paths as well.

Well Read: A Guide to the Books of Azeroth
With the
2011 Blizzard Global Writing Contest
fast approaching, now is a perfect time to review the lore of Azeroth--starting with the most obvious place--the books and monuments in game!
You'd be surprised to discover the wealth of information covered right in-game, from the founding of ancient empires to gripping accounts of recent battles, not to mention the detailed readable plaques by statues. There's even a few achievements that reward diligent players for their ocular fortitude.

Completing

To complete this achievement, you'll need to read books that spawn every few hours in eight locations in Dalaran--and only remain for several minutes after being opened. Besides the long repsawn rate, there is a chance players can instead obtain "dud" books instead--jokey writings that spawn instead of the ones needed for the achievement.

Beyond Bloody Rare: A Guide to All Rares
Meet Ashelia and Perculia. They collect things and camp rares. Ashelia once spent seventy-two hours camping

Burgy Cordisnero
--if only he wasn't a ghost and a gnome.
It seems sort of natural, then, that for this weekend's guide we're all about rares. We've combed the database looking for rares, talked amongst ourselves, and then Perculia's made sense of our findings by writing up detailed explanations. The end result is that now there's a giant guide of every rare in the game worth camping. So while Ashelia is camping for a camel deep in Uldum and as Perculia almost considers camping

Before you get started, make sure to download addons like

which are no longer targetable making them hard to spot.
Do note, however, that this guide won't cover ones that drop negligible items for the most part. But if it's worth camping because it has a unique model for a

Shifty Hands: A Guide to Picking Pockets
Bater Carteira
, for the less-agile and uninitiated, is a unique ability allowing rogues in stealth to loot special items from hostile mobs without entering combat. If done sloppily, it can aggro mobs, annoy your party members, and make you look pretty clumsy. If done correctly (and with enough bag space), you can amass a collection of unique items, and if you’re lucky, some epics inside of a lockbox. There's a lot of mundane objects in the pockets of Azeroth, but one's trash is another's treasure--you might find something amusing like a trashy novel or loaded dice.
This is a guide using Wowhead's vast database to show you every fun item you can pickpocket in World of Warcraft. Either for vanity item collections or just to send your friend something fun, this list will help you rediscover Azeroth and more.

Cataclysm Leveling Flow Guide: 1-60
Cataclysm tore the world asunder and redefined Azeroth--Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor will never be the same. However, as exciting as it's been to watch this all unfold, it also means that it's harder than it was before to get back into the groove of things if you have taken a break. Even starting a new alt can be a mystifying journey since all the zones have been returned and the landscape changed. Darkshore was hit with tragedy, the Barrens is split in two, and tensions have never been higher in Silverpine Forest. There’s too much to take in and it's hard to know where to start sometimes.
But don't worry--that's what we're here for, right? In addition to having
a lengthy guide to the Cataclysm changes
in our Cataclysm section of Wowhead, this post will get you up to speed on the general leveling progression of World of Warcraft for levels 1-60.
Find out where to go, what zones you shouldn't pass up, and more after the break! We've even included some fun items to hunt for to give you reasons to check out certain zones over others!

Cataclysm New Zones Preview
We're finally in the last days until World of Warcraft's Cataclysm expansion hits, bringing with it two new races (
which we covered previously
) and a ton of new zones, quests, dungeons, raids and more! We've gotten quite a look at the future of World of Warcraft with the recent patch, The Shattering, in which Deathwing brought destruction to the zones of Azeroth, changing our World of Warcraft forever.
The Shattering patch brought massive changes to all of the existing zones.
For those purchasing the Cataclysm expansion, you will see new zones being added to the game
. These new zones include 4 new zones for Goblin and Worgen races and 6 new leveling / endgame zones for players level 80 - 85. Check out our preview of these zones, from our
Cataclysm Guide

including maps, screenshots and even videos

Cataclysm: Old World Zone Changes
As you probably know by now,
patch 4.0.3a includes a complete restructuring of old-world content
. This ranges from
cosmetic changes
to
modifications to the leveling flow throughout both continents
. These changes have been documented in our handy-dandy
Cataclysm Guide
, but since we're all waiting for the servers to come up, we figured a primer might be appreciated.
Check out the information after the break, complete with some
entertaining videos covering the new race starting zones
