First tip : Wait until next expansion to play*edit after the fact, a lot of people got salty about a joke*there is still plenty to do in World of Warcraft but I feel as a prot warrior main that there is little keeping me to play BFA.
Step 1: Hey, please don't pick shaman.Step 2: Okay fine. But don't pick elemental.Step 3: *shrug*
Here's how I know everybody in the comments actually love the expansion : if you thought it sucked, you would have cancelled your subscription and stopped following Wowhead news months ago.
This is a fantastic guide for new players!
Bellular's Youtube Channel is what really got me back into WoW (during pre-Legion) and now I tune in religiously. Some people start their day by going to a favorite news site, I swing by YouTube to see if Bellular has posted a new video.I love his ability to critique the game without turning on it or wanting to burn it all down. He'll dive into a particular topic/feature (like Azerite gear) explain what's not working with it, why players might feel annoyed/slighted, and offer suggestions for improvement. He validates and articulates a lot of what I feel as a player without making me angry at the dev team for decisions I don't agree with. His love/passion as a player is tempered by his wisdom/experience as a game developer. And his developer background has taught him to step back and look at the big picture, like how a particular expansion's features might fit into the overall flow of the WoW experience (His videos prepared me for the crummy feeling of losing our artifact weapons and explained why it was an important move for WoW overall). Not to mention that accent.... I only wish he'd bring back lore videos, I could listen to him talk about WoW history forever, but that's why we have Nobbel.
The game was an absolute masterpiece when it came out not necessarily because it was better than what it is today but simply because in 2005 there was nothing that could compare. WoW looked and played absolutely amazing back then in comparison to the other games in the market at the time, and thats why it quickly became the most played MMORPG ever and was considered a masterpiece. Fast forward 13 years and if we look at the game today and what it has to offer from a technical and gameplay point of view, and then we consider that the costs and fees have not changed in the last 13 years, i think we can all agree that the game is beyond ancient, and a shadow of it former self at best. This is the real issue. Expecting people to pay a monthly subscription to play a game with hitboxes and with a graphic comparable to what you'd expect from an iphone game in 2018. The people that play this game are those guys that, like me and many others, felt that sense of amazement and wonder when it first released or in the "good years" of the first couple expansions and never really moved on. I think BFA is perhaps the sign that it really is time to let go and find something else that is worth playing, at least personally, having reached a point where even games i've personally always despised, like Assassin's Creed or COD, are actually more fun and engaging than spamming WQ's and doing 10's for a disguised lootbox once a week.
shouldnt this guide just be a black screen with the word "dont" in the center
