This ancient served the night elves priestesses of the Temple of Elune, tending the beautiful Hanging Gardens. But after the malevolence of the Legion infected the Cathedral, the guardian absorbed fel energy through his roots. Now the twisted Agronox spreads corruption throughout the sanctuary he once protected, believing he has finally achieved his ideal state.
Smashspite's detestable brother, Thrashbite, has been dispatched to wipe out the mortals entering the cathedral's grand library. The dimwitted mo'arg lacks any respect for knowledge or learning, feeling petty satisfaction as he crashes through ancient artifacts and tramples priceless tomes.
With the Aegis of Aggramar socketed back into its cradle, Domatrax leads an onslaught of demons to destroy the relic.
On Mythic difficulty, Domatrax summons additional demons at 33% health. Also, if the Fel Portal Guardians are not destroyed within a specific time, an overfiend emerges.
Mephistroth orchestrates the Legion's invasion from the Broken Shores. With the forces of Azeroth pushing against his front line, Mephistroth has fallen back to the Cathedral of Eternal Night, where he will employ all his cunning to ensure the heroes fail in securing the Aegis of Agrammar.
On Mythic difficulty, Shadows of Mephistroth also use Fel Obliteration against the Aegis Wielder in order to knock the shield from their hands.
That looks absolutely fabulous. Im looking forward to it.
At a quick glance I misread the title as Cathedral of Early Night... yeah I haven't had one of those since discovering WoW...The dungeon looks absolutely gorgeous.
Did anyone else think of the entrance to ICC when watching the beginning portion of the Cathedral early preview vid? (both music and scenery, although it's less frosty)
You know, I'd really like to see WoW take a darker turn in the next expansion; a bit more spooky and provocative. I want to go back to that place where you actually feel a little creeped out walking through the forest like in Duskwood when you'd be riding passed Raven Hill on your slow ass mount, or worse walking, hoping you didn't run into "Patches". I love ambiance. I always have the ambiance volume maxed out and everything else lowered. It really adds to the atmosphere which I think is key in creating a really immersive gaming experience. That said, this is by far and away the best expansion since WotLK and has, in my opinion, even surpassed it in play-ability despite it not being particularly alt friendly. At any rate, you won't hear/read these low attention span gnat brains complaining about "nothing to do anymore". And if you do? Well, consider the source ...
I hope there will be other reading related achievements in the library. I envision finishing the encounter or maybe the whole instance and then going back and collecting books off the reading list.. the A Steamy Romance Saga sounds fun as well. Well I guess you can't link PTR date on here yet... That's the Steamy Romance Saga Achievement...
tbh i feel like 7.2 would come in about a month, cuz 7.1.5 didnt really add any major content to the game. Outside the Nighthold raid, there aren't really that much stuff for ppl to do. Dev already said that patch release and raid release would be different, so we can expect an early release of 7.2 as a patch with Tomb of Sargeras being released quite a while after that
Blizzard/activison sure do love twisty stairs..im surprised that we dont get fatigued buff..but i love this..it would be great if we had to read the books and get like a library card in the process..lol..and..get an achievment..like....reading is fundamental ..

"Maiev: Did you really think you could elude me, Illidan? Run again and I'll shackle you like the beast you are.Illidan: Posture if you must, Maiev, but for now, do what you do best and follow me.Maiev: Forgive me if my glaive finds your heart, Illidan. With so many demons about, it's hard to distinguish you from the rest of the filth."I will quote Tristan Taylor from Yu-Gi-Oh: The Abridged Series:"JUST F**K ALREADY!"
Those two need to get a room already.
K, now I'm confused. Traditionally the dungeon always takes place before the raid, is it different this time around?Ah, wait, no, I'm thinking of two different raids. My bad.Wonder why I can edit but not delete with these scripts enabled..
That's quite a beautiful instance if I do say so myself.
Its pretty and all, but the big question is, will it be gated to Mythic only?
