The fourth and fifth chapters are available for testing on the latest PTR build of Patch 9.2, Eternity's End. We went through both available chapters in this post.
SPOILERS!!! Possible Major Story Spoilers Ahead.
Chapter 4: Forging a New Path
Chapter 4 starts with the quest
Des nouvelles d’Oribos
, where you need to talk with Uther in Haven. Talking with Uther triggers the
Shattered Legacies cinematic
, where Uther attempts to bond with Sylvanas over their shared fates and ends up in Sylvanas waking up.
We then report to Bolvar, who does not put priority on Sylvanas's fate, instead enlisting you to talk to the Enlightened elders in
Les lumières des Éclairés
. The Enlightened elders initially refuse to help us, believing we're asking for a favor that we cannot pay back, but Elder Ara believes in flexibility and has us travel to Provis Esper in
L’unité née de la diversité
. Provis Esper is where we last seen the Jailer, and where he gained access to the Sepulcher of the First Ones. Provis Esper is overrun with devourers, and Elder Ara asks us to clean up the area in
La reconquête de Provis Esper
and
Les vestiges des Fondateurs
.
Elder Ara then sends you to Pilgrim's Grace in
Le voyage du pèlerin
. The fragments you loot during the last quest start to react to something wiithin the Pilgrim's Grace area, and you verify what's causing this in
Que la lumière soit
. The fragments are attracted to an Ancient Translocator that seems to lead in the direction of the Sepulcher of the First Ones, but once you attempt to use it, the fragments fail to work and fall off the translocator, and we try to talk to the inhabitants of Pilgrim's Grace to figure a way to enable them in
Les lumières des pèlerins
.
After talking to a few pilgrims, you'll learn the key fragments are empowered by the Creation Catalyst, and we go chasing the responsible for these in
Complication sur complication
. Once we locate the basement area for the Catalyst , we help rescue pilgrims in
Plantes carnassières
, collect energized roots in
Les racines du problème
and kill an overgrown automa in
Éradiquer le mal à la racine
.
Once we return from the basement area, we meet up with General Draven and Nadjia the Mistblade. You're next tasked to take care of the Catalyst Gardens, killing overgrown automa in
Racines médicinales
, collect essences in
Croissance non contenue
, and discharge consoles powering the Creation Catalyst in
Prendre la main
.
As you complete these quests, a short cutscene will play where Draven and Nadjia attempt to invade the gardens but are shut down by the overgrown automa in the area. You then decide to fight fire with fire, or use a First One creation against the automa in the area in
Flore en folie
. We then finally reach the Creation Catalyst and use its powers to reforge the key to the ancient translocator in
Réparer la clé
. We then return to the translocator in
La fin d’un pèlerinage
, where Bolvar, Uther, Sylvanas and Jaina awaits us. This quest ends Chapter 4, with a dialogue at the end of Sylvanas talking about the Jailer's powers.
Sylvanas: If the Jailer has breached the Sepulcher, then he is a breath away from enacting his plan.
Bolvar: We cannot allow that to happen.
---
Uther: Tell the others what you told me.
Sylvanas: You all have witnessed the Jailer's power firsthand. Without the means to resist his domination, we have no chance against him.
Sylvanas: Anduin may be the key. If we can save him from--
Jaina: You dare speak of freeing him after all you have done?
Uther: Sylvanas held the mourneblade that bound him. Her presence may help free Anduin from the Jailer's grasp.
Jaina: I will never trust her.
Uther: Then trust in me.
Jaina: Always, Uther.
Jaina: Very well. We will prepare to enter the Sepulcher and save Anduin... together.
Chapter 5: Crown of Wills
Chapter 5 starts with the quest
La couronne brisée
, in which you need to talk to Anduin at the Geometric Cave in Haven. This quest chronologically happens after Anduin is rescued from the Sepulcher of the First Ones. A cutscene is supposed to happen here, but it is currently not available on the PTR. We then hear the Primus' plan on
Notre dernière chance
. The Primus is the one that created Domination magic, and he believes that the Helm of Domination can be used to counteract it.
Bolvar: Anduin, can you tell us anything about the Domination that the Jailer put in our way?
Anduin: No, I don't know how to counteract it... I... I'm sorry.
Jaina: It's all right. Rest. We will find a way.
---
The Primus: Zovaal needed to dominate the automa to enter the Sepulcher. Yet, they did not succumb immediately.
The Primus: If we use the Helm of Domination, we may be able to discover the source of their resistance.
Taelia: Should we use it, after all the devastation it's caused?
Bolvar: If we can find a way to resist Domination, it is worth the risk.
We then start testing how the broken Helm of Domination works in
Bonjour ténèbres
, where Darion volunteers to be the test subject, claiming he would be capable of bearing the pain. However, Darion almost immediately falls prey to its magic, which means even the broken helm still contains enough power to mind control someone, and also means that someone who did previously overcome Domination magic can still fall prey to it.
We then go test the Helm on more Zereth Mortis creatures in
Un deux, un deux
, and meet up with one of the Enlightened elders in
Eru l’Ancienne
. Before we depart, we can get the Primus to explain how Domination magic works to us. Our tests are interesting - Cervids instantly become mind-controlled, Poultrids explode, and outdated Automa resist for a few seconds before falling under mind control.
The Primus: Domination is akin to communication, a language, if you will.
The Primus: One so powerful that it interferes with a creature's very understanding of itself. This is why it is almost impossible to resist.
The Primus: If we can disrupt that interference long enough, we may find a way to thwart it.
Once we find Elder Eru, he mentions that the reason automa can resist Domination magic for some time is because of the complex language they know. Luckily, the area Elder Eru is at functions as a library and we start learning cyphers in
Une mystérieuse bibliothèque
.
At the library, we start learning the Cypher alphabet in
Une méthode antiscientifique
by uploading the phrases we previously collected to a nearby librarian and attempting to subdue it with the helm. The librarian eventually is mind-controlled by the helm, but it takes several seconds for that to happen this time, which does prove that the more advanced the language the being knows, the more resistant to Domination magic it becomes. With this knowledge, we return to the Primus in
Deux chemins à suivre
.
With the equation discovered, we travel to the Endless Sands in
Une moitié de l’équation
, where the language of the First Ones was first borne. Taelia and Bolvar join us there, and we start exploring the area - By killing Mawsworn in
Accabler et détruire
and finding more cypher phrases in
Excavation agressive
. While we venture into the Endless Sands, Bolvar and Taelia bond a bit.
Taelia: Here's one. This phrase really doesn't make any sense, does it? Just looking at it makes my head spin.
Bolvar: That feeling in your mind is the quality that makes Domination less effective.
---
Bolvar: Who taught you how to wield a hammer?
Taelia: Sir Crestfall of Kul Tiras. He was always there for me, growing up. Someone I could look up to, in the flesh.
---
Taelia: When you were there, alone in Icecrown, did you ever think of mother and me?
Bolvar: Every day.
With the phrases learned, it is bind memories within the Helm of Domination. We go to the Chamber of Reflection in Bastion in
Là où résident les souvenirs
and use the chamber to empower the shards of the Helm of Domination in
Ce qu’il nous faut oublier
. Bolvar and Darion, having been previously dominated by the Helm, volunteer as tributes for this.
Anduin is the next to volunteer in
Ce qui nous renforce
, but fails to collect his will, being only recently broken from Domination control. Sylvanas offers her will to the Helm instead, and we watch the
Sylvanas Remembers Arthas cutscene
. After this, Anduin attempts to offer his will once again in
Ce que nous surmontons
, succeeding in doing so this time.
With all shards of the Helm of Domination infused with memories of those who suffered Domination control, we go to the Runecarver's Chamber in Torghast in
La forge de la domination
, and we reforge the infused Helm of Domination into
La couronne des volontés
, strenghtening our resolve against Domination magic!
The Primus: It is time to remake what has been broken.
Thrall: What is to stop this new helm from being used to enslave others?
The Primus: It is to become something greater. An instrument of free will.
Sylvanas: Never again will a Lich King reign in Icecrown.
---
Bolvar: With this reforging, our wills are our own.
Taelia: For the future.
Baine: For the Shadowlands.
Jaina: For Azeroth.
The Primus: This will be the end of Zovaal.
With the completion of this quest, Chapter 5 ends.
