Former Blizzard developer Travis Day passed away yesterday. Also known as Indalamar, Travis is remembered as a legendary figure among Warriors, responsible for the evolution of the classes' early development, which helped start his 13-year career working on World of Warcraft, Diablo III, StarCraft, and more. He was 41 years old.
Known throughout the community by his character Indalamar, Travis gained fame after showcasing the at the time
severely underestimated capabilities of DPS Warriors
in the original World of Warcraft beta test, leading to quick nerfs and a lasting legacy. This and similar work in theorycrafting helped land him a job at Blizzard Entertainment in 2005, alongside his brother Morgan Day, who now serves as associate game director. In more than 13 years at Blizzard, Travis spent time on every major franchise, including every World of Warcraft expansion through Legion and Diablo III: Reaper of Souls, where he was honored by items such as
拉玛兰迪的抉择之刃
,
Ramaladni's Gift
, and the WoW TCG
Indalamar card
. Travis left Blizzard in 2018, continuing his career in games design at Phoenix Labs and Lightspeed LA.
Although seemingly slow by todays standards, this video propelled Indalamar to fame and helped cement a legacy still referenced today.
Since the news of his passing was shared by sister Rachel Day, other friends and former coworkers have also begun sharing memories of Travis over Twitter. We are all deeply saddened by his loss.
