I'm so excited to run this year!
Ironic.
Trolls and Pride used in the same sentence…That’s a bit ironic.
Trolls will be there. I guarantee it.
Trollkyo Drift is pretty clever lol
I'll bring out the harpsicord! Would Luciano Michelini's "Frolic" song be too out of style?
Super cool! I made my troll early to hang out.
Happy Pride!
I wish events like this were not needed to make people realise that they are not alone, that there is nothing wrong with them and that they should not be made to feel ashamed of who they are when they're hurting nobody. but we live in a world where people are discriminated against for absolutely ridiculous excuses for reasons and unfortunately the gaming community has a long history of being aggressively against many minorities (and against women who aren't a minority, they're close to half the population, but have been made to seem and feel a minority in so called masculine hobbies) and which has a notoriously vocal homophobic elementevents like this allow people to show each other and everyone else that they are proud of who they are, to show each other that they are not alone and to remind the rest of us that not everybody is the same as us and that their sharing our space and our hobbies does us no harm and that they are (mostly) great people who we can have fun with
It's crazy to see that this community event bothers so many people considering it's just a fun event for anyone who wants to join in and doesn't impact anyone who doesn't want to participate. Also, it's the same community who hosts the gnome run for cancer later in the year. It's a fun break from the grinds with a whole lot of happy people.
(As an openly gay person myself)I believe it's important to define the line between being proud of your individuality, and being prideful that you are unique; education (Not indoctrination) is important, but having the self-awareness to acknowledge the self-gratification or self-aggrandizement of your mission is important to fully appreciate the message you're sending and the impact it has on the impressionable people which need to decide for themselves, rather than being fed media which encourages a cyclical self-acceptance.My 2 cents aside (And mostly unrelated to the topic at hand), I hope everyone has fun in this race and kudos to the organizer!
nice to see news about this. warcraft is for everyone!
The people loudly complaining about Pride are the actual reason we need to have Pride.
If you are the the mindset that you need this in order to feel accepted in this world, more power to ya, and I hope you have fun, but it does baffle me how we have become a society where if someone wants to celebrate traditional philosophies, it's considered hate. The fact of the matter is people that need this are just as hateful of people with other views as they claim others to be.
It's a community event and if it wasnt shared here as a news or you're playing on the Feathermoon server, you probably wouldn't have even noticed it exists. So people should calm their $%^&. On the other hand, I understand people who treat WoW as escapism from the real world with all of these controversial topics people debate, scream and hate each other over, and who feel angry that these topics seem to follow them into their retreat.
