She wants to dispose of Thrall for the same reason she ordered the assassination of Calia Menethil. Sylvanas is an usurper and she sees them as a threat to her usurped positions of power (Queen of Lordaeron, Warchief of the Horde...).
Shaman enhance confirmed getting 2hers back
Forgive my ignorance, but does the mark under the assassin's eye have any significance?
He's so old! He looks older than Saurfang now! :'(I wonder how Saurfang tracked two stealthed rogues...
Really, Sylvanas tries to assassinate Thrall and sends only 2 rogues, not even dark rangers just two forsaken rogues ? That doesn't seem like Sylvanas, if anything isn't she one that would go too far to make sure that the target dies instead of sending a force that is guaranteed to loose, if they can't kill the target in a single hit without being noticed ? That just seems weird to me.I mean yes I might be biased since I am still hoping for that "moral greyness" and hope there is something bigger behind Sylvanas actions. Though hopefully no Old God controlling her or some "she is just selflessly sacrificing herself for the greater good by doing what is necessary", let her keep her own selfish goals and desires, please don't suddenly try to turn her into some misunderstood tragic hero, just make her using those cruel and merciless means to pursue her goals and desires benefit the Horde (maybe Azeroth) in the long run.
They(the rogues) might have been sent by Nathanos? He might do anything to protect his queen even going against her order to go after someone she does not see as a threat but he does? Hope this not affect her "grand" plan ;) Sylvanas surrounds herself with bad allies^^ Putress and Varimathras comes to mind. Even if Nathanos is doing this to protect her it might not be sanctioned by her? Or it's Calia aiding Saurfang if she has any undead rogue followers?I could see Sylvanas replacing the Lich King seeing as she losing her means to resurrect herself with even more death of her val'kyrs. However don't know if I want her to be Lich Queen or some redeemed Kerrigan type than she would get even more plot armor than she already has as it would be nearly impossible to kill her or even go against her with such power.Though some people see her as she want to protect her people still, I see more and more of mad Daenerys from GoT in her doing it all for herself and all to justify her means.
"Thrall, the Horde is totally getting screwed. We need your help!""Don't care. Not my problem."*Sylvie's lackies attack*"Now, it's my problem."
Yep, we totally need another Warcraft Movie! *-* These cinematics are way to awesome to only be cinematics.
I quit because Sylvanas ruins the story, only chance i'll be returning is if she is killed off and goes straight to the shadow lands right next to arthas. Also the Sylvanas fanbase being toxic is also a reason it sours me off any story involving her, I mean just look 2 comments up how one of them implies anyone who wants a "lighter ending" or "closure" is an "8 year old"
It seems to me that Sylvanas realizes that to rule the Horde the way she is accustomed, she needs to weed out any and all resistance. Remember, Sylvanas doesn't care if she ends up killing half the Horde, because she can always raise them in Undeath. This is what raising Night Elves in Undeath implies: Sylvanas now has no barriers to creating new Forsaken. I believe she hasn't done so *yet* because this will be an 8.3 reveal. It is clear that Sylvanas cannot understand the motives of living beings, nor can she deal with having to justify herself to people. She rules pretty unilaterally with the Forsaken pretty much of one mind behind her -- and she outright slaughtered those Forsaken who in any way didn't tow the "party line" (as we saw in the novel). So instead of waiting for the "inevitable" coup, she's fostering it, gathering all her opponents and when the time is right will destroy all of them under the guise that they were dishonorable. this is why she *needs* Thrall to be involved. She needs to destroy every conceivable rallying point for the "old ways,"She will then raise those dead Horde in Undeath, in which case she now has an entire faction completely on the same page with her on next steps. However, soon she'll realize that these living, loyal, Horde are too much of a problem and she will turn on them...because the only folks she can relate to are the undead.Ultimately, Sylvanas has become a "Lich Queen," but the reason why Bolvar despises her is because the Arthas and now Bolvar strove/strive to keep the Scourge in check in some degree. Sylvanas would keep encroaching until all of Azeroth is Forsaken.I do not think at all this will result in a Sylvanas boss raid, or one in which she is enchained/destroyed. Rather, I really think Blizzard is setting her up to be the WoW equivalent of D&D's Raven Queen (a newly minted death "deity" looking to carve out influence). I think a future expansion will see something of a "war" in the Shadowlands, of which Sylvanas will be one of the key players (imagine having to choose whether to fight the "Shadow War" under Sylvans' banner, Bolvar's, Helya's or Bwomsamdi's boss' as they fight each other over who has control of the Shadowlands)In any event, this is largely conjecture, but I do believe that Sylvanas' plan is to essentially have all the possible threats to her rule of the Horde destroyed, and do that by getting them all to gather together, and the player will need to choose between turning on those Horde or siding with them at the very end (which would play out the player choice options Horde players have been given so far).
I just realized something abou thralls new look.Hes clearly wearing a frostwolf pelt. Do u think its Snowsong's pelt? Aka the frostwolf hes had ever since he joined the frostwolf clan? The same wolf he rode in wc3 (canonically changed to being snowsong later when the lore was better established). By the time of War crimes it was said he was pretty old and probably not long for this world. In fact in legion u can get his puppy Snowfang.Durotan wore the pelt of his original wolf (or was it his mothers im not sure actually) to honor its sacrifice so itd make sense for thrall to wear snowsongs since he was with him since the startKinda makes me sad that snowsong passed away but it makes sense
