Shamanstone: Heroes of The Skill
"FalconePunch is hopeful that Paladins and Rogues are on the rise". Why do we need to have Paladins and Rogues "on the rise"? Where does it say that each hero class must be played in equal quantities? Do people really think that all 9 heroes will be played in equal amounts month after month or in tournaments? It sounds to me that some people's desire to have equality with everything is over-riding their common sense. Who cares if people don't play all hero classes in equal amounts? Maybe Blizzard? If Blizzard wants more people to play Priest...they'll give the Priest better cards or maybe they don't mind that Priest isn't getting played much.I still see plenty of Condom Paly, N'Zoth Paly, Murloc Paly, Miracle Rogue, N'Zoth Rogue, and Reno Rogue and those decks still have viable win rates. Maybe not viable in a tournament, but who says that each class must be represented equally in every tournament? If some players don't like the abundance of a certain class being unequally picked over other classes...perhaps this isn't the game for them.
Reno rogue has good win rates? N'zoth rogue? No way man, I have played both and failed. Also, they are not seen in higher ranks of ladder.
This is about the tournament meta not the ladder. It's a very different type of meta aimed specifically at selecting decks that work with the specific format that the tournaments use (i.e you have to win with every one of your non-banned decks so you can't afford to run a deck that has more than one weak match up). That requires different tactics to simple laddering so the meta in tournaments is not necessarily a representation of what the meta is like on ladder.
Thrombin2 you are right, whoops. For the tournament meta I would like to see creative cards used, like how nexus champion saraad was used in the Asian Spring finals.
