bye bobby dont let the door hit you on the way out.Hoping this will bring a golden age back to blizzard, specially if they bring back life to IPs like starcraft hots and wc3
shame, guy was a legend
That depends. For a 13 year old its a lifetime.Heck they don't remember what they were told or did two minutes earlier For a 40+ player it was last Tuesday.
Best thing that happened to WoW since its original release.Bye Robert and stay out of things that are fun.
that 500million that piece of ^&*! got should have been used on the workers, not to to fatten his @#$%ty pockets
i feel like we - not just as customers, but gaming culture as a whole - lost something today... its not just control (we rarely have via interests, aka wallet), but integrity. its not that ABK isnt a neocon itself, but yet a monolithic gatekeeper (EU lists MS as gatekeeper) with historically verified monopolist tendencies consolidated further on our (gaming) culture - with more "streamlining" to come.in the (not so far) end, (product) diversity, quality and content (range) will be determined by (neo)corporate identity and therefore will gaming culture too. what once was a market of many creative studios, indies and companies - games made by (the) people for (the) people - already grew into shareholder value business, even the most democratic innovations of gaming culture like KS, Star Citizen etc. streamlined by corporate interests. see StarField as demonstrative illustration of neocon identity overkill - its a Bethesda, but not a Bethesda game anymore, its just Sawyers symptomatic semantics scaled and not just Bethesda games lost their inherent soul, Star Citizen as much as Minecraft etc. became hollow (in the Souls sense) due to corporate interests.those interests never align further than the customers (sry, i mean players) wallets, instead of a integration into an already thriving culture, neocons compromisedly force control to corrupt and stagnate it into rigid business decisions, its no longer about dreams, friends and fun, but revenue, profit and shareholder value. but the various methods of gaming cultures rigid monetisation over the last decade r just the consequences of the beginning of the neocons take-over process, the next milestone in corporate roadmap is Web3 (eg CCP (EVE) invested 44million into Web3 development), they simply havent fould the right framing yet.
Just goes to show you, you can almost drive a multi-billion dollar company into the ground by cannibalizing it from the inside out (don't forget, allowing the grotesque behavior of his underlings to continue unabated for years), then turn around & sell it when its on life-support and STILL keep your job! I bet he even got a kick-back for this. GTH Bobby

Kotick: "The goal that I had in bringing a lot of the packaged goods folks into Activision about 10 years ago was to take all the fun out of making video games."Phil Spencer (new CEO): During his early time at Microsoft he was known by other employees to be an avid gamer, playing games such as Ultima Online in the office.Best thing that could ever happen to Blizzard.
This is not a win for anybody but bobby. People are gonna get fired at blizzard because microsoft doesn't need this many devs and customer support people as they own other studios. Now we are gonna be forced to use that stupid microsoft account to login into wow. This is a sad day for all of us.

This article is literally about Bobby Kotick leaving at the beginning of 2024, and lots of people don't seem to understand why he's so hated. Some are literally defending him. So a comment detailing some of his worst atrocities getting deleted and labeled "inappropriate" is really, really sad. And ironic.
