Flying in Shadowlands is coming to accounts as early as the July 6th weekly reset! Prepare to fly (most of) the friendly skies across Shadowlands with you and your 50+ alts.
What you should make sure you finish before the reset if you want to hit the ground running:
Task 1: Make sure you've earned Renown 42, the maximum amount of Renown you can earn in Week 1.
There are two ways to earn your current weekly Renown in 9.1 in Week 1:
Complete the weekly Sanctum quest
by collecting 1,000
Animum del Bacino
Complete
Come plasmare il destino
. This quest can take up to a few days to complete, based on playstyle. You earn this by completing Korthian dailies (25% per day), and doing the twice-weekly Assaults (25% per assault). However, you can also get 3% from looting Korthian treasures, 5% from killing Korthia rares, 10% from defeating Tormenters of Torghast in the Maw. there are some other activities that add to the percentage. Treasures grant 3%, and killing rares throughout Korthia awards 5%.
The good news is that if you're not up to Renown 42 after the reset, you can use other sources for catch-up Renown to get you current.
(In Week 2, you can earn a third weekly Renown point by completing that week's Covenant campaign chapter).
Renown
Task 2: Complete all available campaign chapters -- including all 9.0 chapters
While you only needed to complete 2/9 chapters in the 9.0 campaign to complete your Week 1 chapters (3/9) for the 9.1 campaign, this is the last point at which you can open new Campaign chapters in 9.1 if you haven't completed your 9.0 campaign. To progress from here, you must have completed 9.0 to open new 9.1 chapters. So if you do not have the 9.0 Covenant Campaign fully completed, you cannot progress on the 9.1 questline that rewards flying.
The last campaign chapter you can complete during Week 1 of Chains of Domination is
Focusing the Eye
. This is a long quest line of 16 quests that starts with
Dimostrazione di gratitudine
and ends with
Buone notizie, gente!
. This campaign chapter also removes the Eye of the Jailer from The Maw and all the annoyances that go along with it, so that's a nice bonus.
With the Week 2 reset, you will be able to do the activities above to earn Renown 44, which opens up the campaign chapter
The Last Sigil
. Once you have completed the last quest in this storyline,
Ritorno del Primus
, you will be awarded with
Ricordi dei Cieli Senza Sole
. Clicking this will allow you and all your 50+ alts to fly in Shadowlands!
Flying in Shadowlands comes with the following restrictions:
Flying works within the four Covenant zones - Bastion, Maldraxxus, Ardenweald, and Revendreth
Flying does NOT work in Oribos, The Maw, The In-Between, or Korthia*
*Sadly, you will still have to climb trees to loot many Korthian treasures.
