You can find plenty of Enforcers and Ogres in the Mo Grosh Stronghold in the NE corner of the Loch. They are all elites, but are spaced enough that you can deal with them one on one.

How many people are needed for this quest at level 19?

I did solo this quest with my level 19 NE Hunter.
There are 18-19 elites.

Mo'grosh Ogre, Mo'grosh Brute and Mo'grosh Enforcer can be found in Mo'grosh Stronghold (around cords 69,23 in Loch Modan).
I found Mo'grosh Brute in the cave, cords 74,20 (https://www.cuckhead.com/tbc/maps=38:748200).

The Brutes in that cave (74,20) are surrounded by Mystics. You can get them one by one if you are very careful, but there are about 3 mystics for each brute. slow slog solo as lvl 23 warrior. I'd rather have help.

I just soloed this with my level 19 rogue.

It's not hard as long as you have something like a throw ability or a bow or a gun to lure them with.

I didn't die once lol, which is wierd considering I die a lot soloing most easy quests

Soloed as a 16 hunter (dinged on the way in). I got myself killed on the way out because I went back to check Chok'sul's level... Free trip back to town for the turn in.

You can solo pull your way in, just keep an eye out for pats.

Level 18-20ish (might go higher or lower) elites. A group of teenish types can take them, barely. (Dwarf hunter, 2 gnome rogues, human warrior, and me, the Dwarven priestess ;))

Level 17 Paladin + level 18 Hunter (level 17 cat) took them out without any problem. Good drops and 140-ish experience each for a party of 2.

lvl 17 hunter & lvl 17 warlock (both with lvl 17 pets).... managed fine. as long as the pets took a beating! and only fought one at a time.

dont go into the caves without some higher level muscle as it's suicide!

I didnt read too deeply. but I didnt see any exact cords so here they are.

you will find all but the brutes outside.

Sadly the brutes are in the caves.

I would say you need at least 2 ppl here and even then you can still get cought off guard...HAVE FUN

Did this incredibly easy as a 24 HEALadin could see a 21-22 soloing it w/o much trouble. the ones inside the caves the brutes pull together only hard part but be smart and burn a cooldown or something.

22 mage... got half them.. then joined a group due to mana burn.. lol.. Group is advised under 20ish.. hunters/locks go ahead and talk crap.. pet/imp tank helps..

I haven't finished this quest yet. I killed 3 Ogres soloing with my Lv 17 Hunter and Lv 16 pet but had to revive my pet after each encounter. I figured it wasn't worth the trouble just yet. I found it interesting that I could survive against elites 2 levels higher that myself using my hunter twink while I wouldn't have stood a chance of killing an elite at the same level as myself and would consider myself lucky to survive an encounter with an elite two levels below me using my Rogue primary. So I assume after another level I should be able to take down individual mobs without even my pet dying. Inside the caves may be another matter. I suppose I'll find out soon enough..

Was able to solo this as a lvl 22 priest, take them one at a time, and have alot of food to get mana/health back

I took them out 1 or 2 at the time easy hunter level 22 , but i waited for the brute to spawn and took him when he came out of the save at (74,25)

You notice on these threads as time has passed since the original release of the game how the spelling and grammar and general thoughtfulness of the typical poster has seriously degraded. The worst thing that could have happened to this game is its extreme popularity which has resulted in every jr. high schooler getting grandma to pay for an account. <sigh>

hellllllo, i am a lvl 18 druid.

it is easier for druids (lvl 18) to swim across the lake as it is quicker for us in aqua form.

they are very easy to kill in bear form as long as you take them 1 by 1.

guys that have cords,,,, u should also give directions for people without cords, it gets quite anoying!

anyway have fun killing them =P *wink*

there is no way any of you as levels lower than 20 took these ogres by yourself, because they are all 19 or 18 elite.

Rofl, Who said something about can't solo.
I'm lvl 20 warlock who took 2 mobs at the same time,
A mystic and a brute. just kept the brute feared. dots on mystic all the time.. using wand.. healing voidwalker.. etc :)

They are really easy... made them all myself and i wasnt even close to die a single time at lvl 18 hunter..

homegrownn lvl 17 hunter soloed at lvl 17 there were no elites there are 2 brutes in a shallow cave the first one on left leaving the dam southeast pulled them out one at a time they are lvl 20 but not elite went and killed the others wandering around then got the brutes again after they rezzed no problem

the reason everyone says 20plus is cos since the patch theyre no longer elites, it is now possible to solo at 17-20 whilst it used to be a 20+ group quest

I a lvl 19 dwarf warrior and i solo'd this quest without troubles. just aggro one at a time, and for the brutes, attack first in caves and then attack the mystics. should be fine

Where i first saw them was at 62,22. Where the caves are is around 70,24. I'm a lvl 16 mage doing this quest alone and i'm easily killing them one by one around where they are alone. It's alot easier killing them with no other ones attacking you at the same time. Try to kill them around 62,22 and that's the easiest for people soloing aroung my level.

ez mode for a shadow priest. just kill all the guys u need on your way to the cave and use mindsoothe on all the targets that come in your way. inside the cave.. just do the same thing.. done in a couple of minutes :P

i did it with my lvl 18 alt mage,all i did was head northwest from Thelsamar and did the first cave on my left for a brute then heading to the middle one and theres alot more brutes there,but ogres and Enforcer are throught-out Mo Grosh Stronghold

I found this Quest quite simple.

First Cave: 68,20 (I found 2 Brute's & 1 mystic)
2nd Cave: 74,19 ( Carry on going straight into the cave, don't turn right, Straight ahead are more Brute's)

I decided to take them 1 by 1, and in the cave's I took the Mystics first, as they'd probably deal more damage.

with my lvl 19 human rogue, i can kill the ogres and enforcers one by one, but once it comes to getting the brutes inside the cave, you need at least 2 or 3 ppl. there is 2 mystics in the entrance to the cave, no matter what youre going to agro both of them at the same time.

I just did it with 17 hunter, and even when you kill them 2x1 It's possible, though it is a bit pain in the ass

The Ogres and Shaman's are easy. Those live outside the caves. Grab a full party and knock those out. Once everyone has those, its time to go for the brutes.

The Brutes only live inside the caves, though each cave has one Brute that spawns at the doorway of it so if your real patient (and chickenhearted) you can sit outside and wait. These bad boy's hit hard. I saw one drop a lvl 16 priest in 3 hits.

The best thing to fight your way to a safe corner of one of the caves and just try and hold it. Fight the mystics when they pop too, cause they will certainly add. If you have a mage in the party, make sure he's on add control and remeber that he can only sheep one at a time. If you get swarmed, run. The cave is pretty tight quarters and pretty tightly packed, so 9 times out of 10 your going to get aggro soon as you rez. Better to run, then fight your way back in again.

If your smart, go ahead and do the "A dark threat Looms" quests up till he asks you for the Crystal, and do that at the same time as this one. The Crystal drops off of Mystics and your probably going to kill a couple while your trying for brutes.

I did this quest in a group of 4 but no healer or mage. That is tough! I strongly recommend you get a mage or healer before trying this one. The beasties are tough!

I spoke to Magistrate Bluntnose of Thelsamar, but he would not give me the quest. Anybody know why not? I have a dark threat looms quest, but the magistrate will not give me the quest. THanks.

You could also do the wanted quest at the same time if you have a strong party. These are tough Ogres. I managed to solo one as a lvl 17 Hunter. I had to keep healing my pet and once it died I needed to use a health potion. DON'T GO ALONE! I'm lucky to not have died.

Can someone tell me where to find these ogres? I looked NE of the Lock lake, but they aren't there. Is this refering to another lake?

I was just out exploring Loch Modan because I'd never had the chance to when I found the Mo'grosh Stronghold. So okay, let's have fun. Everything else in the area was 1 or 2 shot with my 38 mage, so a piece of cake right? Not exactly. The elite ogres went down like the mid 30's turtles I'd been grinding in Dushwallow Marsh, about 4 hits of 400dmg to kill each one, so their hp is in the 1500's range. If you take this at lvl 19 like this says, you'd better be able to last forever in a fight, bring a big party, or some high lvl's with you. There were two low 20's hunters out there doing this so I partied up with them, one of them shared this quest with me and things went very easy. I had a lot of fun nuking the elites, but didn't get much else out of it, just 20S. :P

I have done it with 3 people, 28 mage 19 druid en myself a 19 pally. We killed all ogres, shamans and enforcers outside and went in the largest cave. The mage left the party and the druid en me were together killing 1 at time. That was the hardest because you must pull very careful, if we don't we died. The brutes are the hardest because there are always some mystic near them. But we killed the last one and we died(with help of 32 warrior) and i was happy what the reard was, 1800 xp on lvl 19 and 20 silver(got lots of greens from them)

I soloed this with my 23 druid, in bear form i have 700ish hp and 1220 armor, nuked them with starfire then hit em with a moonfire, at this point i go bear and tank em, the shamans hit for like 20 so not at all bad, the brutes hits in the 60's so tougher, rarely have to heal during the fight.

Brutes are also harder to get to, got killed tried to pull one from inside a cave, got a lvl 20 mystic add, can solo the mystic okey but both at once is to much, guess i can try root :)

The sound when the ogre falls is great, a big thump and the ground shakes :)
they also drop okey money, best so far is 1s,51c giving around 200xp per kill without rested bonus.

It is possible to take a couple of the outside ones out on a lvl 18 mage, however expect a long fight! I will come back when i am better equipt.

Non-elite mobs now since the last big update. Oops! One exception I just saw was Emogg, the Crusher, L 19 elite. He roams between all the caves and is more white in color and wearing blue below like the Shamans. Area is straight north of the excavation site.

Of the 3 caves, the southern most one seems the easiest to get the Brutes. They're all inside the caves. 2 are inside the southern cave.

I solo'd this as a lvl 20 Pally. Died once.

It's easy enough if you take it slow and steady, only fight one ogre at once, and keep healing.

No sweat.

How about you? You seem a likely sort, <class>. A group of ogres has set up camp on the northeast of the lake. Perhaps you will be the one to remove the threat to our town?
