Blizzard's University Relations Q&A: How To Get Into the Game Industry
The Blizzard Entertainment University Relations Q&A is now live! Community managers, recruiters, former Blizzard interns, and more will be talking about their experiences getting into the gaming industry and what working for Blizzard is like. They covered topics such as what skills recruiters look for, how to write a resume, and even what the food at Blizzard is like!
The chat ended at 6 pm PST, and is transcribed in full below. Interesting topics cover:
What programming and art skills Blizzard is looking for in general, and what backgrounds the interns and staff had when they began working at Blizzard.
What an unrelated background like business or the film industry can bring to the job, and how being good at playing games doesn't necessarily translate into being good at designing them.
Relocation packages and concerns for applicants who currently live far away.
What content and secondary skills stand out to Blizzard in a portfolio.
Remember, if you want to apply to Blizzard's
2013 Summer Internship Program
, the deadline is January 31st!
