I'm annoyed that they made the Glory achievement require Mythic but didn't change the name. "Glory of the Legion Myth" works perfectly! Also huh, until I saw them all listed I didn't realize that this was the first expansion since Cata not to update a Classic dungeon for max level. I guess Violet Hold sort of counts?
I noticed only one dungeon, Violet Hold, is mid level(105-110). All the other dungeons are either level 98 and above or max level. Do the dungeons scale with the level of the party or do we have only 1 choice of dungeon once we hit mid-range level? Just seems odd that Blizzard only made one mid range dungeon.
Asking a player with 'sub-optimal' gear levels to make their own Mythic (or whatever level of content is relevant) group works the same way... not many are happy to Group with someone who is deemed 'poorly geared' in the same way as said character would get declined by (for want of using a better term) elitist Group leaders - I know it's abhorrent terminology, but it serves the purpose for this example. The simplest answer would be for Mythic Groups to be composed of Guild Members; that way everyone would (well; should) know each other & any QQ can be handled by Guild Officers. With Legion adding story content to be run in Mythic Dungeons, there will be a proportion of the player-base who will find some degree of difficulty getting into Mythic content, despite even being in their Guilds for years, if they don't play regularly enough for those who run Mythic content regularly to want to include them in a Guild run.Sadly, it's another string in the bow of 'who you know' being the key to getting ahead in WoW, even if you've played for years; earning trust is hard enough to do, as it is, but if that trust is so readily discarded once it's been attained, for a tiny mistake, then what was the point in the first place?I would add this, to those who are regular PuG leaders... if the worst that happens is you have to spend a few 'precious' Gold on repairs when you take along someone you don't know that well, so what...? If you have to go though WoW doing everything perfectly, then what are you learning?"A wipe is incomplete progress; a clinical 1st time complete teaches nothing."
What's the point of even having an heroic difficulty at this point? Entry level mythic should be old heroic difficult then it scales up from there into mythics like they're doing with the Mythic+. All these difficulties of raids and dungeons is getting out of control and need to be scaled back before we end up with normal/heroic/mythic/mythic+/champion/champion++/omgwtfbbq/omgwtfbbq+++/lifeending.
OK; I feel I need to expand on my previous post; "Wall of text" alert...!With the rise in Dungeon levelling/spamming there will be those who know said Instances backwards (sic) - I'm still a player who 'Loremasters' zones to death to level & does Dungeons when required by story... enter Legion, where this game-style has returned (been reinforced) & I welcome it.Now; to me "living in Dungeons" gives players who do so a small advantage over those who quest & that is something that isn't easy to relay to those you get grouped with - not so much a big deal in Normals, granted, but it becomes more of an issue as difficulty increases.Add to this that if higher difficulties aren't just a 'numbers hike' then a first foray into Mythic (for example) may have something that even a player reasonably familiar with lower difficulties may not be a aware of... "Wasn't aware of that..." *kicked from Group* for causing a wipe... This is not paranoia, it happens.Throw into the mix that those who are of a Loremaster persuasion - as opposed to levelling in Dungeons - may go into Dungeons for quest reasons in a Tank or Healer role as a first time run; who gives any other player the right to decide that a Tank/Healer on a first run in a Dungeon who makes a mistake, due to inexperience, is a cr*p Tank/Healer and deserves to be kicked...?So; the upshot of this may be 'perceived elitism', if you will, but active exclusion from content by some when the content maker says you're good enough but the Group makers says otherwise is something that some have a harder time with than others. At the end of the day, if some players, however few, shout loud enough that 'levelling through Quests is too trivial' then sooner or later this spreads and the thinking becomes more & more ingrained. Blizzard puts Questing into the game for a reason & I pray that those who do questing to level their characters don't end up becoming a niche player-set... how we get to max. level should be irrelevant; what should be more important is that we GOT there - how ever long it took - and deserve a fair shout at 'the harder content'. By all means, if someone continues to make the same mistake repeatedly, then they aren't learning but if 'one mistake is too many' then I think those making that decision are the ones with the problem, not the one who made the mistake.@jarycu - thank you for the invite, but I'm the wrong side of the Atlantic to make that a viable proposition.
Thats great that all dungeons on Normal will scale. Doe sit take the average of levels of the 5 party members? If there are 4 110's and 1 100 that is being carried, is the XP worth it for the 100 being carried?
I would like to poi.t out that some times you have bad timing and try and join a group right as they pick a healer , fill dps, or goad a guildy to come.
