Easy fix is don't let IPs outside the region play on that region's servers. Most of the huge farmers and botters are foreign due to time vs money. VPN? Nope. Just make the wow client check for that.
Why would pick pocket loot respawn? I could make sense in the open world for different people, but not inside dungeons
90% of the "community" are bots, if bliz banned all bots wow would die instantly. you think the teens are playing wow classic lmao. its a bunch of bearded middle aged nostalgia trippers and chinese bots. No bots= no wow.
How will a game token fix the problem? The bots will just sell gold for cheaper than the game token. We have game token in retail and there are still a massive amount of bots around.
i don't care if they grind dungeons. but they will run around in outdoors and grind tokens for shattrath factions, primals from quest mobs and all that kind of things. and reporting will not help, like we all know. since i need those mobs now, not few months later.
This is big issue and not an easy to solve.I would say that it also needs reactive measures from players to stomp this issue if they really want to stomp it, but I doupt it.Basically one working solution would be crafting co-operatives where here is number of specialized crafters for various goods and they accept goods from players they know that farm personally and not with bot. Then all guilds within this co-op would put absolute zero tolerance to buying gold and other such activities and kicking any member who is found in violation of rule.On other hand above would split server population to two camps which is not good either so not so good solution either. So basically this problem can not be completely solved for good but make impact lesser of economy by supporting legit farmers and crafters.like I said, no easy or quick solution to issue and yea I have seen impact first handed by fall of price of certain items pretty dramatically when those are not so needed.
I wonder if people commenting on this "article" had their parents block reddit, how many of them would actually notice this supposed epidemic of bots. In late November after a long break (quit in the middle of p3) I decided to reroll horde in preparation for TBC. I had seen the endless reddit threads about botting and GDKP and the economy in ashes. The hyperbole surrounding these issue is so astoundingly severe that I have to believe most people complaining about it like it makes the game unplayable are living in a separate reality. I have now leveled two characters to 60 on Razorgore EU, a very high pop realm. I have seen *maybe* one person I suspected to be a bot in the entire time I've leveled both characters. I often fish for Oily Blackmouth, I often herb and mine, and I see almost nothing the people in these threads talk about. As for GDKP and the economy, right now, the inflation only helps everyone, I was able to buy my epic mount when I hit 60 on my first toon just being clever with TSM. I think people are delusional if they think there wouldn't have been a serious case of inflation without bots that farm raw gold. I have also not ever felt pressured to buy my gear, there are GDKP runs, but there are also a plethora of pugs and guilds running stuff. Classic was a dumpster fire in a lot of ways, but people losing their minds over bots has to be the largest case of hysterical blizzbad hiveminding i have ever witnessed. There are multiple people in this very comment section that believe the classic wow population is made up of mostly bots. Think about that rationally for a second. On reddit they would have been gilded. I feel sorry for people that read the drivel you people write about the game, because it might scare people away from a great experience. I have had an amazingly wonderful time leveling my two toons during P6, but the neckbeards here would have you believe it's a wasteland. Go outside and actually quit the game if you think this is a problem. Put up, or shut up.
I'm sorry, what %^&*in mobs are these bots pick-pocketing in BRD that give you 25 silver EACH. I spent many hours in there farming for my epic mount back in 2019, and none of em were given that much.
Lots and lots of tryhards gonna play TBC, and the new generation of wow players have learned that you can simply just buy gold and get your gear and feel like you accomplished something. The huge demand for gold is why there are so many bots.
Now with paid character boots? Sooooo bad.
