As the above post mentions, this is the best gun for a twink hunter in the lvl29 Battlegrounds.

To save XP, (so you can max the amount of BG tokens you can turn in for BG rep) have a lvl 60 run you through all the "mastery" quests, and then help you with this one too. Not that a 29 would find it all that easy to solo these things. :)

Have your lvl 60 friend be out of party to lower the xp you get per kill. Just tag each quest-kill with one hit and let them do ALL the rest. If you're lucky enough to have a lvl 60 friend on the opposite faction that you can work with, having them finish off your kills will get you the least possible xp from each kill.

Also, for you 29 twinks, I believe you can put a +5 scope on the gun as long as you have a higher lvl put it on via trade window.

for the record, I had a lvl 60 friend run me thru these quests. Took just under 2 hrs and with minimal extra kills(in group whole time) I got 19 bars of xp, started at level 28 and ended almost 29. (no blue bar), you also get the twink chest peice doing this series.

And you can have a higher level engr put +7 scope on it like I did.

This IS the best lvl 29twink gun for hunters. I'm in the best twink guild on the server, and i can assure u this outranks all other range weapons for lvl 29. Plus, it can b treated as a lvl 40weapon b.c u can put +7scope on it. I can't use it b.c i will lvl up to 30 if i do the quest, but if u have the same problem as me, u can manage an ironweaver witth +3scope.

You need to do all the chain quest's to open up the quest that allows you to get this gun.

These quests are:

Raptor Mastery
Panther Mastery
Tiger Mastery

The quests will open up to you when you become level 28. My hunter Twink had 5 bars of rested XP and I was nervous of getting too much XP. So I had my two friends-- Hunter level 37 and Shammy level 39 group with me to do them all. I tried the system where I hit the mob once ungrouped with a high level and they finish them off...It does not work. I was getting 384 XP per kill doing it that way.

Grouped with two other people I was getting 134 XP rested and about 64-124 XP unrested per kill depending on the mob. By the time I finished the chain quests (one of which gets you a sweet chest piece, I barely dinged 29. After finishing the quest for the gun I had 18 unfilled bars left till 30.

I then bought a sniper scope (+7 damage) and traded it to the now level 40 shammy. I put the gun in the, "will not be traded" section of the trade box and she applied the scope to the gun. (Since I was not a high enough level to do this)

This gun is better than ANY blue item in the 20-29 bracket. It is well worth the time and many many ganks in STV (unless you pussed out and rolled PVE)

I did the entire "Big Game Hunter" quest chain last night thanks to the help of a 67 War. I started this at lvl 28, looking to twink my hunter with the quest rewards. I was grouped the entire time, unrested (normal xp) the entire time, killed only the quest mobs and as few others as possible that stood in our way, and still gained 18 bubbles (out of 20)of XP. My pet gained 3 and a half bubbles of XP (out of 6 I think). I'd say the majority of the XP was from quest turn ins, so being rested isn't THAT big a deal if you are worried about minimizing XP gained.

If you really want to minimize XP gains, then UNGROUP with whoever is helping you do this quest chain. YOU should tag the quest mobs with one low damage attack (low level gun shot, eg), and let your high level buddy finish the mob off. You will receive minimal XP but be credited for the kill for the quest. Let your buddy clear the path to the next set of mobs, don't attack anything that isn't quest related. This should be entirely doable EVEN IF you are already lvl 29 and have full rested XP, AS LONG AS you have a high level friend help you out, UNGROUPED as described above. I think I have a shammy that is level 29+ with full rest that I will try this out on over the next few days.

Well since u can put a sniper scope with some help on the gun is it possible to put khorium scope 12+ dmg on it?

The best gear is a matter of preference and set-up. I like the enduring cap for the 240 mana it adds. My unbuffed agility is 201, so I think the enduring cap provides better balance to my hunter. The parachute cloak I don't find really any better than the Tigerstrike mantle in combat, except it gives Death From Above mobility in Arathi Basin (which is a lot of fun). I have both a Zealot Blade with +15 agility on it for my main hand, and a Protector's Sword with Lifestealing. Which I will swap out depending on what I expect. Some people seem amazed at the Lifestealing, but honestly, I found that rogue happens, and it is much better in melee than the +15 agility enchant.

I got this awesome gun at lvl 33 and i am 39 almost 40 still got it tryin to get mithril blunderbuss though. In other words THIS GUN IS REALLY AWESOME AND NO REQUIRED LVL!

Mkay! Clear this out once and for all! (only read this if money is no problem). But do not freat alot is Quest items.

Twink lvl 29 hunter gear: Stuff in " " is what i prefer.

Head: 9agi/9sta helm. "8agi libram" or 100 hp.
Necklace: PVP
Shoulder: Mantle of thieves.
Cloak: "Parachute cloak". 12 agi enchant. /Tigerstrike mantle. 3 agi enchant.
Chest: Raptor hunter tunic (quest). "6 all stats" or 150 hp.
Wrist: Gallan cuffs. 24 AP enchant. quest.
Gloves: Razzeric's Racing Grips (quest) or Fletcher's gloves (depends if ur doing the "pet focus combo". On both 15 agi.
Waist: PVP.
Pants: Petrolspill leggins. Either 50 Ap/12 Crit or 40 Sta/12 agi.
Boots: PVP. 7agi or sta.
Ring: PVP
Ring: 5agi/5sta.
Trinket: Arena Grand Master.
Trinket Medallion of the Horde or Alliance.
Range wep: Master hunter's rifle (quest). 7 scope.
Main hand: "The butcher. 15 agi enchant". or Bleeding Crescent 30 int enchant.
offhand: Scout's Blade (PVP). 15 agi enchant.

Think that covers it. Unless some deep survivialist deeply disagree`?:D
OFC u can do Plains ring or Corpsmaker but that kinda sux..

for a 29 twink im 28 starting the chain and i wnated 2 kno if i group w/ a 60+ person will i lvl from all the chains or should i just get 1st hit and let him do the rest?

deadman's hand is possibly the best ring for any twink in the 29 bracket why i hear u ask? 10 stam and freezes targets. it procs about twice per minute and is EPIC! this pwns all ur seal of sylvannas or legionaires band crap. i have to say it doesnt drop often though :S

OK, I'm new to being a hunter, I'm lvl 31 and haven't been to STV yet. I see lots of comments about not reaching 29 before you claim gun. Is this merely a BG restriction you are applying to yourselves so that you can use the gun in PVP or is there another reason, like the reward offered is changed in the quest.

i JUST did these quests

for the 3 mastery chains, you can just follow whoever is helping you as a ghost. you will get credit for the kills, and NO exp :)

you just have to res, turn in quests, pick up the new ones, the kill urself again.

the total exp from just the quest rewards (13 quests in total) is about 40k

you do need to be alive to loot the last 3 mastery quests, and the final one for the gun/bow, (this is only 4 kills tho, so not a big deal)

i was full rested, and handing in the last quest for the gun lvled me to 29, (i did however get exp from the shadowpaw panthers, as my lvl 70 friend was having trouble agroing them)

what is the final quest too get this gun? or is there a final quest? and does anyone think that at lvl 28 with like 5 or 6 bars left could i do all the quests, get the gun, and stay under lvl 30? anyways i just want too know if anyone can put everything there is about this here cause i want this gun for pvp.

did this quest today 3/29/08. had a lvl 70 run me thru it. took about 2 hours. i had just dinged lvl 28. i would die, then follow in ghost form for the kills, then rez and turn in quests, get new ones, die again. repeat. when you get to the "boss" mobs you will have to be alive to loot the items. turn them in, get gun. you also a great chest piece and leg. but you can t put the armor kits on the legs as there bind on pickup. loc above are accurate.

Where do you get this gun from? Minimum lvl is 0 with 20.6 dps... Would be a nice weapon for a newbie to clean up... (:

this gun as an item is broken... its listed as a slightly lower dps out of the quest (gun has same name though). not sure why, but maybe it was an update
