Oddly enough, depending on factors like exactly how much the 2.4 spirit change affects mana regen and gemming choices, this doesn't seem to be much better than the other badge chest-

Compare:
- 1 blue socket
- 1 yellow socket
- 7 mp5
+ 1 dmg (counting socket bonus and disregarding int)
+ 1 stam
+ 4 int
+ 26 spr
+ 14 crit
If you gem with -
glowing nightseye (5dmg, 6 stam)
veiled noble topaz (5dmg, 4 spell hit)
-you actually lose about 8-9 spell damage, plus some stam and hit, in addition to the 7 mp5. So I'd surmise that in the end it's whether 26 spir and 14 crit can compare to that loss.

I think that with the increased spirit mana regen depending on int combined with intensity this would make it more or less same mana regen, remember to add .4 mp5 from the extra int as well.
Since 1 spellcrit rating is ~0.045% then 14 crit is ~.64% crit. Let's say you use the IS/4xSF cycle and your SF does around 2.5k dmg as standart. Since starfire doubles up on dmg when it crits then 1% crit would be 1.17% (the .17% is from the fact that your next starfire will be 1/6th faster) of your avarage starfire dmg or app 29.25 more dmg. And meaning the ~.64% more crit would be equal to around 18.72 bonus dmg + higher mana efficiency on starfire. So all in all i would say it is better.

With 2.4's buff to spirit and the fact that they are stacking spirit on all of the new moonkin gear, its apparent that moonkins should not spec into subtlety and NEED to get intensity. I was under the impression that most high level raiding druids were spec'd subtlety and it was something we needed. Also, since there wasn't much spirit on the past moonkin gear, intensity wasn't needed. Hopefully, this wont cause aggro issues.

, a level 70 druid with 3/3 Intensity gets 0.3 * 5 * (0.001 + sqrt(Int) * Spirit * 0.009327) MP5 while casting.
Here's a table of your int vs how much MP5 while casting you get from 26 Spirit:
100 - 3.6
200 - 5.3
300 - 6.3
400 - 7.3
500 - 8.1
600 - 8.9
700 - 9.6
So, if you have at least 400 Int and 3/3 Intensity, the spirit makes up for the loss in MP5, with the added bonus of more non-casting mana regen.

I actualy think these are not the best choice for a moonkin, except if he's seriously lacking mana. You could say the socket is better, but in case of these, you'd put +12dmg gem inside (still at -1 stamina compared to cloth) and in cloth you'd put potent pyrestone, making them +8spelldamage +5 crit rating. Which is very very slightly worse than +12dmg but pretty much evens out with that 1stam.
Improved divine spirit basicaly evens out the base dmg difference (and adds 0.6 in favour of leather), after that it's down to 14 spellcrit vs. 7-8 mp5 (depending on your int, look above).
Lets take a 10min encounter as an example how they compare.
8mp5 gives 48 mana per minute, so 480 mana per whole encounter. maxrank SF costs 336mana (pve talented). So that's an extra SF in the whole fight, around 2.5k dmg lets say.
14 spellcrit rating is 0.63% spellcrit. 5/5 Vengance talent increases SF critical strike damage bonus by 100%. If we take a moderate value of 1250 spelldmg (raidbuffed), that's 1250 extra damage per SF crit. Using classical IS+MF+SFx3 rotation means 1s+1s+9s= 11s per one cast rotation. Safe to add another second due to latency (=12s) adds up to 5 cast rotations per minute = 50 cast rotations overall. Out of these casts there are 150 SF's and 50 MF. 0.63% spellcrit means at least 2 crits due to cloth spellcrit advantage. Evening out Wrath of cenarius (+20% SF) and 80%(iirc) of spelldamage MF uses, that's 2x2500= 5k dmg.
+ nature's grace comes in, which means you do more damage in less time, using extra time to regen mana out of mp5 rule or even with melee regen. Not to mention you want imba dps in certain encounters (brutallus).

Oh, i forgot to add... if you're using Innervate on yourself, then these are probably the better choice, due to extra mana returned from +spirit. CBA to calculate it, i'd appreciate if anyone else did & check i didnt screw every other calculation above :)
